Congratulations!
I'm doomed to get diabetes too even though I'm only 14 because it's in my genes. My nan(mum's mum) had it, my aunty(mum's sis) has it and even my mum who's a nurse and VERY health-conscious...basically a healthy-freak, has diabetes though hers is mild and low risk but still. So according to my GP I'm probably gonna have it as well in like my 50s but if i control my sugar intake to a reasonable level it probably wont affect that much.
Foods Does anyone eat Indian food here??? Jul 17 2007

Same here!
I'm not Indian and neither are my parents but we're like 5th generation Indians(and have like Indian ancestors) so my mum generally cooks Indian food but it's more westernised(less ghee, spices, masala ect...Basically it's blander but healthier :P) and it's so hard to keep count of the calories but I generally calculate how many calories the ingredients and sauce have  individually then add it up and add a few extra for all the spices/oils n stuff or I just make myself some steamed vegetables instead which is much better.
