Ahah, our school for whatever reason separates the freshmen from everyone else in a completely different building. So I think it's safe to say I'll be, well, safe.

Ah that's sounds pretty awesome...psychology in particular sounds really interesting.

I'm guessing you live closer to the city? Our school's sitting on a mini-swamp in a little suburb/farmland area so there's a bit of a drive to anywhere exciting. The drive to New York alone is about an hour, providing there's no traffic. It's a weird place, there's a bit of everything

Good morning everyone.

My cheat day is over and I'm still at 109! This is very exciting. I had a big chocolate biscotti and a little over a cup of brownie ice cream for dessert in the afternoon. I did walk a lot of it off with my dog so I guess that's why it hasn't shown up on the scale.

Hmm I'm glad I'm not a freshman in your school.

What electives did you pick? I'm still waiting on my schedule to come in the mail, I'm not even sure if I was alotted the electives I initially chose.

Haha, I didn't even know they made sugar-free red bull.

Eh, relatively, yes. The work doesn't bother me but I'm terrified of talking to new people..I'm either sporting a mild social phobia or some pretty hardcore shyness. I do like that I'm getting a change of scenery, though.

How about you, you're starting 10th? Excited?
Nice softball pictures, by the way. You look fierce, lol :)

Haha oh goodness. Na, I say you'll be missing all those lovely raw eggs only tomorrow morning.

Hello swimmin_sunscreen! Good job on the 4 pounds. Lol I'm sure it's a heck of a lot more satisfying to pave your way to a healthy skinny rather than just being naturally tiny.

One of my favorites was the Kashi GoLean Crunch! cereal. It tastes great but still keeps you full. I like the original one but there's also Honey Almond Flax if I'm not mistaken.

My cheat day is tomorrow. I actually had no idea what I was going to eat, but now that you mentioned your plan I'm thinking chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream for dessert :D
Young Calorie Counters I'm not losing anything, yet Jul 23 2008

Thanks, that's probably a good idea to get out of the kitchen before I grab anything else - if I linger long enough I'm prone to sudden cravings.

True! I'll eat healthy to that.
That's awesome that you can think that way. I try to motivate myself to acknowledge my own behavior is healthier, but of course the chips and popcorn and salted pretzels that they're so happily snarfing down before my eyes occasionally gets a little tempting. Hopefully it'll get easier down the road as I get myself back into eating right.

Hello all - mind if I squeeze in here?
My name's Steph. I'm 110, and I would like to drop 10 pounds.

I found this thread just in time; my relatives just stopped by and brought in a Russian layer cake - you know, the kind topped with every sugary substance known to man.
And I was having a good day too! Bummer.

mercy_bobcat, I think that sounds about right.
That's awesome that you attend an all girls school! I'd like that, occasionally even I need a vacation from boys.

Yes! I get the same feeling when I'm online.

Whenever I feel I need to balance out a "just relax" day, I do sit-ups while watching TV during the commercial breaks, or walk briskly around the house while waiting for something to cook. During the summer it's always nice to take walks around the neighborhood, too, and it isn't stressful at all.

Do you worry a bit about binging during the day? That may be the cause of it.

I've had a dream like that once or twice before. Stinks, but then again it's only your mind tricking you. The association of "bad" with "binging" is so strong that you feel like you've really done it...hopefully the dreams will go away on their own.

Goal Weight: 100

I was at 117 last summer and had lost all the weight. Now I gained ten pounds back and have hit a plateau unfortunately..I doubt it's healthy or even if it's possible to lose all ten pounds by the time school starts in September, but hopefully I can manage for at least 5 or 6.

Hey, sorry, I was away on vacation for a while.

I managed to gain only one pound, but I'm getting back on track now. I think I might join an aerobics class at the gym (=

Coscto's greeeeeeat. From muffins to hummus to gas, the place has it all! Lol. :]

Yeah, blotting the grease/bring your own supper is good. Or just order very small portions, that works as well.

Have fun in Hawaii! That sounds wonderful.

Chaundra - that's so weird, I'm around the same as you, body type and goals wise.

Today I went out with my crazy sister at some Mexican place....and instead of a full meal I had an appetizer, clams with some rediculous chili on the side. I don't like spicy foods too much so I passed up on the chili. Then I binged a bit and had some rice pudding with chocolate syrup. Sometimes one just has a craving! (;

Good luck with your goals all of you, keep it up!

Welcome! (: Costco muffins are the best, I have a terrible addiction to those. Of course my fridge is always chock full of them. Figures.

Hi, good luck to both of you! We will reach our goals soon. (:

Just thought I had to share this. I was getting hungry and instead of pigging out on muffins in the fridge, I got creative. I sauteed blackberries, strawberries, and cherry pieces in a bit (not too much of course) of maple syrup, then used 1-2 teaspoons of low-fat vanilla yogurt as a dip. It was so good, and it's only about 150-200 calories, depending on the amount of maple syrup and fruits you use.

I would definitely recommend it if you feel you're about to binge. :D
Motivation Cross country? Jul 17 2007

One of the coaches is alright, but the other one is a bit terrifying. He's this huge musclar guy that loves to call out insults and favors the better runners. However, he usually takes the more experienced runners a different route - this way I would hardly see him, except for the first few days, unless I choose to run that route.

I do love running, do get me wrong. When it's at my own pace and no one is telling me what to do, I can run for quite a while and feel great. It's just a bit obnoxious when he is barking out orders behind me. :P

Yes, I suppose I should be training.

I've been going to the gym, working out, and going for the occasional jog, but knowing the things we do in cross country, I should probably put a bit more effort into it.

I know. It can be quite discouraging, though, when the star athlete comes sprinting past me from behind. And I wish the coaches were easier. Well, maybe they are, I just dislike being told what to do. Hah...

Yeah, why not, I'll do it. Worst I could do is fall back with the early runners, and I don't think that's going to happen unless I'm more out of shape than I think!

Thanks (=

Wow! The onion article...yes, definitely puts things in perspective.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, one donut will not ruin you completely. Plums are yum. :D My stepdad buys donuts all the time so I know how it feels to be tempted. Reach for a nice fruit instead, like you did, or an applesauce. If you really want a tasty snack for a few more cals, make a low-fat smoothie, those are delicious.

Thanks!

Hahaha. Yeah, most girls that seem perfect are usually just the opposite. There are some "perfect" girls I know that are actually quite nice, but they do have their moments. I suppose no one's perfect!

Aah! Lol that sounds so good. I loooove cooking, so I will definitely try that :D

Trisha  -  Good luck! Cardio is good, I try to get in around 20 minutes each day. I find that when I'm watching TV I do leg lifts and situps or whatever, and I usually don't even realize I'm doing it because I'm distracted. Hope that helps, if it doesn't, good luck to you anyway haha (=

Lol, I know what you mean! Even now, whenever I get in a bathing suit, my last few stubborn pounds just kind of wiggle around there.

Judging by your profile though, you're doing really good so far. 20 Pounds?! That's so good! I've only lost around 13. If you've done that, you can definitely get rid of the last ten.

Yeah, it would be nice to be like one of those "perfect girls". Truth is, I got to be good friends with one of them - she had like perfectly full thighs and a thin waist and pretty face and the whole deal....the girl basically starves herself and does 100000 pushups everyday to build muscle everywhere, especially in her chest, to make it seem larger. I just find that repulsive, honestly, if I'm gonna lose weight/tone up I want to do it normally.

A good tip? Have unsweetened applesauce as a snack, it's only 50 calories a cup and it's delcious topped with a bit of cereal (:

Oh, no, trust me, my school is the absolute worst. I'm sure you're not that bad. It's like all the girls there were born with the perfect body and eyes and lips and everything. Ugh, it's disgusting, I'd do anything to get away from it.

But if you're 5''5 your weight should even out a bit more than mine. You're so lucky, I wish I was taller!

Hi, I'm thirteen but I'm still serious about losing. Or toning up, I guess.

- 5'2'', 105, female, want to lose about 5-6 pounds.

I used to be (and still sort of am, as far as within my school) really "short and large" so I know what it feels like to just want to lose everything and look great. Even now I mess up quite often and overeat so I would like to find a good plan to stick to. (:
