Disliked both immensely.  First one looks like an undergarment from 150 years ago.  Second one looks like something a cougar would wear to a club and get laughed at.

A simple "I don't like it" would have been great, thanks...

Actually the reception will also be outside... in the fall. Its in a tent with heaters, but I still doubt being to hot will be an isuue!

oh good so I'm not crazy! Haven't you ever loved something that for some reason everyone else sees completely differently then you... and they are all saying "what are you thinking?!"

Thats what I was worried was happening here....!

can't seem to fix it... just copy and paste it if you want to see!

There was also this one that I loved:
http://www.vintagestyleclothing.com/7123tamse npage.html

but I got the first one super cheap and the long sleeve aspect makes sense to me considering the fall and the cold - and wearing a jacket type thing wouldnt make sense since its the braided staps that I love so much on the second dress

I'm thinking I am going to remove the sleeves, and try to make the neckline a little more v-neck... its kind of already got that shape... it just needs a little enhancement. I can't decide what I want to do with the length

C'est l'Halloween! C'est l'Halloween, HEY!

Hehehe... this is a good challenge! I won't be participating, because I have to work a 12.5 hour shift starting at 6:30 the day after hallorween (meaning I would have no use for the costume... I won't be partying with that the next day)...I just wanted to add in the lyric from the french song that haloween always reminds me of!

Weight Loss Ladies with BMI of around 23 (22 at min. and 24 at max.).. What is your body status???? Jul 27 2009

My Stats are very similar to yours -

34-26.5-38

132.5 lbs, 5'6", bmi 22.

I my weight regularly ranges anywhere between 136-130 lbs, and really I don't see that much change in how I look or my measurements within this range.

I had a look at your pics, and from I can tell I think our bodies look pretty similar. I personally am quite happy with my body, and I also think you look great. Maybe there is a different scale for asians, but alot asian women's bodies (in my personal opinion) are in serious need of some muscle (I'm not saying all, but this seems to be a common look). Twiggy with flat bums doesn't look as nice as strong and fit.

You, my dear, have a beautiful, strong body. Thats not just based on the numbers, your pictures show it as well.

P.S. - I am a small boned causasian

Interesting Bier, I'll have a look at that. Yes the intense hunger has just started since switching pills, and it is driving me nuts!!! It feels so wrong to be trying to not eat when I am hungry. The lack of libido is nothing new for me unfortunatly.

The thyroid issue is actually something I am looking into, because I have other symptoms as well: extream exhaustion all the time (I mean if I don't get at least 12 hours of sleep, then I am falling asleep while driving... unfortunatly thats not realistic), always cold (its summer and I am currently running a space heater under my desk), dry itchy skin (I scratch my legs in my sleep until they bleed), constipation (gross I know, but once a week is "regular" for me)...

I actually went in to my doctor last week about this, and that was when she changed my pills for the libido complaint. She also got me to go in the following day to take some blood to test (no results yet). I'm not to hopeful anything will show up though because I had a blood test a couple years ago for the same complaints and never heard anything from it (and generally with stuff like blood tests no news is good news).  Unfortunatly though I would rather the opposite - I think at this point news of an underactive thyroid would be good news so I can start getting some treatment!

Weight Loss So tired all the time... Jul 16 2009

After doing a bit of research, I did decide to try to get an appointment with an andocrinologist. I have had my thyroid tested before, as I had mentioned, but it was just done by a family dr, and I never actually heard results back (most of the time it seems the poicy is if you don't dear from them then everythings fine). I have a couple other issues that I think may be linked - extream exhaustion, constipation, extreamly pale dry skin, and always feeling cold.  Those are all supposedly symtoms of hypothyroidism. I have also suffered from a lack of sex drive over the past many years, which nothing has helped - and I say that mentioned in  my thyroid research. I don't seem to be gaining unexplained weight (if I gain weight, I KNOW what caused it!)... but I don't think that HAS to be a symptom. I've made an appointment with a doc, and am going to be asking for a referral to a specialist.

I'm reading A Thousand Splendid Suns...can't put it down! i think its supposed to be a follow up to the Kite Runner or something,

A Thousand Splendid Suns and Kite Runner are completely unrelated stories. You're not missing any previous story reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" first... but Kite Runner is better in my opinion so if you're loving A Thousand Splendid Suns read Kite Runner when you're done.

I have heard from a tonne of people that the kite runner is soooo good. So I'm mid-way through it right now and I really have a "take it or leave it" type feeling about it. The only reason I am finnishing it is because I'm convinced it must get better....

Whenever my boyfriend isn't going to be home for supper because he is working late I always get excited because it means I get to have cereal for supper... sad I know. He knows I have this problem then when he gets home he always asks what I had for supper and laughs at me when I am trying to stumble my way through a lie about grilled chicken breast and veggies.  Hes the only reason I am able to stick to balanced suppers!

I also suffer from social anxiety. Have you seen a doctor about it?

Its easy for people to tell you to face your fears thinking you will overcome it, without realizing that people with social anxietey face their fears everyday of their life, and its not going away.  I know what it feels like to have the feeling that everybody around is looking at your and judging you for one reason or another, and to walk away from a conversation of situation wondering if you said the right thing or did the right thing, or if people are judging you for that.  Or your on the street and you see someone you knew from high school or somewhere else and you just want to hide because you dont know how to go through the social norms of a "hey, hows it going? How have you been?" without feeling awkward.

You should consider talking to your dr. about medication. I have been taking a mild anti-depressant for my anxiety, and it is working great.  I still think twice once and a while what others could be thinking, but I find it alot easier to just say "whatever, thats their problem" and get back to living my life. Nobody should have to go through their life in a constant worry about what everyone else is thinking about you. Odds are most people arn't thinking anything, and could even be worrying about what you are thinking about them! I have been much happier since I have been taking this medication... I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my sholders and I am finally free to live my life.

Please consider giving it a try!

Kayaking, rock climbing, and hiking! I love them! They are the type of activities that you can get out and have fun with friends, and before you know it a couple of hours have gone by! You don't even realize how much exercise you are getting until later that evening when all of a sudden you find yourself making excuses to head to bed a bit early!

Weight Loss 5 lbs! Jun 11 2009
16:16 (UTC)

This is probably going to be really hard for you to except, and I had the same problem at first, but try dropping down your cardio to 20 minutes max a day, and upping your weight routine to 45 minutes a day. Better yet - you could even cut your cardio to 20 mintues 3 days a week, and keep your weights at 45 minutes 5 days a week, but I know that can be hard for some people to swallow.

I used to be like you, relying on cardio for me exercise with a bit of weight training, and I was consistenly on a low cal diet and it seemed like my weight took FOREVER to change. Then I picked up whitewater kayaking and knew that during the winter monthes I would really have to work to keep up my strength for the kayaking season. I increased my weight routine and dropped my cardio just due to time, and for a long period of time stopped watching what I was eating so closely (I was still making sure I made healthy choices, just not counting cals). I knew I was liking the way I was looking, but hadn't gotten on a scale in a long time (like 3 months), and was scared to death to see how much I weighed.  Then one day I decided to just do it, and discovered that I had lost 5 lbs. Realistically I would have lost more then 5 pounds of fat since I had visibly put on some muscle.

When you lost alot of weight during your ed, you would have lost alot of muscle. Then when you put it back on, odds are more of it went back on as fat rather then muscle. The only way to correct this is to start weight lifting. The more muscle you have, the more cals you will burn throughout the day. Also - alot of people don't realise that half of those cals you are burning during all that cardio is comming from muscle - its not all cals from fat, so you have to make sure you are doing lots of lifting to promote your body keeping your muscle around!

Weight Loss Is it REALLY not possible to lose weight while gaining muscle. Jan 21 2009

Hi

I completely understand your frustration.

I think the best thing to do is also measure yourself i.e. your waist, hips, legs, arms etc and i'm sure you would see the change. I'm the same height as you albeit a stone heavier, i haven't lost any weight but i have lost over an inch from my waist and hips due to exercising 5 times a week.

Hope this helps? x

very encourging... I could start measuring. How often do you measure? I assume seeing differences in measurements would take some time...

I do measure everything I eat, so I know I am not consuming without realizing it. I hope I am going through a little stint where I can gain muscle while losing fat! I wonder how long I can get away with it?! Hopefully if that is the case then when I stop building muscle I will start to see a drop in the scale.. so I guess I will keep up what I am doing for now. I wouldn't mind building a bit of muscle up then losing the fat later..

Weight Loss Is he being unreasonale? Nov 28 2008

In all honesty I have done the same thing... I have lost interest in a past boyfriend because he was over weight. His idea of eating well and exercising was WAY different then my own, I knew he wasnt going to change, and I saw the possibility of myself falling into the same practices. Of course this wasn't the only reason I broke up with him...

When I think about what hes saying I think he might be right. There really is no reason I can't maintain this. Even if I do have a kid or two, I can work hard to get back to where I was (along with not using pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever I want whenever I want). After all there are plenty of ladies on here who have shown that they can get back to their ideal weight after gaining through hard work, so really I should be able to maintain if I set my mind to it. It just kind of struck me as the type of thing I should be deciding to do for me, not something he should be requesting of me!

Health & Support Old Hag Syndrome Sleep Issue Nov 26 2008

I have learnt alot about this over the past couple of years, and while some people simply expereince the paralysis and the weight on their body (such as myself) others actually have hallucinations.  Its because your kind of caught in a state half way between REM sleep and being awake. Your brain is starting to wake up, but your body doesn't. So, when people see and hear things, it could be because they are still dreaming a little bit.

apparently hula hooping with a weighted hoop is good cardio as well as good toning for your abs.  I havn't tried it yet, but I think I am going to.  I am going to buys a weighted hoop wither this weekend or next I think...

You need to get a weighted adult hoop, not a kids one! They are too small (apparently).  My problem have been finding a place to buy them! There are tonnes online, and seem to be reasonably priced, but I am impatient and hate waiting for delivery, but I might have to in this case..
