| Yeah, bigpun416, since I posted this thread back in July I've dropped this bread big time. Now I'd rather have a bread that's higher in calories and fiber that's free of any unnatural ingredients. I love Spelt bread especially and any whole wheat or multi-grain breads that are high in fiber. Spelt bread is especially good with its subtle sweet and nutty flavor, plus it's high in protein, too. | |||

| That's been my problem, patches403...I've had a hard time in the past eating small portions of healthy food while he eats juicy meat and cookies because, well, that's all so delicious! And I like to sit down and enjoy meals with him. So I do find myself resenting him somewhat when he can eat the things I WANT to eat but can't, and without me...and at the same time, he seems to somewhat resent me when I don't want to eat the same thing he's eating or I don't want to share the popcorn when we're at a movie, etc. Old habits die hard.
Portion control really is going to be the key for me. I made a nice dinner tonight of pork loin, sweet potatoes, and green beans...and I just ate half the amount that my boyfriend did and still stayed within my calorie limit for the day, and got to enjoy a good meal with him. Hallelujah!! |

| These are great and helpful responses, thank you all! It does seem remembering my portion control is a key point here. Just because we're having barbequed ribs doesn't mean I need to eat an entire animal's worth myself.
And peaches0405, you're absolutely right. I'm constantly on my boyfriend about his unhealthy choices. He's very strange...some days he'll go with hardly eating a thing, and when he does finally graze on something it'll just be a slice of toast or some steamed veggies. Then somehow, the next day he'll eat a huge dinner and then want popcorn and ice cream and cookies for desert! He loves fruits and vegetables but I think as I get back on track myself, I'm going to try to get him to be more consistent with his eating habits. Thank you everyone! It's nice to hear how other people work through this kind of thing. |

| I was thinking the same thing just the other day. It's pretty bad, especially during the part where she is walking down the sidewalk in jeans...my eyes were just transfixed on her pointy hip bones swaying back and forth, back and forth. *shudders*
Yeah, I found it rather disturbing. |

| Beverly - Yes, I believe it's the same thickness and I agree with dbackerfan...it really does seem to stay fresh and soft longer than a lot of breads I've had.
Bhagwan - I loooove using tortillas, too. I've never tried Mission's tortillas, but I know they sell them around here. I'll have to go check them out...thanks! |

| I'll agree with hogue1...the Master Cleanse does definitely flush your system. If you choose to try it, you will be surprised and horrified by the waste you eliminate.
You definitely should not take this on as a weight loss method, though. Like I said, I only lost a few pounds but that wasn't the reason I chose to try it. I wanted to clean my system out and the Master Cleanse did that, but I just found the whole thing extremely unpleasant, to be honest. The water, lemon, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper mixture was sort of okay but I drank it for a while, I would start to feel the burn of the cayenne pepper in the back of my throat and that just made me feel sick. The salt wash? I could barely stick with that part...I can hardly drink a whole glass of regular water as soon as I wake up let alone warm salt water... The herbal laxative tea was the most tolerable of all of it. I've heard of lots of people that felt rather weak the first few days but then found lots of energy the rest of the way through...but for me, personally, I felt very weak and tired the whole time and while it did seem to cleanse me of some stuff that's been lurking in the deep, dark depths (ew)...I would try another method before I ever do this again. |

| I really wouldn't recommend doing it, either.
I only lost under 10 lbs, too, like hlraphael, and I lacked energy pretty much the whole way through. After the first few days, I really wasn't craving much to eat at all but I ended up just feeling disgusted with just about everything every day and wanting to just go to bed. I also hated the salt wash portion of the diet...it is aaaawful and I was never actually able to drink as much salt water as it said you should. And I, too, gained back the weight I lost very quickly...but the weightloss was so unsubstantial to begin with that it didn't even really matter. |

| shmoopy79 - I definitely like the way it tastes. I'm no bread connoisseur, but I really taste no difference between a slice of this bread and a 120 calorie slice. I guess perhaps it's just not quite as dense? | |||
