Weight Loss Can I lose 26 lbs by Christmas? Sep 25 2008

I'm also in the same shoes. I'm 5'2.5'' and currently around 132.  It fluctuates anywhere from 130-134. 

I've lost 45 pounds a little over a year ago, and also hoping to get down to 110-115.

It looks like that's not happening anytime soon.  My lowest was around 125.

I've tried exercising, swimming, weights, but nothing came off.  Now I'm so busy at work, I can't even work out anymore, so I try to make the most of my walking (walking to walk, take walks on lunch breaks, etc).

I don't have any new advice for you.  But if you want to jumpstart your diet, try to eat dinner earlier -- like before 6pm.  Right now, I'm simply eating less, watching portions, and stay away from sweets and greasy food.  Oh yeah, and I love green tea.

So we've got about 13 weeks left before the New Years!  Let's do it! (How? I'm not so sure, hehe..but I really don't think you can go wrong with calorie counting.)  Good luck.

Week 9: It's only week 9 and we've lost so many people :(.  I hope you guys aren't mad because I have been slacking off with the updates.  Just been busy, working and studying.  But thanks the rest for sticking with me.  I'm really amazed at some of your progress!!!  On the other hand, I'm not doing so great -- actually, I'm doing the worst, gained over 5 pounds.  I don't know what is going on. I've tried the gym, cutting calories.  My cycle is 2 weeks late though, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.  My motivation is string-thin right now, but I'm hanging on -- every single day and hope for the best.  Congrats to everyone on your progress!! PS: Let me know if I've missed anyone.

Week 8:  So sorry you guys, I've just been really busy studying and starting a new job :(  Thanks cherry for helping me update the info.  I really appreciate it.  Thanks to those who have dropped me a line recently wondering about my disappearance.  It was kind of you to do so.  So, back to business...Just wanted to give a big congrats to imhoff and sonini for not only meeting their goal weight loss but also surpassing it!!! WAY TO GOOO you guys!  I haven't been doing too well :( -- I've put on several pounds.  I'm gonna make today the first the I start hitting the gym again.  This is ashamed and so awful.  Please hang in there.  We're more than half way through.  You guys are doing wonderful.

I've been so frustrated :(
No weight loss but just tons of fluctuations ...
Since I have a desk job (which means no exercise), I try to keep my calorie in take around 1200 more/less.  I come home from work a bit late, and tend to have dinner around 8pm or so -- and the next morning when I weigh myself, I have gained over a pound.  Do you guys think it's due to eating late?  My calories are still within range though.  I drink a lot of fluid during the day as well, usually over 70 oz.  Could someone please shed some light as to what is going on? Should I up my calorie intake? Exercise (I do Tae-Bo at least 2-3 times a week)  more?

Week 5:  Wow, it has been 5 weeks since the challenge began and the numbers look great.  I'm finally starting to go in the right direction.  I don't know what went wrong the last couple of weeks.  Again, I apologize for not updating last week.  I had some computer issues.  Keep up the great work everyone!!!  Biggest loser so far is imhoff --- 14 pounds gone so far!  WOW!  Congrats!  This challenge is going so well.  I'm glad I'm doing it and thanks everyone!

Week 3 - I've been quite busy this week, I apologize for the late update and thank you everyone who has checked in this week.  Again, please calculate your TOTAL weight loss since the challenge every time you weigh in -- that would make my life a lot easier.  Thanks so much and keep up the good work.  The title for the biggest loser this week still belongs to cherrywild -- congrats!  3 weeks down, just 12 more to go...we can do it!!!

Hi everyone,

wow, i'm exhausted...just got done with billy's core express workout amped -- that felt good. i love billy blanks -- simple moves yet effective. i would highly recommend it.

it's that TTOM for me though -- so i'm trying to drink more water than usual, that's my goal for this week.

as a side note, i just wanted to say -- hang in there. i'm so glad you guys are here and that we're all doing this together.

since there have been more participants than i anticipated, i'm thinking of changing the format for posting the results.  i will simply post the total weight loss for each person. for example, if someone has lost 5 pounds in total since the challenge, it will say 5/20 next to that person's name since our goal is 20 pounds minimum. i hope that's okay with everyone. so it would be great if you can calculate your total weight loss each week that you weigh in.

again, keep up the good work and don't be too stressed out. we're taking this one step at a time. before you know it, it will be summer and we will be looking greater than ever...yay..GO US..cheers everyone.

momof2funykds:  Wow, I'm really sorry if I've upset you.  It was just a little humor...notice the "lol" at the end.  Come on, what could I possibly make you do if you aren't losing weight?  What I simply had in mind was for participants who haven't lost weight to get some of their frustrations out by posting about their situation (which you just did, which is great!), and perhaps others can help motivate/advice.  But that's by no means required :) ...relax.  I totally understand your situation and I commend you for standing up to challenges and staying motivated to pursue your goal.  Keep going, you're doing great!  Actually, I'm the one who's been slacking this week...not losing anything AND gaining some -- so the penalty comment, was really for me.

Week 1 -- Together, we have lost 61.6 pounds/940.0 pounds.  Go US!  The person who has lost the most weight is *** gilly_bean *** -- losing 13.2 pounds in just 1 week -- very nice.  (I have to go now, job interview coming up, but I will update more -- and by the way, I'm quite impressed with the attendance for the first week and overall, everyone has done great.  I'm thinking of a penalty for those who haven't lost anything this week..lol )

hi stilltrying,

that's right, it would be really helpful for me if everyone can edit their original post and fill in the list of weigh-in dates each sunday.  feel free to post any questions. i've been bad this past week also -- eating a lot of chinese/junk -- i'll be paying for it in the first weigh in...but promise to get back on track for next week.  we still have 15 weeks to go -- so hang in there ;0

I'm so glad so many of you guys are having plans around June 1st and that this date works out well for most of us.

Just to be clarify again, the group will open until Sunday (2/17) -- so feel free to sign up before then.

Welcome new joiners and thanks for being here with us.  I will update and finalize the list of participants on Sunday when the group closes.  We have a good number of people with us and I'm so excited.  I hope everyone will strive and reach their goal weight by June 1st -- if not, very close to their goal weight.

Feel free to post questions/concerns/personal stories/frustrations to keep the thread active :)

I'm so sorry for the delay everyone.  I've just moved to another state and still trying to settle down (and also get a new scale :( )  For the first weigh-in, I will make a record of everyone's current weight as their starting weight if that's okay with everyone. 

But please, hang in there.  I promise this will be worthwhile.
