| Weight Loss | Starting to think its not about diet and excersize.... | Dec 30 2008 16:40 (UTC) |
12 |
Well, here are my two cents, sometimes I feel like what I eat has a great effect on my body. It's not only about junk food but it is about everything else. For example, I have the bad habit of getting obsessed with a certain food and for the past 4 months it's been oatmeal with bread. This is my first winter so warm milk has won my heart but I noticed that I wasn't losing any weight even though I was exercisizing mostly everyday and I had a low calorie diet and it was because of the excess fiber I was getting. So maybe make sure you are not eating the same thing all the time or things that can make you bloat. Hope it helps |

Umm, I have realized after doing something like that a few times that after your bidy gets used to something, your old habits sometimes feel like a shock when you go back to them. I feel like im so in sync with my body now (like when I'm full or not) that even if I had the desire to eat a whole box of cookies, my body would just reject it half way there. It's a good thing, I guess. |

What apples are you eating? One average size apple is about 150 calories, so about 2 apples should give you 300 calories right there. |

O my god, i saw this post on the overview forum and i was like it cant be. Im going through the exact same thing, well, with some different details. I took Plan B and had a very short period a week after I took it, as off now it's been 4 weeks and no period yet. I got some cramping a week ago but no period. i took an ept and it was negative a few weeks ago so im going to take another one tomorrow. If it still negative, then ill just blame my hormones for the change. Good luck to you. Let me know what the outcome is. |

This is funny, i figured there would be more people doing this too. I don't think you should look at meals like good or bad but sometimes I'm glad that I've transformed my eating habits because before I would just eat anything just for the sake of eating more than for the pleasure it gave my taste buds. For example, now if I'm gonna have a burger, I think, you know how much yummier it would be to cook some beans and eat it with cassava bread (I'm like addicted to beans) and that makes me feel good, to know that I can make those decisions. |

I'm very happy to see that everyone is very patient and that maybe I should be like that too. thanks guys. |

I cant believe no one replied to this! I've been looking for past posts on this because I figured someone must have talked about this before. I don't know, it is really a dilemma, I usually just wash my hair every morning after workout and wear it curly but on the days I go to the hair salon I feel about working out cause it feels like im waisting my money so I usually spend about 2-3 days without working out. Having nappy hair is such a pain in the butt. I wish I didn't have to worry about it so much. |

I believe that when you weight yourself at night you have to take into consideration the fact that you have been eating stuff all day, drinking water all day and even your feet get swollen from walking all day so your weight is higher than it is in the morning when you are fresh, most of your food has been digested and you haven't had any intake for about 7 hours. |

| Weight Loss | headache when deprived of food for too long | Jul 29 2008 04:30 (UTC) |

Umm, maybe you are right, I hate taking supplements so I'm probably low on something. My diet is pretty balanced, somwhat, I eat veggies, plenty of fruit, a lot of protein and carbs and of course some fats here an there. i stopped drinking soda a year ago and coffee, well, that's a tough one. I know im not addicted to it because I only have it like once every two weeks but I do love my occasional espresso shot. Maybe I do need to get a check up. I don't think I have ever had proper doctor check up. My dad's a doctor so he always gave us (me and my brothers) what we needed when we were sick but we never went through a routinary check up. Maybe I should do that. Thanks! |

Well, I'm in the process of going into maintenance. My goal is 125 but I'm working hard to only lose a couple of more pounds while I gain some muscles. I still obviously have some fat to get rid of so I think 5 pounds less and muscles on top of that should do the trick. |

As of today I'm 129 but usually I am 130-135 lbs. I'm 5'6" and a female. I run for about 30 min about 4 days/week and do weights about 2-3 days/week depending on my mood. According to CC without any exercise I burn 1700 so with exercise I guess I burn around 2000 so 1200-1500 seems like a reasonable intake.

I typically eat around 1200-1500 and workout for like 30 mins. I think that's a good deficit. |

I do drink a lot of water in a day so I know it is not water but for example, I just ate right now and the headache went away so maybe it is just a way that hunger reveals to me. Thanks for the reply! |

Haha, eveliina, I'm with you. I majoring in physics and minoring in math. I know, like I love being outdoors but it is so not functional to try to workout problems outside, having papers flying around and walking around with my laptop everywhere so I just try to stay inside nowadays. Like you, I also try to have really intense workouts to make up for the sitting on my butt the whole day but I just wish that I could even work in a lab or something, at least I'll be walking around and office instead of just sitting for like my 12 waking hours. |

Well, I might not be the best person to advice on this but indian cuisine has a lot of vegetables so try to stick to that. Watch out for the rice and the breads (naan, roti) because they can easily add up. Usually when I go for indian I have palak paneer, it is my favorite indian dish, it is just spinach with cheese and I have it with one naan (oh my mouth is watering as I type) but it looks kinda oily when I have it so I'm not sure how healthy it is.

| Weight Loss | how many calories ?????? | Jul 22 2008 20:32 (UTC) |

I know exactly what you mean. I'm also at a good bmi and I also feel like I still have at least 10 lbs to loose before I feel fit enoug. I think amayou82 is right and lately I have been trying to do more strength training while still doing cardio but I have also been upping my protein intake because I think that when i lost weight before, I lost a lot of muscle and I'm trying to build those up again. |

| Fitness | running routine for only 30 min/day - Should I be running for more than 30 min? | Jul 18 2008 16:31 (UTC) |

Thanks guys! I checked the runnersworld website, the only problem is that I will not be able to spend more than 30 mins running everyday, since I only work out for about an hour and I split it between cardio and weights. i guess the max I could spend on cardio is 45 min but not more than that.

Haha, well, I said bread when I meant sandwich. I have turkey ham and cheese and milk and last weekend my boyfriend cooked a bunch of liver that I have sitting in the fridge and binge on during lunch. I think the reason why I'm binging is because I was used to have cookies and stuff everyday and now that I don't my taste buds miss it. |

I love this posts about ppl like me. I'm also 5'6.5" and when I started CC I was 145 and even though my bmi said I was normal weight, I knew I wasn't. Since last summer, I lost 15 pounds and now I fluctuate between 130-132. I'm trying really hard now to go to 125 but my body doesn't seem to want to do that with me. No matter how much I exercise and eating below 1500/day I'm still around the same numbers. |

| Weight Loss | i cant afford to eat 1200 calories/day | Jul 11 2008 00:21 (UTC) |

| I on the other hand kinda like having a tight budget. It keeps me from buying unnecessary things like cookies and stuff that I know will be no good for me. Also, it makes me appreciate what i DO get, like if I get turkey and cheese for sandwiches, I make sure I only eat one slice of each and put a lot of lettuce to make myself think I'm eating more. Doing this helps me from going over my calorie budget AND my real budget.
Hope it helps |

| Yes, definitely take my word for it. I felt so bad after my workout that I felt like crying for letting myself get to that point and what was so scary about it was thinking that maybe that's how eating disorders start and that maybe I was starting one but I'm feeling so much better now. Thanks for the replies. | |||
