The diet isn't "low carb" as such.  Some days your eat sandwhiches. You get to have condiments with carbs in them (bbq sauce, ketchup, fatfree salad dressing).  You never starve on the diet.  It works on the principles of age old body building pre-comp fat stipping which is rotating calories and proteins and carbs to trick your metabolism (apparently your metabolism has a memory).  So from what I have deduced is the diet works on portion control, eliminating sugary drinks, calorie rotation.  It's not the same as low carb diets as it doesn't put you into ketosis. Low carb diets working on this principle are the ones that cause you to put all of your weight in the first week you start eating normal food. FL4i doesn't.  You'll keep it off as long as you don't ever stuff yourself full.  Sorry, I can't type out the diet.  It's too long.  Every day out of the 11 is different and there are specific food prep guidelines.  You have to change your menu every 11 days anyway to keep tricking your metabolism.

I drink a bottle of water, (to take the edge off), brush my teeth (when your mouth is clean and minty you don't feel like eating and food tastes bad straight after), and go for a walk or do a workout dvd (exercise will take bloodflow from stomach to your muscles).  But if you weren't eating enough to begin with, that may just well be your problem.  Make sure you are eating some good low GI carbs too.  The fill you up and satisfy for longer - stay away from sugary stuff (fruit is ok) as it triggers cravings and will send you wild!

I did it in 2005 for my wedding and shed about 13kgs (28.6lbs) in about 6 weeks and it stayed of until I got pregnant..... I didn't have any adverse reactions.  I was on the old diet and it was quite repetative, but I've just discovered that there is a new menu with all of the things that I really missed in the last menu.  I'm actually lucky as I have access to both menus.  I have just started to try and lose my baby weight (no longer nursing).  I'm currently on day 4 and already feel lighter, but I only weigh myself once a week, so I'll keep you posted.  If you take a multi-vit during the diet you should be fine.
