| Actually shiptona...I am female. *grin* But at 5'9 and a medium frame, I would look scary at 152. The last time I weighed that was just before I hit puberty. I think I will just stop when I look and feel healthy. It will be interesting to see where that is now that I am in my 40s. |

| There is a lot of wisdom in what ihilani posts...especially the four numbered points. But, there are some things that are not good for you no matter what. That does vary from person to person...in most cases. "
I really got off aspartame after seeing the documentary Sweet Misery. Basically, the leftover byproduct of your body processing aspartame is the same chemical composition as wood alcohol! At that time I decided to stop all artificial sweetners that I could and I did see a weightloss within a couple weeks. I also found I craved sweets less when I am only using "natural" sugars. You know the old adage "Your Mileage May Vary. |

| I am doing the same thing and my new favorites are: eggplant, spaghetti squash (already mentioned), endive, kohlrabi, fiddleheads, chayote and parsnips. Any of those new to you? | |||

Ever since I watched the documentary Sweet Misery I have avoided aspartame and most other artificial sweeteners like the plague. A friend of mine who runs a health food store told me that I would drop 10 pounds in a year if I did nothing more than eliminate artificial sweetners from my diet (and of course not replace it with massive amounts of sugar *grin*). He seems to be right...I have lost weight with no other dietary changes. But...I miss sweets. I tried Stevia and couldn't get past the bitter aftertaste. So I am using sparce amounts of honey and sugar...and trying to figure out how much I can tolerate without it affecting my health/weight. |
