hi all,

sorry i've not been around since starting the post, i fell ill and was in hospital. i'm feeling better now but am going to do the weight loss more slowely, my main proirity is to stay healthy.

I'm glad lots of people are into the challenge. well done to everyone who's trying hard, i know its not always easy.

ps. i'd have to loose just under 2lbs  a week to reach my goal to at this rate! i'm going to check my calorie allowance etc and work out what i'm doing this week :)

hello, i weighted half a pound lighter this morning, prob just a fluctuation but its in the right way :)

i've made healthy lunch & snacks for work, so no reason to go near a vending machine. i think i'm going to buy a light hot choc drink to brink in for work, i need something sweet after lunch and it should work.

anyway feeling really good today, good luck to everybody!!

hi,

its great to see so many people up for this!!

i've had a really busy day at work so only just logged on! i'll read the posts properly from work tomorrow but just wanted to say welcome to everyone!

i've eaten ok today, only issue is i'm feeling tired tonight so fancy snacking. i bought home cake today... i work for a company that manufactures desserts... have so far managed to only try a tiny bit!

ps weighted 154lbs today.

Thats cool, i haven't started to exercise yet either, i play badminton a couple of times a week but i do that for fun rather than fitness. i am a member of a gym, I think mornings will be the best time for me but what can you eat before an early work out? i tried banana a few times before which isn't enough but if i eat say a bit of cereal i get a stitch!! need to find a way!

my evening meals are the biggest of the day too. its working for you and you 've lost ten pounds which says a lot! :)

where abouts are you from? i'm in the UK so its around 9pm here. I'm going to log off in a few mins but will check in tomorrow!

i suggest we start weight in's tomorrow and carry on every thursday.

 i can add names & weights on my original post at the top if that helps.

i'm starting to get excited about this!! :)

hi!

i usually eat five/six times a day, usual three main meals and three snacks.

my snacks will consist of yogurt, fruit, milk, nuts & dried fruit.

i'm a vegetarian and usually pack my lunch and two snacks for work! i'd love to start 2009 by hitting my goal weight.

how about you guys?

hi, i've booked myself a holiday to Rome in March! thats just over six weeks to go :)

hoping this will motivate me to lose a few pounds, i cant seem to get started after xmas. i've lost a total of 14lbs (lost 18 gained 4).

I'd like to think since my bodys got used to being a bit lazy over the last couple of months i may be able to shock it with some exercise. going to begin again on friday 1st feb. wish me luck!

thanks sammii08, it is nice not to have to wait till lunch time to chat!

i'm playing a few hours of badminton tonight so have let myself have half a bounty bar... wish it lasted a little longer, lol anyway hope everyone has a lovely wkend.

ps. could someone let me know how you do things on this post? do you weigh in or is it more motivational? cheers

my start weight was 154.0lbs, i'm now 139.0lbs and my goal is to be 120.0lbs if my body will allow it!

hi new comers.

mschmidt013 i think its really a nice thing your doing out there. are you going to be home in time for christmas? as for no scales it shouldnt be a big problem. keep focused on the things that matter, like eating as well as you can, going for long walks/exercising. it will make you feel great. do you have a routine already?

7mcg, we dont have a strict way of doing things here, no weigh in days, no cheat days, thats because different things work for differnet people. i created this post because i wanted to meet people with the same goals, that is

'we do our absolute best to reach our goals by new years day'

so i personally dont have room for a cheat day as that wouldnt work for me, if it works for you then thats great please do it. As you know there isnt really that many weeks left to new years so here we will help each other stay positive, focused and goal orientated through the next six weeks.

you're so close to qualifing, i'm excited for you!

i still havent exercised but i finally have lovely fresh food in the house. tomorrow i will weight myself and this week i plan give my body what it needs; fruit, veg, salads, nuts, lentils, proteins, dairy. i'm having no artifical/ready made stuff and the big thing for me is that i'm going to attempt to drink a lot of water this week. would you believe i find drinking water tough to do!? i'm going to try to get eight glasses/2L a day. lets see how it goes...

also sticking to 1250 cals a day. i havent been counting since we started as been studying etc but eating well help should help keep me focused.

katydid22 thats amazing! you must be so pleased with your results. so its the final stubborn pounds, we can do it together! lets keep strong everyone!

we'll keep each other going through all the christmas parties, meals, work do's, chocolates etc :)

hi everyone, (welcome burnyh!)

I'm hungry! what to make for dinner? hmmm...

ps. styding is going well, i had two qustion based days, where we do exam questions under exam conditions wihout an books etc and i've been scoring an averge of 80%. i need 50% to pass both exams so fingers crossed i should get by. ust need to keep practising.

Cant wait to have my life back, free time yaay!

NOOOOO!!! i didnt mean that your making excuses! i meant that its crap that the gyms not got any power and you couldnt go.

Sorry i didnt realise it could be read that way, wow i just re read it, sounds nasty. i was rushed and didnt read it before posting. forgive me if i hurt your feelings!

ps. well done for going out for that run :) whats it like in egypt weather wise? im in the UK and its freezing. i cant imagine jogging out there! will have to find some other form of exercise. ill be back to playing 5 hours of badminton a week soon so that should make some difference i guess.

jebollz that is crap, the powers gone? oh well theres really not much you can do about, hope you enjoyed your day! I'm still not exercising. one more week till exams are over then no excuses i have to get out there and feel the burn.

waelkd awesome five pounds! it wont all be water, i bet 21 rounds worked up a sweat. have fun training.

Hi,

i weighted half a pound more too this morning so have 12 to loose, i've a got a few exams next week so for the next two weeks i wont get any exercise in so i'll concerntrate on the eating side of things. after the 22nd Nov i plan to exercise a lot up right up till new years

hi see you guys have me smilling already. lets get this done! i am so in the mood to ditch these last pounds and buy nice clothes that fit me! (everything else is too big and i dont want to buy till i hit goal)

waelkd, i used to be into muay thai too, i was in the fittest shape ever then, that was 6 years ago. you must be wicked if your fighting. i love it but cant find anywhere decent to train locally.
