| Thank you again for the responses, juniwolf, your was especiialy insightful. Krisie, I do have help, I have a therapist, nutritionist and visit my doctor regularly. And I know a 1,200 calorie diet isn't anyones, especially a teens, ideal way to loose weight, but I never said my intentions were to go on this type of diet, again, I am curious a to what the questions ask. I don't want to come off as rudde or anything, I'm sorry if it sounds that way! But anyway, thank you all so much for the responses(: | |||

| Thank you for the replies so far, and starcrossed, I am aware and that is why I said that. I know the dangers of eating too few calories, I have already suffered from an ED, and am educated on my own body. As I said previously though, I am curious as the to answers of my question, no intentions implied. Again, thank you both for you replies though. (: Anyone else? |

| Foods | is there anything wrong with fiber 1? | Jul 31 2008 17:51 (UTC) |

| I LOVE the taste of the original fiber one, I add it to everything. The only thing that seems 'bad' about it is the artifical sweetner, but if your not sensitive or partial to it, I say go for it. The original is really good in my opinion, it tastes sweet to me. I put it in my oatmeal, yogurt, or just eat it as cereal or plain. Yum(: | |||

| I'm not too sure but my nutritonist says that carbs are an important part of recovery, and we can kind of eat a bit more than normal people, haha I know this sounds odd and I know your far along in your recovery (congrats by the way! All your replies and posts are really inspiring, you're doing great!) So I hope this helps a bit! (: | |||
| Recipes | So, 2.5 pounds of carrots are in my fridge | Jul 30 2008 02:26 (UTC) |

| You can make healthier carrot muffins useing the carrots (shredded) with whole wheat flour and whatever add ins you want subsitutuing sugar for a nautral sweetner such as maple syrup or honey, or for a lower calorie version, splenda or another artifical sweetner. Also, eggwhites instead of whole eggs and instead of oil or butter, use applesauce, or use 1/2 the fat and the rest with a fat replacer. Add ins could be rasins or other dried fruits, and really whatever else you want. Also quickbreads or a healthier 'carrot cale' not to mention just eating plain or in salads, spread with pb or dipped in veggie dip or hummus! Heres a link with some carrot recipes if you want more(:! http://www.carrotrecipes.net/ |

| Foods | What is the meaning of devastation…. ? | Jul 30 2008 02:19 (UTC) |
|
| I used to think nuts were good for you.. even covered in chocolate and eating the whole bag.. lol. It was dissapointing but not suprising to learn that nope, not so healthy, haha. But btw you probebly already have heard or thought of this but Annies makes a 'healthier' alternative to Kraft mac n' cheese and if you only eat one serving and bulk it up with veggies like brocolli and some kind of protein (I really enjoy canned all white chicken in mine) it's really not too bad. Calorie wise.. http://www.annies.com/naturalmacandcheese Theres a few choices of different kinds mostly around 270 calories.. So : Mac n cheese : 270 calories 3 oz brocolli : 30 calories 2 oz canned white chicken breast in water : 50 Total is : 350 calories and healthier than Kraft, not to mention more filling because the veggies/chicken make it a bigger portion and with the added protein, more filling (: |

| Yesterday I was riding in the car with my boyfriend, and he popped in an old Eminem CD and started rapping.. Haha he dosent even like rap, but from listning to it when he was younger, knew all the words, and for some reason, I thought it was really hott (: Lol, yes, it was Eminem which is quite sad, but for some reason, I liked it. Maybe it was just seeying a different side of him because he rarley listens to rap? Not too sure. | |||
| Health & Support | can i eat grapefruit while taking zoloft? | Jul 21 2008 16:14 (UTC) |

| ... That's pretty odd. I'm on zoloft, and no one has ever said anything to me about grapefruit, and my doctor, nutritionist, etc. are usually pretty good about telling me about that kind of stuff. I've had my presciption filled twice, and it says nothing on the bottle. Maybe it was a mistake? But to make sure, I would deffinatly call your pharmacy where you got it filled, then if they don't know, your doctor just to make sure. | |||
| Foods | Need to up my protein | Jul 13 2008 21:11 (UTC) |
|
| Add legumes, low cal protein bars are around 70 - 200 calories and can include anywhere from 5-35 grams of protein. Make your protein powder ina blender with skim milk or soy milk, you can blend in tofu (lite for low calorie) to add even more protein. Also, if you have a GNC or store like that near you, I really like 'protein pudding'. It comes in a can, comes in about 3 different flavors that I've found, and has 20 grams of protein with 100 calories. | |||

Thanks, agruskin, your probebly right. But just to see if the number would change, i decided to weigh myself this morning. For some reason I was back down to 108? I don't relly know whats going on with my body right now, it seems like everythings fluctuating and adjusting, so I think I'm just going to stay at 2,000 and see what happens, letting my body adjust by itself. And goodluck everyone with your goals! |

Aww, thanks you guyss (: And its good to know I'm not the only one.. haha. Oh and wishfulxthinking.. I make it sometimes when I'm in a rush because its cranberry instant packets oatmeal and then I add in orange marmalade.. haha quite simple (: If you have the time though, you can make it from old fashioned oats, orange juice, splenda or sugar (or whatever sweetner), fresh cranberries or dried, or minus the orange juice and add marmalade. rReally any way you can add the orange cranberry flavor is good, i love itt(: |

| The last time I went to subway, I was flabbergasted.. yupp, I just used that kind of vocbulary - it was that suprising - by the number of meat slices they stuck on my 6 inch sub. Usually I get the 6 inch turkey, but I decided to try the turkey and ham, and they stuck 4 slices each of both the turkey and the ham. ... I don't think that was right.. |

| When I get really full, I like to drink my calories. One of my favorite combos is.. Peanut Butter Nut milk ( Or any other kind of milk you want, I just think nut milks taste good and can be high cal ) Cocoa Dates honey Maple syrup blend together with ice cubes, and its really good. To make even more high cal, add shredded coconut or more dried fruit. protein powder is also a great add in, or if you want to invest in it, at places like GNC they sell weight gain powder, its like 700 cals+ per scoop. But I can find things easily enough in my house to add in to these shakes/smoothies to be high cal. Some more combos and add ins are - Nuts - ice cream - frozen yogurt - maple syrup - Any nut butters - Yogurt - Higher cal fruits such as mangos or bananas - Avocados (be careful what you add this in, haha you might noe like the taste in certain blends - 100% juices - Fruit/vegetable purees - Coconut milk.. very high calorie - ensures, boosts, etc. - wheat germ - Flax seed - Flax oil - Whipping cream - Chocolate-strawberry syrup (although not the healthiest choice..) -Sugar (same here) - Half and half - Carnation Instant breakfast - Jam/Jelly - Malt powder - Condensed milk - Eggnog - Oatmeal - Eggs (be careful with raw eggs..) Try any of those things combined, and they turn out pretty good no matter what, haha. |

| Gibbit, woah I just read through your post, thats awesome! You've made so much progress, I hope you realize that you deserve this.
Myself, I;ve upped my intake to 2,000 which is the highest I've ever gone. I don't even need to gain that much more, but I feel that I want to try and maintain while being lightly active some days of the week eating this amount. Is that possible? Today I weighed myself after around 3 days of eating this amount and it said I gained a pound which is kind of discouraging.. Also, my period came today back and worse than ever! I'm on seasonale birth control and it says that you spot a lot with breakthrough bleeding the first year.. but it has never been this bad before. I'm thinking its because of the extra calories? Idk, its just been really hard doing this latley, anyone in a similar situation or have any advice? Everyone seems to be doing great latley! |

| Aw, thank you very much for your reply..
Yeah, I can't even beleive how little damage I did to my body previously from what I was eating - nothing. I'n glad to not have any too serious complications from what I did. You are very tiny girl! And congrats on the eggs and toast, thats huge! You're lucky, I'm not allowed to exersize quite yet and wasn't allowed to do any physical activity in my recovery, but I'm starting soon. Don't stress over missing one day though, enjoy eating even though its a struggle, your doing great! Anyone else trying to do 2,000 or have before? Whats your experience? |
