hi guys! i am so glad to come across this forum. I have a major bingeing problem, where i eat thousands of calories in minutes, and then can't stop. this is usually followed by a few more days of bingeing, because i feel a diet is so hopeless! anyway, hopefully this group will help. I need to lose 20 pounds i think... i don't want to think about how i gained so much here in college :( currently, i am working backstage at a theater, which means there are plenty of times of just sitting around, and plenty of snacks. i binged all weekend, and tried to get back on track today, but i just ate about 3 servings of flat earth baked fruit chips, as well as eating wasabi peas at rehearsal. sooo... a minor binge, but still a binge! tomorrow will be success! |

hey! i too am a freshman in college who accidently gained about 15 pounds this year. ah! i'm hoping to loose enough to not be completely repulsed in my bikini this summer, but i have so much trouble sticking to a diet! i exercise a lot, but with the way i eat, it doesn't really matter. anyway, i guess i am just posting this to say i understand... hopefully the end of this semester will be different for both of us! i am so determined- christinalauren, you are such an inspiration!

| Weight Loss | Working hard, waiting on results..... | Aug 30 2007 03:11 (UTC) |

| i completely understand where you are coming from- i too am on week four, and have definately had some pizza and beer. in fact, i just finished having some ice cream (i'm still at under 1400 for the day, and i like rewards). but what i have figured out is that i would rather go up to 1500 cals a day and actually continue losing slowly than get freaked out by "cheating," feel bad about myself and give up- what i have done plently of times before. i ride my bike 30 or more a day, try to eat good, and have lost four pounds so far. But the greatest progress i have had so was when i got in a bad mood and rather than wanting to eat, i wanted to pedal my bike. yahoo! everyone has thier own "secret formula"- i feel better when i don't stress about food. so thats my new goal. eat well, exercise, and wait for the weight to go down! i hope this helped a little. i just want to you to know that i have had days like that so often!! | |||

| thank you so much for this post. yesterday i ate way too much food, and not truly healthy food either. so now today, i feel guilty, sick and just want to give up this diet. i have been trying to lose a pound a week, and it is not going well, even though it seems as though i should have, when i add and subtract the calories. but though i usually give up at this point, i am sticking to it. i rode my bike for an hour, and ate better than yesterday. seeing these posts have helped me alot :) | |||
| Weight Loss | Calorie Question | Aug 10 2007 04:18 (UTC) |

| hi, i have a similar question... i have been eating around 1500 calories a day, and burning around 500. i'm tall and big (5'10" 177 lbs) and so it calculates that i burn over 2000 calories a day without the exercise factored in. So it seems as though i'd be losing plenty of weight, right? i have barely lost a pound, and then today i had a really bad day and actually replaced dinner with cookies... and more cookies... so i probably ate 1900 calories. i burned around 300 still. But i weighed myself, and it said i weighed 179, up 2 lbs! i just don't understand, i'm ending even a bad day like today with a deficit, and yet i'm not losing weight, i'm gaining it! what am i doing wrong?! | |||

| i'm so glad to see some a group for my sized people! i'm slightly over 5'10" and weigh between 175 and 180, depending the week I had. My butt and thighs are causing me to slip into 14 size clothes, something i really don't want, so, i've decided to seriously start exercising and dieting... but i'm scared scared scared i'm going to fail at this diet attempt like i have with others... how do you all stay motivated? | |||
