UGH - my last lengthy reply didnt post so sorry if this seems to the choppy, to the point but will try to remember half of it LOL!! 167.4 - slow progress deserved. Exercise non existant and indulgent period, lucky to even be down. Just working through the drama here and especially this Sunday leaving for another 1-2 months. Not clear on time - just returning to a house to sell and a move up here - no pressure LOL. This visit Richard and I have been very fattening to each other - just indulgences in a stressful time (and this countdown to our big break apart is a beating). KAREN - 230s, HELLO! Right before the holdiays too - im so excited for you. This has got to be the most time tested diet period of the year. Super happy for you girlie! Amanda, congrats on your loss and enjoy your family trip! I made my first tomato sauce this week (Richard doesnt like jarred - snob LOL). Apparantly heavy on garlic but good (im not a tomato sauce fan - a spoonful goes far for me). Rachael - thanks for your advice, easy to get twisted when trying to be the reasonable one that i can end up too accommodating. Luckily when revisited, Richard told her he wouldnt have me up in a hotel and refused to discuss it further with her (".. but did you ask her to do it" she was insisting). Counselor helped with perspective earlier this week. Heres to your next weeks weighin! Welcome Meg - im usually around more, just not much computer access. You should enjoy having a scale handy - when i finally got mine found i was on it way too much and still am LOL. Glad to have you with us. Okay, I think that was the gist of my prior novel that didnt post :D |

seriously delayed with 168.6. yay karen and amanda on your continued path down!! at least im down from before. Richard hadnt seen the 230s for some time but going thru a rough patch with his wife now that he's told her of me on this 2nd visit - the first person he's spoken of since their separation 2yrs back. shes really applying pressure when we'd figured she might not be jumping for joy but at least work with us and instead shes gone the opposite route to clearly make things more problematic than they need to be. he's under big pressure with her and its rolling over to me (expecting me to be put up in a hotel so his kids could stay over which never was asked of him before - his place isnt even furnished outside sofa tv bed and kitchen appliances so one kid would have a couch the other on the floor). this clearly is not in the best interest of the kids and my last visit she didnt know of he had not problem making time for me and his kids. he and she will be returning to a counselor Tuesday whom he hopes will shed some light and ideally make her less vindictive. so im pushing food - something ive never done but in these last few days together (one week left), something of comfort since hes been so beaten up over all this. thankfully we're still okay and moving forward. dont know when i will see a computer again but heading from the library and hope to see updates from you beachers!! |

oh my bev - you MIL must have no awareness of how she says things. My sisters says things exactly like that - so fond of her own opinion practically disregards others even when it applies to their own hair or what they eat. nothing like having an opposing opinion pushed on you as if it were more valid. can you tell you touched a nerve here. i can handle it a weekend before the "no or i wouldnt have taken a slice" and "why would i have you cut my hair since im wearing it the way i like". my sister likes to fix people in ways she perceives they are broken. yes she means well so i do try to cut her slack but like i said, it gets old quick being chided into not doing things as i like but as she does. im normally easy going but ive two brothers whove cut off communication with her because they go crazy. because of the good intent, i had and am back in touch now many years going. that personality type i think is where MILs get their bad name (think Everyone Loves Raymond). |

See that bump on my head? Its from when i fell off the side of the earth but here I is. Weight 162.2 but im okay with it as im coming off the end of my period. was nice to get too because this summer it switched from month end to month beginning and when it didnt pop in early Oct, was hoping I simply was defaulting to prior schedule. I leave for vacation tomorrow. Have been up to eyeballs with inspectors, appraisers, foundation folks, roofers, AC - just an open house of house people before I run trying to get updates as will be gone 3 weeks and wanting house on market asap. note i will have internet while gone and far less distraction than here so expect to be here more. Richard told his wife (ex? separated 2 years) of my pending arrival because septs 3 weeks unrevealed meant confusioin why he couldnt just do this or she couldnt drop something off while he was gone. we were testing the waters so no stayed low key but this is the real deal and im moving there come beginning of the year. Rachael - doesnt sound impatient to me and ive had those times too. wondering if it really is just sodium and your sodium watch will have you seeing what youd have expected to. your doing so much right - optimistic for you going forward with likely less water retention. Kristy - i hope sb is treating you well. was reading you food issues so hoping you explore the range of the SB list of foods. i could practically eat the same thing 3x a day and admit to practically doing that lately. please hang in there exploring SB many foods but remember if you ever decide to go another diet route other than SB, youre still welcome here! Amanda - hope your fresh start is going well. something great about a sunrise - always a new day. Sounds like your doing great with food info and ideas. sounds like your keeping the eating plan fresh. Karen - thanks for keeping track, with my shot memory the chart always helps me remember where people are at and even threre posts about it (i suffer from chronic brain farts). i dont necessarily recommend it but i finally did it - lost the yolks. a week now and telling you, my omelet sister as ive lived off them all week. mom used to have to remove all the white on my sunny side up eggs and here i am eating completely white omelets.

| Foods | how gradually? | Oct 23 2009 21:23 (UTC) |
|
the suggested method is start with one fruit, one starch daily. watch how your appetite is affected but typically a week - earlier if you notice no appetite change or slightly longer if you have cravings. gradually increase to 2-3 fruits and 2-3 starches daily. it will help in the beginning if you accompany a starch or fruit with some protein if your carb sensitive. |

(suspects im not only one who misbehaved) and was a few spoons of mac cheese enough. not with yesterday. very awkward day with sis in law and me visiting with appraiser because considering family house sale. she and i are very tight but the house is for her son/ nephew so as shes pointing out only negatives while hes appraising im starting to get hurt and then not knowing if itd be high or low from my purchase price, i was disappointed. lucky i didnt full out binge in which i was still on it but i did finish off a good size bowl of remaining mac cheese. so weds spoons. thursday the bowl. i think i can make it through one day like today !!! there is also the discovery of yes i want to move up with Richard like yesterday but the reality of what that entails plus the unknown. manageable pressure - its just money and arrangements, not people at risk but talk about a comfort binge. actually dropped today to 164.2. ha, lets see how long that lasts but feeling strong now (like yesterday morning before ... eek!). NOW FOR ALL YOU OTHER BEACHERS ... ... ... AHEM .... i said AHEM .... |

165 weighin had been so good and had a mac/cheese moment last night. several spoonfuls followed by the dependable later cravings which i filled with fruit, sf pudding and nuts. was afraid i might have started a binge but kept focusing on 2 weeks departure for seeing Richard and know how my weight can skyrocket with them so stayed scared straight LOL. good luck every every body. barely had time to come here, company coming soon! will check back in though to read and update |

Proud- i dont blame you, what a happily startling amount for loss! phase1 can certainly kickstart the plan but those big losses are great for motivation i know! mustve been happy morning. congrats on job and plan to adjust scheduling so it doesnt work against your efforts. 165.0 a nice even number but baby step losses. once again, wondering how close this is to my average weight as i really have to push to drop into the 50s but at least ive proven i can do it. course when i finish with 2nd surgery to remove hanging leg skin (all plenty of the yuck of it), will love to see what my what minus excess skin will be. im thinking with two legs ive a shot of naturally falling the 50s since theres so much of it. im eligible 6 months post prior removal up top which was June 1st but there is that pesky financial thing and my credit cards still under the pain of surgery one. if im able to sell my house, i should be on track though. good beaching everyone |

| Walmart, home of all my SB groceries except produce since finding cheap hispanic grocery stores. Didnt do a comparison amanda to the SB list but sounds like a good and delish menu.
ugh - much still on the mind. so distractable too so it completing anything is always a challenge. weight is going great and 2.5 weeks left before PA departure. grilled chicken in the fridge but as usual, the bodys asking for omlet and a late breakfast at that. dying - out of gum and must clean up enough to make a trip so my nicotine call isnt filled with food instead of SF gurm chewing. |

cant believe ive been gone so long - two days, right? Della - im sorry about your dad and the pain such circumstances would cause. Ive certainly missed seeing you. please please do what you need to for coping thru this time. thank you for being so straight forward with us as you know we care. take care of you - we will be here when you feel up to returning but let us know your taking care of making through this tragedy now and hugs to you !! Rachael - know youll do your best and when its too difficult, you always bounce back like you already began. Tuesday is Prouds weighin too so youll have company :D heres to being provided with some good restaurant food at least!! proud - you can use your search function on page one of this thread to see when foods are allowed. I did and 2T PB are allowed daily phase one and here are the rest foods LINK 1 . Beans and nuts/seeds are the encouraged foods that are also quanity limited because theyre calorie dense. Speaking of peanut, i need portion control and thank goodness for Dollar Tree Stores. They sell Lance brand prepackaged peanuts at 0.9 oz, 150 calories in a 6 pack for of course $1. Thats only cost .17 each. Snack bars spike my hunger, im so carb sensitive but these are calorie equivilant and stick with me plus per ounce as cheap as the canister but handy packaged. im going to post about those over in Food Forum - ive stocked up on them. great to have on my PA trips, one coming 10/30. |

Welcome Amandie!! 166.8 for today good luck Rachael with tonight. If anything, during the day my weight creeps up so I cant imagine a nightly weighin. amandie - glad you came out of the shadows and happy to have you! Looking forward to your next weigh in after you get started Saturday with groceries. We will be rooting for you!' Betting you will success again with SB! Karen - you still got the that 240s glow - a flux may mean an even better next Thursday loss :D Good luck to the rest of the beachers!!

proud- i agree thursday is a date we update but if your weighins from Tuesday work perfectly. CONGRATS on you 4 lb loss - hello! what a great loss and happy happy for you. that steady walking without stopping is great for keeping your heartbeat up and practically a mile - way to go. keep up the great work and see it become habit for you. rachael - thursdays already tomorrow and great on the travel weight loss. i find my second return from seeing Richard has me bumping up instead of dropping travel weight. comfort eating and vegging (vejjing?) as in non activity in. Potentially a return on nov 1-22nd and tightening ship this morning. yes thanks for protein / hunger and it took long for me to learn cottage cheese has plenty too. bev- enjoy your smaller 5 lb loss and the anticipation of post TOM losing. i never was one to frustrate much over TOM because it meant a nice healthy weight drop to come. if the house sale occurs, i will likely stay put while nephew lives with mom (Alice) to save up some - its an extremely adaptable situation. serious cleaning of house today though - calorie burning one ideally. |

Bet eggs would get a real punch from that pepporoni. When I sautee shredded cabbage in pam spray, it could be pretty bland but I use spicy mrs dash, bought for kiki and something i never thought i'd use with my aversion to spicy but just a little is a bite that makes the cabbage interesting. i also just got fudgesicles - hadnt for some time. wanting richard to try them but waiting until his 'treats' in the house are gone so not to be a direct comparison to actual cake, etc. the walmart revampings happened here too. The grocery set up made much more sense before but now its stretched and expanded so when having to relearn it and i live there so hopefully this will come more easily than other things to me. Yesterday with Richard off ended up being heavier food than normal. Since he works all week and I leave upcoming saturday, didnt want food being an issue so had grilled steak (good), canned refried beans (notsogood), cukes (good) in bleu cheese (notsogood) and bites of carrot cake he gave while he ate it. Im at 161.6 this morning - wonder if the black jeans would slip on for today - hmmm. Im good on a new day though and sigh keeping busy until hes off work again. |

Original Post by oh155: So true - thats one perk about walking. It forces your hand to then walk your way back home. I was dropped in downtown which isnt city but serious artsy world so I am in heaven. Found the library LOL where Im typing from. In my bag, triscuits, nuts, apple, poptop can of progresso and full bottle of crystal light. Almost brought one of the Brothers all natural chip bags but plenty of food. Got dropped off 8am, 1.5 hrs back and things are just starting to open. This is not Richards'scene' so nice i get to soak it in by myself but he has been accommadating. When i jokingly mentioned an indie theater, he came home with info on the movies playing there. He doesnt have to earn brownie points with me but going without him today likely earns me a night or Sunday of choice activity. I asked a guy in a particularly artsy cafe shop for a suggestion and he spoke of this botanical garden that has a night show. He said if he wasnt working tonight, he'd take me. Wait, what?! I dont get approached. Once the guy was cute but asked if I had any change. ugh! The other was whether I wanted to go to his place, watch a movie and get high. great - why spoil me when we can jump in your car backseat. The fact this guy was likely 10 yrs my senior made my day even if it was innocent flirting on his part. Rachel - your post made me hungry and its too early for that LOL. Theres a walmart here thankfully even if the food is limited. Richard and I went yesterday - did not expect him to come in with me. His wife/kids live same city and despite 2 yr separation, way too early to come out to his kids and only next visit will his wife learn of me. Still testing waters. Funny if I'd not my own child Id be more demanding but watching Kiki adjust to her dads girlfriend at her younger age, i can appreciate his situation. Big day ahead still. Found a fly - today free art class today, may attend. Also neighboring city with pinic in the park activities. At least options but this downtown itself has been fun so may simply continue exploring all the corners of it. Time to split. Rachael, dont stay at work all day and if you, id start my 24 month countdown

Ha - a bump up to 159.0 but with no splurge, just serious normal eating and no activity but Richards gone for the day shortly with his kids (Hershey Park) so Im looking for where I can be dropped off to spend the day and still be able to walk myself home so forced physical activity. The clothes are still good and Ive a week *sob* before Im headed home to continue. Hes got desserts from work - some carrot cake and the peanut butter cake with choc frosting cubes in the fridge. Last night the cubes and I had 2 - theyre reasonably small yet not SB in the least. No occasional treat will sabatoge and although im strict enough to still pass those things up normally, trying not to be 'that' girl around him. My thing is if it seems worth it, I can taste but please understand may not want to indulge to keep up with certain clothes. Hope everyone is enjoying the beach!! |

Serious post potty drop to 156.6. Betting that may bump up as the food comes thru since its 2-3 days between potty weights but loving it while its showing its face. That and the point six - odds always seem to be for it having the point six. Rachael - got to love that anticipated bump down following your trip. Not for you, i wouldnt even be consious of salt/ water and now with the rare restaurant i can predict it like clockwork. Definitely sounds like a trip your happy to be home from. And watch that mirror thing - nobody deserves microscope observation and we certainly arent under it from others like we do ourselves sometimes. Karen - summer flu, got to be hating that. Kind of thinking better to pair it up with TOM and have them both out of the way together! Much sleep to you and the dr said fluids - for the flu and dinner sodium. Wash those germs and bloating salts out out out! |

159.6 Even 2 lbs and im ready for better 150s but its a start. Im ready to wet those jeans and dry them because I must 'shrink' them up instead of having them fit better after theyve been worn. Yesterday i had - dum diddy dum - three omlettes LOL. I knew nothing was out of the freezer and we were having ones for dinner but breakfast of course and it was so darn good that it was on for lunch. Im in big trouble if I ever tire of them. Each one only had one egg, rest whites and vegs vegs vegs. This morning - an apple and progresso light pot roast soup for breakfast. Wishing everyone good numbers today! |

Wow - serious walking yesterday because I went the wrong direction so the walk, backtracking, rerouting equals some soreness today. I 'think' (was I dreaming?) I had a 158.0 during a bathroom stop this morning but after breakfast was at 160 and later 161. Hoping my walk pays off some for tomorrow morning. Cutting 5 giant *GIANT* onions - karen, do you find it a challenge keeping up with the veg prep for omelettes? Sitting pretty - 4 good size containers of slice onions, 2 of green peppers and panic call to Richard - we need mushrooms!! This IS the mushroom capital - Kennett Square PA. You think I lie - check you pack of onoins and the city likely will be listed. Grocery stores arent any cheaper but you can buy the 3 lb bag and I finished of two of them in 10 days. Every windows open - Richards noted about the onion smell LOL. He's guilty as me on loving them but took me to be cooking them nonstop. I said when he starts getting comments at work let me know. |

This past weekend was my trip to the sure and every indulgence worth it!! Arrived Friday for dinner at Mex restaurant (I left TX for NJ to eat Mex?) and had a tongue torta. Tortas not SB friendly but my fav mex - ultimate sandwich with avocado, big bun, mex mayo, onion, etc plus my fav mex meat choice- beef tongue. So amazing I was gushing and luckily wasnt what concerned Richard - acting like 'skinny girl who doesnt eat" in front of them. I joked that I wanted that sandwich every meal for my visit and yup, Richard brought my back saturday for lunch. I also grabbed a slice of tres leche cake, my favorite cake not that Im a cake fan- its soaked in coconut milk/ condensed milk. That was to come home sunday which was weird because I wanted my sins left at the beach. I did the next best thing. Finished it Sunday after gettnig home before Monday started LOL. Granted there was also the mini canolli I had which last night which he brought home but otherwise the house is clean, the eating otherwise is in control. My weight was 158.8, yesterday was 161 but now back at 159.6. Think Im fine for remaining in the 50s this weekend. Wore my black jeans all Saturday (my skinny jeans). Did put in some serious walking on the boardwalk but time to walking while Richards at work - why not, I plan on keeping these black jeans fitting :D |

cannoli - woohoo! Visiting PA/NJ now and that was my anticipated treat but the actual cannoli in the round shell and had it last night. Canolli filling is basically ricotta, sugar with usually mini choc chips and candied fruit but its really the cheese and sugar. This can be made with lowfar store bought ricotta, drain if able or needed and mix in artificial sweetner. You can also add cinnamon or cocoa powder.
