Foods Need ideas for Lunch and Dinner Aug 19 2008

I am on the road for business and was finding it VERY difficult to find a place to eat out that had something healthly so since I only had a Microwave in the Hotel room, I hit the supermarket last night!

Frozen Weight Watchers Mac and Cheese over a Bag of StreamFresh Veggies!  The steamFresh veggies come in these great bags that you just pop into the microwave and they steam up!  No mess and dinner was made in about 5 minutes with just a microwave!  Doesn't get much easier than that.  :)

I think the Veggies were about 175 calories for the bag and the WW Mac and cheese was about 300 - 400.. Not bad for a VERY filling dinner.

I felt the same way a few months ago.  I was losing weight, things were going good and I decided to stop counting calories.  I did still track my weight.

Fast forward to yesterday when the Doc called with the result of my glucose test.  Diabetes Type 2.

I'm back counting and trying to reverse the effects.

Not to say that this is the result of me stopping (it was the years of eating wrong and no excersise that did me in) but I kinda wish I would have stuck with what I was doing...

Just venting a little.  Good luck..

Weight Loss Where can I find what my daily intakes should be for my body/size? Jul 22 2008

That was a great Reply.  Thanks.  I recently was diagnosed with diabetes Type 2 and am struggling to understand sugar intakes and other 'chemistry' values.  Your posts was a good step in the right direction.

Thanks.

Since this is a diet forum, A good analogy might be waiting until you had enough money for a new wardrobe before starting your diet.  :) Marriage and Dieting should both have a positive effect on one's life if the individual puts in the work and effort required for success.

In my humble opinion, there is no right time financially to get married.  People are people - i.e. if you are both spenders, you will never find the right time to get married, if one is a spender and one a saver, you will never find the right time to get married and if you are both savers, you will be fine married or single.

Saving is Saving whether you are married or single.  When you are married, you need to have open communications and a willingness to achieve common goals.  If you are doing them separately or  together, to me it's the same.

BTW: The cycle never ends - When you get married, you start saving for the right time to buy a house - When you buy a house, you start saving for the right time to have children - when you have kids, you start saving for college and there is never a good time to splurge on vacations - When college is done, you start saving for the right time to retire.

Enjoy your life - Money and finances will sort themselves out if everything else is in place.

I watch the weight Chart.. As long as the trend line (Green line) is going down, I am happy.  I weigh in everyday which probably isn't the best thing but since I focus on the trend line, occasional spikes in weigh ins don't bother me..  Only when the trend begins to reverse course do I worry. :)

I've lost about 20 lbs since August with about another 50 or so to go.  For me, the chart brought accountability to the diet.

Calorie Count Possible temporary solution for toolbar issue Aug 29 2007

Agreed.  The toolbar was probably the biggest reason I switched to CC.

Please update this thread when the toolbar is completed..
