Hi Everyone, Hope everyone in Texas is ok, Things look just awful down there. Hope everyone had a great weekend. My boyfriend and I bought a Crock-pot this weekend! Now I don’t have to stress about cooking after I work out at night and its great for south beach recipes! Today I am starting Pilates so I’m sure I will be in lots of pain tomorrow =/ |

| Rachel, I do understand were you are coming from. When you pass on cake or pizza everyone makes such a huge deal and I always feel like it singles me out. Its so strange how that works though. Its so "socically unexceptable" to be over weight, but if you pass on pizza everyone makes a huge fuss. Society really needs to decided which is which haha.
Sun, glas to hear you had a nice talk with your daughter! I have been missing the past few days. Work has been very hectic the past week. Hope everyone is doing ok after the storms. In NY we just got bad rain. I found a SB cookie recepie and decided it was a good rainy day to bake. I made oatmeal peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. They were completely sb friendly and they came amazing...however it was hard to just eat one. Lesson learned cookies in the house are a no no. Yesterday I wore shorts that I could barley button at the beginning of the summer, yesterday they were huge on me and didn't need to unbutton them to take them off! Its weird because my pants haven't been that huge on my but I guess that's because pants cover more ground haha |

Nik: I felt sick during phase one as well. Your body is still adjusting to your new diet. If you feel weak I would rest this week. You will feel much better next week! Katie: Good luck at school!! Sarah: Happy Birthday! Sun: Yay congrats on the weight loss!! Once again ate something bad this weekend. My family had a big Sunday dinner and I ate 3 raviolis... I guess that's no weight loss for me again this week. What I don't understand is I still don't ever go over on calories so shouldn't I still loose? Eh I keep trekking on...I did notice though that all my bras are way too big on me. of course the boobs have the be the first thing to go! Haha |

| hey,
I am going to a big picnic my friends throw every year and this is what i am doing. I am brining food that is a healthier version of something we would normally eat (ex http://www.hungry-girl.com/chew/chewdetails.p hp?isid=1520 and then rather then burgers I'm brining chicken burgers and low fat cheese). As for sweets, its really great to bring something that you would enjoy just as much as the bad stuff, only know that its not bad for you. I know someone is making cupcakes. So i am making whole wheat apple muffins. still sweet and yummy only not high in calories and bad carbs. Good luck stay strong ! |

Good luck today Rachel!! Thank you so much for your advice Sun i really appreciate it!. I figured out my calories for this weekend and i somehow actually underate all weekend. Turns out as bad as the deep fried dough is they are still only 75 calories each. Still VERY not SB ok. But you are right i need to put my foot down and just stop with the little things, because those are the things that mess us up in the end. Little cheats add up too. I think i also need to pay more attention to eating enough! I hope things even out after your vacation diet and your body gets back to the normal routine. |

| Morning everyone.
I need a bit of advice. I have been doing really great during the week I eat perfectly and work out every day. But then the weekend comes... In comparison to how I used to be I have been doing fantastic. However I haven't been perfect and I am worried that it is causing me to stall. I haven't lost weight again in two weeks now and I need to know if the weekends are the cause. So this is what I ate this weekend. Friday- I ate normally. At the end of the day my co workers and I relaxed and I got the munchies (..draw your own conclusions there haha) I had about 15 Swedish fish and two fat free, sugar free, low carb cookies. (BAD). When I got home I got Sushi which was fine because I hadn't eaten bread all week and planned on getting the sushi. That night I went to a party. I didn't eat any chips and I just sipped on one light beer all night. So in the end It was a partial win but the Swedish fish and cookies were a big mess. Saturday I ate great all day. Then at night my boyfriend and I went to the Feast. A Feast is like a really big street fair. It only happens once a year. The big thing to get there is zeppolies. Zeppolies are balls of dough which are fried and cover in powder sugar. Definitely the greatest thing you can ever taste. The feast only comes once a year so I had told myself that it was fine to treat myself because Its only a once of year treat. I ate 3 small ones. It was also about a 20 block walk there and back so I rationalized that you know I walked off a little of those calories...right? Yesterday I again was great until my aunt came over and brought some ice cream. I haven't told my aunts and uncles about my diet because I don't want to fail again in front of everyone (they don't care or judge me I'm just super self conscious) I had a tinny bowl of the ice cream so I didn't seem rude. So among all the great things I did this week I still ate some bad stuff. This is really stalling my weight loss isn't it? I guess I just need to hear it from someone else. I do think that if I were a normal person I would being loosing a ton of weight despite my slip ups. I really don't know anyone else who eats as healthy as I do and yet I am bigger then all of them. Sorry this was such a long post. |

Hey girls happy Friday!! Rachel: Congrats on the job!! How exciting!! Good luck I'm sure you will kick ass at the new job!. Be really careful with dehydration. I did that last weekend. I drank only coffee before I left to run, and ran in a completely black outfit while it was 90 degrees out. Bad idea. I only made half my route before I felt like I was going to collapse. drink up before working out!!! Sun: I hope your mom is ok. Geeze what a week you had. Katie: you must really have some patients to work with 1st graders! I'm sure that is a rewarding job though...and you get the whole summer off! Sarah: good luck on phase one! I haven't eaten any type of bread in about 6 days so tonight I am treating myself to brown rice Sushi...yummmyyy. My parents are both doing SB too. They went on it because my dad has a bad heart and very bad diabetes. Their is a test they do for Diabetes patients, I forget what is it called. The normal person will get a 6 on the test, a few months ago my dad got a 12, but after being on south beach for a month he is down to a 8! He's also down 2 insulin shots a day! I'm so happy he is doing so much better now. Its so inspiring to know how healthy this lifestyle can make you. Just thought id share...not only are we getting skinnier but healthier too!! |

| I am totally like that too. When i start to over eat its like you said a switch goes off and i am completely uncontrollable. I am on South Beach and i find that the restrictions help a ton. If i make the choice to eat a healthy meal in the first place it wont lead to a binge. Also veggies and meat are supper filling.
Also, when i work out i am less likely to bindge because i know all my work will go down the pooper if i ate bad stuff. Hope that helps! |

Sun, I am so sorry that sounds like a very terribly stressful and upsetting drama. I agree that you should get a restraining order against this women. If she really cared about your daughter she would just invite her to stay the summer and that would be that. She went about this totally wrong way. People need to learn that their is a right way and a wrong way to go around situations like these. I really hope everything works out for the best. Congrats on the weight loss Gina!!! 137! Wow I will be so happy when I see that number on the scale!! Rachel, I know the job hunting process is really stressful. I went through that last year. I interviewed at all of these places that were just not right for me...but I always though well I could deal with it right? In the end the perfect job came along for me and I am so much happier. The perfect job will come along for you too! May I ask what you do? My mom yelled at me today (well not actually yelled but you know) because she says I'm not eating enough carbs. Shes on SB too. I really only eat bread on the weekends and normally its only Whole Wheat toast with my eggs or I make my own whole wheat pancakes. Other then that no carbs. I feel fine but I have been running a lot almost every day so im not sure if maybe I should eat more. I figure if im not hungry then all is fine. Maybe I will throw a cheese stick in for a snack mid day. |

| So i weighed in this morning and i am still at 151 I guess the drinking really did mess me up this weekend. Its upsetting because i ate so well and i know i would have lost if it wasn't for the drinking. Well i guess you live you learn and at least i didn't gain! I just want to see 149 so badly I have been in the 150s for far too long! Well hopefully next week! | |||

Sounds like everyone is doing well today! I went to a Bridal shower and a house warming party and managed to not cheat at either party which was a huge feat for me!... however i did drink a lot this weekend. Friday was my boyfriends Birthday party, Saturday at the bridal shower their was a martini bar, and yesterday i have a few gin and tonics at the house warming party... i am very scared to go on the scale. Do you think the alcohol will effect my weight a lot? I think I'm just going to stay off the scale until friday and really push myself when i run this week. |

Happy Birthday Sun! Glad to hear you had a nice trip! Katie, Just get back on the wagon, Everyone Falls of now and then but the biggest thing is to just keep going! I am down 3 pounds! I am very excited!! 3 more pounds and i can finally break the 150's! Yesterday we had company day and went to coney island. I ate some bad stuff but i feel like i was good at not going crazy. I did get a terrible tummy ache from it though. I guess my body isnt used to that kind of junk food now? When i got home i went for a long run though so im fine with the bad stuff i ate yesterday. Sun, Hope you have a good trip! Velvet: I know cooking is a TON of work but it really is so worth it. The keep is finding things that are quick and easy to make. Organized food shopping really is key. Try to have an idea as to what you will make during the week when you go shopping. Eventually you will get used to it. Katie: I'm glad you enjoy the blog too! I have been reading all the entries and i am totally hooked I find her self confidence is so inspirational. It actually has inspired me to go on a mental diet. I tend to beat myself up too much. I also make jokes to people about how fat i am or how many calories are in things and how i cant eat something so fattening. Its really a terrible habbit. So i am trying to see how long i can go without making mean comments about myself... both out-loud and in my head. It really has helped a lot and i already feel much more positive. It also has made me feel much more control of my diet. |

| hi everyone, happy monday! Katie: I am the same way. I am super hard on myself and in the end thats always what makes me give up. You have to stay positive. I actually just got hooked on this blog" Half Of ME its about a girl who lost half her weight and documented her journey on her blog. She is so inspiring because their are weeks she didnt loose or gained weight and she just keeps trecking on and staying positive. i found that soo motivating. She wrote a book and i think i might get it this week! This weekend I cheated a little. Like i said i went to Atlantic city for Girls weekend with my family for my moms birthday. I had a dinner roll because i was starving and didnt eat that day...and then a glass of wine and some bananas foster (yummyy!) but today i went right back on track. I think I'm going to start running tonight too permitting i get to leave the office before 9 | |||

| kynabug: have you tried taking fiber pills every day? that had helped me a lot in the past. I hear the smooth move tea works really well...but be prepare to be home! You can find it at Whole Foods.
ohio: If you really enjoy fish, I made really good poached fish the other night. I sliced lemons, limes and shallots and put some spices and brought it to a boil in a shallow pan and then once its boiling put the fish in for about 5 min. so light and tasty! Today is day 5 and its not so good today. I watched a man on the street eat a chocolate sprinkle doughnut like i was a dirt man watching a girl in a sexy dress walk down the street haha. I am very much done with eggs. I had to throw my omelette out this morning because i really felt like if i took one more bite i would vomit. my mom said i can have some plain yogurt with splenda and cinnamon so i am going to try that. I don't understand why this is so hard for me. I'm not going to give up though i figure it has to get better. Hope everyone is having a happy friday |

I am not currently PMSing but trust me when i say i feel your pain. Last month i discovered an amazing snack that will totally fill your chocolate needs and its not terribly high in cals. Get ghirardelli chocolate chips (those taste the best for this) put a tbsp of the chocolate chips in a small bowl with just a dash of milk. melt that for 20 seconds ...mix it and then eat with strawberrys.... amazing... and only about 100 calories Hope this helps. |

| Hi everyone! Day 4! Yesterday i started feeling a bit weird. my hands got shakey, i felt light headed and my arms were tingely. i think im going through carb withdrawrals. I looked it up and i see that does happen to some people. Hopefully that will pass soon!
I am taking my mom to atlantic city this week with my aunts and cousins for her 50th birthday! She doesnt know it yet but i got her tickets to the American idol show and to the meet and greet so she can meet david cook. shes gonna flip out i'm so excited to tell her!! She is on south beach with me so we decided were not gonna tell anyone that were on it so no one makes a fuss over it and just stick to the diet. I think i might have a glass of wine though... i mean its AC!! Gina: Have fun on your work trip! tip though! Bring some stuff for you to eat. I went to LA for work last week and i told myself i would bring breakfast bars and things like that and i totally forgot. I wound up eating danish for breakfast the whole week....bad!! Katie: Are you working out? I find that when i work out a see a change in my body quicker then the scale. When is it safe to start working out? I have been running the past few months and i love it! I haven't this week though because i have felt so week. Have a great day everyone! |

| Hi Everyone. thanks for the warm welcome back =) Its so amazing you guys are all still here and kicking ass.. its very inspirational. Past few days have been good. trying to be creative with dessert at night because i miss my chocolate =(. last night i made a milk shake with ice, skim milk, some coco powder, splenda and frozen cool whip... it actually came really good!
I do have a question for you guys. How important is the v8 at breakfast? I always stayed away from it because its yucky but someone told me the other day that i really should drink it. If you guys feel it makes a difference i will suck it up and drink it. oh an Ohio, i cant believe you resisted the cheddar biscuits! that is strong strong will power! |

| hi everyone!
I am once again trying my hand at south beach. Today is my first day back and for lunch i made myself lentil curry soup with chicken. I put too many lentils...or not enough broth...so it was pretty much just lentil with no broth. It was still super yummy but I'm scared i ate too many lentils i had about 1 1/2 cups of it. did i mess my day up? I have done south beach twice and both times it never really worked the way people say it does. i had to be doing something wrong. i just want to make sure i do it right this time. Thanks! |

| I;m so sorry you feel like this. Trust me when i say i understand. I am trying to loose 30 pounds and dispite my best efforfts the weight just isnt coming off. I always tell myself i rather keep trying then give up and know i did nothing to try to change. Just keep pushing and something is bound to happen.

| I have been seriously considering going back. I did it once before but it was very hard for me ... The thing is i have been counting calories and working or religiously for like 3 weeks and all that has happened is i gained a pound... so low carb may be my only option at this point.
I was looking into atkins too i have never tried that before. |

| I live in NYC and i LOVE that they passed this law. The thing that is annoying is that its only at chain restaurants and most people in NY eat at smaller private restaurants. Their are also a lot of deli/lunch places that this law doesn't apply to that i really wish did supply this information. sometimes things seam a lot healthier then they actually are. I did go to Wendy's a few weeks ago and this info was SO helpful. i was able to keep my dinner very low cal even though i was at Wendy's! I know all that information lives on here but to have it right there when you are ordering is very helpful
You would be really surprise about how little most people know about nutrition though. My friend was never someone who has watched what she eats. Recently she decided she was going on a diet. her first day i asked her how she did, she told me "Great! I had a muffin for breakfast and a tuna sandwich from the deli on a bagel!" ...she truly though that was low cal and healthy. i think that when you see the crazy calorie count starring you in the face you will be much more likely to eat something bad. its very easy to tell yourself, na that cant be THAT bad... when it clearly states that it has 1500 calories in it theirs no lying to yourself! |

| Seriosuly, dont even get on the scale when you have your period. you will just upset yourself. I never listen to my own advice and always get upset. a few days ago i was mid period and got on the scale. i have been busting my tushy and the scale said i gained weight! i was so upset. I got back on the scale today and i am down all the gained weight and also lost one pound! | |||
