Health & Support Did you bounce back from a low point/falling off the wagon/etc? Jan 04 2009

I fell off SO badly. Gained back almost all of the weight I've lost in the past year+. I'm so disappointed in myself.

But here's to starting fresh! we can do it!

Oatmeal and peanut butter sounds so yum. What ratio do you use roughly?

I'd like to know this also.  What a great snack!

There really is no "ratio." It's your preference. Just cook your oatmeal & stir in pb before eating. If you're not sure how much you want, start with a little & work your way up, depending on how much pb flavor you want. yummmm.

I hate when people insist teenagers can't be in love because they're "too young." Maturity level is a greatest consideration than age imo. Two mature 15 year olds could be genuinely in love while two immature 25 year olds can just think they're in love.

I've read you burn 300+ more calories a day during your period. I don't doubt it either- your body's working hard. I also think that explains why you're so hungry when it's that time of the month.

protein, fats, & b-vitamins. I'd say good fats are the most important factor though.
& your hair reflects what you were doing 2 months ago, so be patient. It'll catch up if your diet allows it. Good luck!

You don't need piping tools. Just put some frosting in a ziploc bag, squeeze it all to one end, cut a hole at the tip, & "pipe" whatever you want onto your cookies.

in baltimore, check out fells point. in philly, get a cheesesteak at gino's. order a "cheezwit."

WOW.
Cheesesteaks are my speciality, so allow me to respond to this.
1) Do NOT go to Geno's unless you're just looking for a tourist attraction. If you actually want the best a good cheesesteak, you need to go to Steve's Steaks. Pat's & Geno's are just gimmicky tourist destinations. If you can't get to Steve's, any cart on the side of the street or ANYWHERE else in Philly is superior to both Pat's AND Geno's. Also, of Pat & Geno's, Pat's is the better one... which explains why geno's needs the ugly neon lights. No one would go there if they tasted the steaks.
2) I don't actually know what a "cheezwit" is... not something I've ever heard of, but when you order, first specify the cheese you want (American or "whiz" for cheesewhiz) then if you want onions or not ("wit" or "witout.") "American witout" is the way to go for me =]

I usually don't really care about the threads here & don't get offended, but I agree that this post is ridiculous, if not offensive.
The OP legitimately thinks that was a binge, which is what's getting me the most. She probably consumed 100 calories MAX.
No. binges involve entire jars of peanut butter & cake & crackers & chocolate, etc. not pickles.

Mashed can take her opinion back, but I maintain that she was right & shouldn't have been made to feel like she was being overly sensitive. Binging is a SERIOUS thing. It's a horrible horrible thing & I don't see how this is any different than talking about how to avoid eating with anorexia.

ok, excuse me but you aren't helping. you're just making me seem like an ****. i happen to help my mom out with cleaning a lot. don't just go assuming i'm some stupid teenager that isn't capable of this, or too lazy. and yes, i am young (16), but if this website is for 18 and up why does it have a whole group for teens? and i'm not immature - the girl i was talking about isn't even really my friend anymore. so butt out if you're only going to be accusatory. the whole point of this forum was to find recipes to "share with my mother" - not to be made a fool out of.

wow, spazz much? Claire was trying to help. I think her reply was very warranted & there were a lot of good dieas in there. She's just saying what we're all thinking.
Don't post if you can only handle people agreeing with you. Your response has only made you come off as immature.

Holy ****. That was very interesting yet depressing reading.

I know for a fact I would not have electro-shocked anyone, under any circumstances, least of all a puupy.

You ABSOLUTELY cannot guarantee that. The participants believed that too.

I've studied all of these experiments in school & they're so fascinating.
I also would advise everyone to check out Jane Elliott's blue eyes/brown eyes exercise. Very interesting exercise having to do with racism.

I'm going to dissent.

It's an awful, humiliating, patronizing title. They might as well call a book "You're ugly and not good enough so you'll die alone."

The excerpts I've read suggest that if a guy is doing anything less than STALKING a woman, "he's just not that into her".

In addition, every review or poster I've seen regarding this book attributes it to a line from "Sex & The City". This is true, but I've seen that episode and no one discusses the particular CHARACTER that said it. Carrie's boyfriend Jack was misanthropic, pessimistic and overly defensive. He was always picking fights with her over imagined slights to his ego. It makes sense from a scriptwritng perspective to have a moody character say something like this, but why is it embraced as some kind of great self-help wisdom all of a sudden?

I feel ugly and inadequate enough without some book telling me so.

I don't think I should bother to refute this since you haven't even read the book. But your assumptions really aren't correct.
The entire point of the book is to tell you that you ARE beautiful & amazing & a fantastic catch & that any guy who can't see that doesn't deserve your time.

I'd rather have someone not vote than have them cast an uneducated vote because they were "forced" to. Ridiculous idea in my eyes.

I love Greg Behrendt, & I've given this book to MANY friends to help them. What he says is all common sense, but sometimes it just helps to read it & have someone directly telling you what you should have thought of anyway haha.
