| Weight Loss | Nervous about my weigh in tomorrow :/ | Mar 01 2008 23:04 (UTC) |

Try getting out a pair of pants that you can't get the zipper up on... Try them on instead of the scales... The pants are what you want to get into... The measurements and the scales are sometimes just intimidating and right now you need all the encouragement you can get... I do my BEST when I take the time to write down everything that goes in my mouth... meds in the morning, water, tea, fiber... and get the calories so I know where i"m at... eat every two hours.. 100 to 300 calories... what is good for you... When you loose this weight you want to be able to keep it off... Good Habits for the rest of your/our lives... Good Luck... We're all out here trying too! ;-) |

Give yourself some time... as for the weight gain?? maybe muscle gain? takes muscle to burn fat... instead of jumping on the scales...try on that pair of pants that were a wee bit tight and see how they are fitting...that is what everyone else is seeing... bet you are doing good in that department... with all that exercising going on... try weighing once a week, and stick to the program... YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS... only good thoughts for you today.... Keep up the good work...cp

Almost nine here.. and I am signing off... Stayed within calorie goal and water intake was up there... Did most of the counter push-ups and stepper before and after... still finding what works.. I didn't get my last meal in til about 6:00 but I really felt I better eat so I didn't snack later on... Crossing my fingers no more food in the evenings... Hope everyone else's day went okay.. Tomorrow is weigh in for me... I go to the dr. office and weigh on his scales once a week to make it official and record it in a little card I made. There were a few moments in the afternoon when I thought about eating but I did think about having to admit I couldn't make it through and "IT DID HELP!" Just have to keep tryin.. ;-) |

| Weight Loss | The Lemonade Diet / Master Cleanse / Detox | Aug 15 2007 03:29 (UTC) |

There are allot of ways to detox your system.... Just eating properly and portion control will do that... stay away from the processed foods... Fresh, raw fruits and veggies and the proper amounts of omega or good fats... Nutrition has allot of ins and outs to it... I drink lemon water every day... good for getting rid of excess water in the system and digestion... Also take the chayenne pepper capsules daily.. Experiment, but don't let yourself get to weak that it affects your safety... Keep track of how you feel and keep up the researching to the everyday diet for a happy, healthy lifestyle... Cleansings have been around for hundreds of years... It's just that most of us get the queezy feeling when you talk about low calorie/improper calorie intake as leading to the yoyo syndrome... Stay healthy.. good luck! Will check back to see how your doing! ;-) |

| I'm with kelly.. That is just how I feel, too! I know I have to count calories and journal everything to keep track... I use to always pick up the SALE stuff... treats etc.. It was cheap!..but it really cost me so much more in the mirror.. I am getting better, but the journaling and coming to this sight does help... Got a loose leaf notebook and just start keeping track.. Set goals.... In the motivational section there is a gal who started a accountability thread where you journal your goals for the day and then go back at 9:00pm and let us know how your did.. You are being held accountable for your choices and you have people that care! Your not the only one on this journey..Good look on that mindset change.. I'm still working on mine, too! ;-) | |||

| I like the day off plan too... Usually do mine on weigh in day... I am trying to limit my meat intake..so that is a good day for the things I really like but not go way out there... Just buy one portion of what you want and don't bring anything back to the house... Just got to keep trying... ;-) | |||

I like this.. This is nice of you to take the interest and make us hold ourselves accountable... Good Idea... I write them in my log but don't always be true to me... check in at 9:00pm is good idea ... Goals: calorie/portion control, 8 glasses of lemon water, counter push-ups or stepper (30) before and after food intake.. Really appreciate the motivation! ;-) |

| I do old oats to... this is a quick fast meal... 1/4 c. oats to 1 cup of water... in the micro for three to five minutes... I usually use a banana...cut it in half and cubed... the first half with the cooking and put the other half in after it is cooked... just like the different textures... and know sweeteners.. It tastes pretty good and under 300 calorie meal. I also use one apple halved, cube and cook it and then add the last half/cubed with the little bit of cinnamon, to the taste.. again no sweeteners.. It does taste pretty good...and fills you up.. ;-) | |||

| First of all... Happy Birthday!... Second of all...Don't beat yourself over the head for celebrating... You enjoyed... Now! it is time to get going.. I use a loose leaf note book and journal and write down everything to get started ... fits in the purse and I loose track.. I also have to count calories and there are allot of good pocket books that you can buy... or course if you have net access ..come home and check out the daily intake... this site is so good about seeing where you on when you first sign in... Think raw foods first and try to stay away from the white flour things... Now days most restaurants have fruit and veggies dishes and aren't that bad.. but you can always split a plate with a buddy if they are eating healthy, too! Just ask for an extra plate and you both have a problem solved, not wasting money or food!! We all just got to keep trying!! Good Luck ;-) | |||

| You know the sad thing is... I like food... I really like what I cook... sounds like you do too! You shouldn't beat yourself over the head because of that... fact of life is we have to learn to work around it... portion control... Next time your dad needs something for work... Maybe you should ask him to pick it up at the bakery .. Explain to him that you are really trying to work on portion control and right now it is bad for you to have the temptation in front of you.. I use to buy the large economy size to save money... Now, I buy just what I need and that way I don't have to worry about eating more then I should... I fear all this healthy, happy lifestyle is a matter of calories, portion control.. and learning how the implement them into our lives... Take people out to dinner... buy at the bakery/don't bring it home... surround yourself with the things you know are good for you! I still working on all of these but little by little I am learning a few tricks of trade... Skinny girl crying to get out! Good luck... Hope we all reach our goals... ;-) | |||
