Weight Loss Binging before bedtime!!! Help! Aug 22 2007

Well typically the reason you eat before bed is because when you eat (more specifically a larger amount) your body is processing the food and it makes you tired from using more energy. . .I've only notcied this a few times in my life, once when I had amazing flank steak.

I'm a night eater too, and i have been munching on nut mix that have some M&M's in them, but unless you can keep it to a small amount this is bad because its high in cals (and good fats).

Maybe try eating your supper a lot later, or like layla said break your dinner in half.

Good luck on the munching, I'll need to duct tape my mouth shut to stop myself.

Weight Loss Women: Maintaining breast size while losing weight? Aug 22 2007

I've heard that drinking lots of milk can help to increase the size of your breasts, as well as red meat.

However I think I heard this years ago, you may want to do a little research yourself, and excess of red meat can also be bad in a few ways. . .although I love it to death. D:
Weight Loss Can I still eat Mcdonalds and stuff like that if I count calories? Aug 22 2007

I ate McDonalds today. . . I figured I had a good start to my diet so far so I deserved a bit of a reward.  I ordered a 1/4 pounder with cheese meal with a diet coke.   Big mistake.

Well, it made me sick just to realize how much food I could eat 3-4 weeks ago.  I could barely finish it all today yet normally I could eat the fries and hamburger, then be hungry for another one. . .  Not only that but now I only have 500 calories for supper so I can't really have anything yummy.

What I would suggest (and what I'm going to do) is every few weeks or so if I get a craving for fast food Im just going to get the burger  or if i get a poutine at harveys or something I'll get a small, then get like a garden salad or veggies to chomp on. . . it just kicks you in the butt if you eat too much of it for calories.

Best of luck with you!

Yes I know my doctor told me it may cause bloodclots, and that migraines and leg pains could have to do with that.  I don't take baths I showe so I'm okay there. :)  And the adhesive stickyness is okay because i have wipes to get rid of it.  My doctor didn't want to perscribe it to me but I told him I am very forgetful and I would proabbly forget to take the pill (which would make using it as a contraceptive a very bad idea).

So I really can't take the pill because I would forget, I know this because when I had cancer I would forget to take the antibiotics and steroids I was supposed to (unless my mother reminded me haha)

christinalauren - Thanks for your input. :)  Hopefully it doesn't affect me too much, but it is higher levels of horomones than the pill so probably. :(
Foods 90-100 cal packs?College food? Aug 14 2007

I'm also in the same boat for college.  :)  I plan on getting some more rice cakes and special K as well, although rolled outs sounds like a good idea.

It sucks living on rez because (I don't know about for you) we have no oven.

Yeah I would say when you get there get lots of fruits and veggies, because you can eat a lot of them and it doesn't have to many calories.  :)

Good luck with your college-ness!  I hope mine works out good too!

Hey :)  This is the group for me!  I just started counting calories last week, although at the moment I don't get to exercise much.

Height - 5'6"

Starting weight - 157

Goal weight - 125

I realize that I will probably never get to 125, but I want to feel lean as if I were in the 125 range.  Basically I'm hoping that when I get to the gym I can start to turn some fat into muscle and lose some weight.  I had a big jump down to 149-150 after just starting to eat less salt and more water, so now things are kind of dying down and normalizing.

Tummy and thunder thighs, lol.

Although I don't care as much about the tummy, just as long as I can get the love handles to go I'll be super happy. :D
Weight Loss --> Whats the deal w/ ur PERIOD & WEIGHT GAIN?? Aug 11 2007

I gain up to 5 pounds of water ususally just under a week before, then as my period goes by I lose it again.

Since it's not actual fat it's water it goes away quickly.  Remember you aren't actually gaining pounds. :)

Hehe, and normally I eat tons of salt (I could live off dill pickles) but I don't think I'm even having 10% of what I used to now, thanks. :)

Alright thanks, well I'll just stick with eating this much then.

My goals for today are:

1) Stay within my 1400 calorie limit.
2) Go swimming for 30-60 minutes.
3) Drink 8 glasses of water.

I just started my diet so. . .I'm still getting used to limiting the calories.

I really think it is important for you to vary the amount of aspartame you are consuming.  It can do a lot of bad things.  I used to drink diet pepsi constantly and stopped when I started getting strange chest pains.  Then a year later i got the chest pains again, they took an x-ray and I had a mass in my chest.  I had gotten cancer.

Although I have to add I am not 100% that it was from the aspartame, there really isn't any proof in my case, but they have done studies on it where it had lead to the type of cancer I had.

At least try to limit the aspartame, it's high amounts of it that have bad effects, maybe allow yourself one or two cans of diet pop a day, or trade one in for a floavoured water, typically they contain sucralose, which is made from sugar, and I have heard is a fair bit better.

It's hard to quit it, but you should just at least limit how much of it you are consuming.

Good luck. :)

Weight Loss I'm completely new to dieting and I need some help/advice/answers. Aug 09 2007

Thanks very much. :)

Yeah, at the moment it is somewhat unavoidable for me.  It's hard to diet as well since my parents are more in charge of what food gets in the house, although I've been making suggestions.  I'll be able to have more of an impact on the food I eat once I go to college in September.

Yeah, hopefully someone will know something about it. :)  Thank you though.  Heh, I should be eating a lot of natural foods.
