Hey. :) I'm Emily, 17 years old (can't wait to be 18 in July..), am 5'5.5'' and weight about 130 lbs. I was born and raised in Minnesota. I'm settling for a cheaper state college because I will be studying pre-physical therapy.. meaning that grad school is going to be competitive and expensive, and then I plan on going to a more prestigious college. I was "temporarily anorexic", in some sense. It wasn't drastic, and only lasted for about a month or two. Since 2007 some time, I forget when exactly, I have lost almost 40 lbs. Since for a bit of that time I lost weight too quickly, I have extra fat that simply needs to be toned up and turned into muscle -- basically just my torso and thighs. So that is what I am hoping to change. I speak a little bit of French. I took it for three years, but am not this year because I didn't have room for it in my schedule. My classes pertain to what I need to my major, rather than.. language. Although I may start taking Spanish later, as it would be beneficial for physical therapy. I love the Greek and Italian culture and hope to study abroad in college and, if I don't study in either of those two countries, I am at least going to travel there. I want to learn how to speak those languages, as well. WIll it happen? Probably not. But a girl can certainly dream! Uhm.. I have very low self-esteem and -confidence, and am hoping that improves once I tone up my body some more. But.. yeah! |

I'm 17 years old, 5'5.5'' and weight about 130 lbs. right now. I'm not too concerned about my weight right now, because I know it is healthy. If I can weight less, that would be great! Probably no less than 125, I think. What I am more concerned about is actually toning up the fat that is just.. there. I was "temproarily anorexic", sort of, for about a month or two, and bridging on it for about one, so I lost weight quickly but because of that it took muscle, too, so I have some extra fat that needs to be turned into muscle. Because I work almost every day (two jobs, so to speak.. one is an internship) and then I am taking classes that I shouldn't have signed up for, I'm stressed and haven't had time to exercise aside from walking for about a month or two now. So basically, I need someone to help motivate me to start weight training again so I can tone up. |

1. Stop stressing out about schoolwork when I already have a 4.0 -- I don't need more than one -- and have been accepted to college. 2. Clean my room and keep it that way. 3. Actually call people back when they call me. 4. If possible, find a boyfriend..? 5. Become happy with my body by: not worrying about weight and simply toning that remaining jiggle up to muscle. 6. Be happy and confident with myself and my life. |

My New Year Resolution is basically to become happy with who I am. It consists of many things: my appearance, my personality, etc. I want to especially be able to look in the mirror and just.. not automatically see something I want to change. Just be happy and comfortable with who I am, period. |

Start of Challenge: ~140 lbs. Current Weight: 129.5 I made my goal. Unfortunately I don't think it looks like I lost it.. hm. So now my new goal, for different challenges (basically the Thanksgiving one) is 120 lbs. I'm going to still eat the same but try and find time for exercising. I really haven't lately, due to school work and then working every day after school. So primarily I'll fit in walking the dog when I can, and then try some ab work, 'cause that's where I would like to see the most difference. Hopefully 10 more lbs. will do what I want it to! I thought I would be done losing weight at 140, then 135, then 130. Pfft.. going for 120 now. Jeez! |

Oh my god. *Gag* Those things were disgusting. I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the correct thing. Where the shake comes as powder in a little plastic jar thing, and you mix it with milk or something? Yeah.. that was gross. My mom and I tried that back in the spring. Lost a few pounds with it, but I had to plug my nose and gulp it down really quickly. I literally gagged when drinking those. The fact that they were disgusting and a crapload of money was, to me, not worth it at all. |

This sounds awesome! 10 more lbs. by Thanksgiving? Perfect. Although I'll probably try for more, considering I'll likely gain some weight back on that day. Lol. Age: 17 Sex: Female Height: 5'6'' - ish. Current Weight: 134 lbs. Goal Weight: At least 124 lbs. I might actually be looking at 120 lbs.. I don't know. Technically, I'm sure I am a "healthy" weight, but that pudge is being stubborn. I don't know what'll happen in 10 lbs., so we'll see. |

I weighed in at 134 lbs. this morning! Two lbs. and I will have lost the 10 already. Yes! Granted today was a major off day. It was high school homecoming, what can I say. Healthy breakfast, but then we went out for lunch and snacked on stuff after school. Eek.. tomorrow I'm going to really have to watch what I eat! Since our house is being remodled, and it's getting colder, I still don't know how to fit in good exercise. I'm thinking about possibly bringing a lab top up to my room and doing DVDs up there.. hopefully that'll work for now. 'Cause I think, even though I am losing weight, it doesn't look it 'cause I haven't been toning up as much. |

I weighed in yesterday at 136 lbs. So I've lost 6 lbs. since early Sept., I think. Yay, me! :) I've been "semi-fasting" for a few days, so that's probably why I've lost that much weight but.. oh well. I like the number, and I think I might be noticing a diff. Only 6 lbs. 'till my "goal". Though I don't think that in 6 lbs. the fat I want to be gone will be gone, so I might have to change my goal to 125.. hm. |

I missed the "weigh in day", I know. I've been sick for a week now, though, so I haven't been sticking with my diet, nor have I gotten exercise in. Granted, since school started I haven't exercised much at all, what with homework and work outside of school. But I did today just to see what I will have to do once I'm over this and.. guess what? 137 lbs.! I dropped 2 lbs. while I was sick. Holy crap! With just lazing around and eating toast, soup, and a crap loud of OJ and other cals/carbs. Wow.. I'm happy. That means that since the beginning of September, I have lost 5 lbs. Yay! :) So technically I'm half way to the 10 lbs. by Halloween. Maybe it can be like.. 13 lbs. If I'm 130 at Halloween, that would be awesome. |

I haven't gone to see a doctor, no. I feel like I am getting better -- basically now it's just my throat/voice and a headache if I stand up too quickly. But if I'm not feeling any better than I am now by Monday, I'll probably go see one. Thanks for the "get well soon". :) |

I first gained a lot going into fourth or fifth grade (I forget which was more prominent). That was mainly because I had quit two out of the three sports I played, so I didn't have as much exercise. And I think I started eating more fast food, french fries, and other junk. So it started piling on. Then it kept gaining, very slowly, because I binged a lot. I had too much at meals and then had bigger snacks later on. Now I'm the lowest I have been in a long time. First off because I have crash dieted (yeah, I know it isn't healthy). But I'm also having smaller portions at meals, if I have a snack I make sure it is either fruit or a very small portion of something a bit sweeter and slightly unhealthier (i.e. granola bar). I'm not drinking pop any more and only have espresso drinks on rare occasions. (I used to have quite a few per week.. my family is HUGE coffee/espresso drinkers!) Since I'm kind of crash dieting, I'm not eating the way I plan to once I hit my goal. "Normally" will be then, but it won't be what I used to eat. I will cont. watching what I eat, but I won't be extremely upset with myself if I eat a bit overboard. |

I really don't see any change at all. The scale says that I have lost about 20 lbs, but I don't see it. Okay, I do a little bit.. but not much. I can tell my waist is smaller, and my arms and legs are a bit more toned, but my love-handles are still enormous, as well as my belly. And that is what makes me look so huge! My cltohing sizes are shrinking -- went from 12/13/14/15 (depending on what section I shopped in) to an apparently 9/10/11 or whatever. Which is a difference, I know, but not much. I part of what makes it so frustrating for me is that the only people who have commented are my parents and my grandma. And personally, I don't fell as if my family members count for this. I start school on Tuesday and really hope some of my peers will notice even a little difference. Considering I'm really only 10 lbs. from my goal sucks, too. I don't fell as if anything will change in 10 lbs. I'll still be the same old chubby me. :( |

Moo: I was just thinking that! Personally, if I could end up weighing 130 lbs., I would be extremely happy. That is my ultimate goal, but if I end up being fit, toned, etc. and weighing around 135, I'll be perfectly fine with that as well. Any lower than 130 is kind of iffy for me. If I end up weighing 130 lbs. and am not happy with it, then I'll go lower. But I almost think that lower than that may not be as healthy as it could otherwise be. Oh well. I'll just see when I get to that point. (Which will hopefully be relatively soon!) |

I finally weighed myself since a week to two weeks ago. Unfortunately I gained. Though I really hope it is from muscle, because my arms and legs are def. more toned than two weeks ago. So, right now I'm 142 lbs. I want to get between 130 and 135 by Halloween. My exercise routines will probably be much of what it is now. I do an hours worth of biking or tae bo each day, and sometimes manage to get both in depending on how busy I am. Some days I know this won't be possible (like next Sunday.. I work at both of my jobs, so will be working for about 12 hrs. straight). But, yeah. As for eating.. I aim for around 1200 calories. ETA: Forgot to say, I'm about 5'5.5''. |

| I know what you mean. I was weighing myself at least once or twice per day, so I figured I should stop. Then TTOM visited so I was bloated and didn't want to know what that added up to. But I just went school shopping today and was actually pretty excited. :) Smallest clothes I've been in for a long time. So 10 lbs -- or even merely toning up -- will be that much better! | |||
