I used to be on here last year, lost about 15lbs, then I moved in with my boyfriend, quit smoking, and just went to the doctors and found out I gained 17lbs in a year !! I have to get on the scale weekly {I'm deathly afraid of it. } So, I am up to 178lbs right now and I have A LOT to loose. Ugggh. Motivation anyone ?!

Hi Chrystal,

I am at a plateau right now so I know your frustration. All I can say is some on here daily and log your calories / exercise. That seems to be a problem for me at the moment because I am finally dating someone and have pretty much moved in with him but we don't have internet yet, and now i'm getting scared to even step on the scale, it's been almost 2 months !! I have been trying to eat more smaller meals throughout the day, have begun adding yoga to my exercise routine and still try and walk 3-4 times a week, even though I am only at 1 mile each time. I've gotta get back to logging calories.

Just stick with this place and I think eventually you'll get to your goal. It may be hard at times, but try even just a little bit to enjoy the journey. Cool

Ok so I have to ask what this this condition is called and when approx it will go away. I haven't jogged / ran in i'd say 8 years, maybe a little longer...

Today I took a walk, approx. 2 miles. In the middle I wanted to try jogging, so eventually I can alternate for a HIIT workout.... well, after maybe 200 feet I had major cramps, a sharp pain in my side, and was out of breathe.... I had to just walk the rest of the way.

I have been regularly using the Gazelle machine all winter for about 30 mins 4 days a week and this made me feel REALLY out of shape !! Any ideas ??

Also, what type of sneakers do you use for your jogging  ??

i started drinking some sparkling Pellegrino water recently, i love it.... I do have the occasional cherry coke zero, any thoughts on that ?!

yes that explanation helped a lot, thanks. so i need to eat a little bit MORE than I am to lose weight..... I kind of thought maybe that's what it was... I will try it out at 1400 calories a day and see what happens.

Yes, it is to lose weight... more at the 1200 calories range.... so I shoud be eating MORE to lose ? Also, I forgot about the calories being burned just being alive....

yes, BUT my daily calories is around 12-1400.... so I would assume on my 1200 cal days to not do this, correct ?

Thanks sixtyfive & kjuliane !! Yes, I will wait a few more days before I weigh in, I was up till 11pm painting again last night, we finished the kitchen so basically the painting is done for at least a month, then i'm gonna go get the colors I want to paint my exercise room.

I got a large sub from a local pizza store.... I had half.... then there was half left, which I cut in half to make 2 other meals.....

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I know I need to be less obsessed with the numbers on the scale. As far as what I ate, it wasn't that nutritious. Because the kitchen was all torn apart I ended up eating my normal break fast of 1% milk & raisan bran, but for lunch I ordered an italian sub, had half for lunch and then half for supper. . . . . that was Saturday.... then I had same breakfast Sunday, and another half of the italian for lunch... then for dinner I ate 2 packets of oatmeal and had a cherry coke zero..... oh, and I admit, I ate like 6 chips ahoy cookies last night.....

I went grocery shopping today and got a lot of fruits & veggies.... chicken, splurged on some sushi, we have 1 more room to do ( the kitchen ) next weekend and so I wanna eat more healthy next weekend !!

Hi, I just finished writing a journal about smoking. I suggest if anyone can get Chantix, to do it. I know so many people who have quit with it. Like I said in my journal, I'm into my 3rd week... the last pack I had last a week for me...

thanks vendetta !! yes, I have def hit a plateau, I weighed myself for the first time in exactly 3 weeks and didn't lose ANYTHING... didn't gain anything either so that part is good news.
