| I am starting it now myself. I found a "couch to 5" podcast that plays music, and gives instruction as you go. I'm trying it for the first time today and I will report back maybe Friday and let you know how it worked out. If you have an ipod it might be worth it, don't know. Whatever motivates you right? Good luck to all! | |||

| hi, i started out with a specialized hybrid, i believe it was an expedition. Loved it for tooling around town and had it for about three years, but I am much more into moutain biking, and I just didn't know I was going to be. Its very exciting, and for me, i got bored just riding the roads. Its agreat workout that literally flies by before you even realize how tired you are. But i was tearing up my hybrid on the more difficult trails. So i got a specialized Rock Hopper, women's version. Its fantastic, I did replace the neck so it would be a little longer, and adjust the seat to sit back further. Your bike shop can help you make these inexpensive adjustments that will lean you over or sit you up depending on your comfort level. I don't know about your local bike shop, but mine is great. They really want to help you get in the bike that is best for you. They even helped me sell my old bike. If they have any consignment bikes ask if you could test drive some different styles and sizes. Although they generally can tell you what size you need pretty accurately. Good luck... | |||

| I use to attend the Firm classes here in Columbia, SC and LOVED them. Later I bought the tapes because I couldn't make it to the classes....They are much easier. But you can make them harder by uping weight, jogging in place during pauses, etc. Try your local library, you might be able to test drive them. | |||

| Depends on what you are using it for. I love my Polar F6. I only want to track my heart rate, calories burned. They can get much more complicated and much more simple. Check out this comparison. http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com/all-monit ors.html It is the best $100.00 I ever spent. I finally started to workout more efficiently and lose weight. Until I saw the numbers I didn't work myself hard enough....I am a numbers person though. Different stuff works for different people. *one important thing to look at on them is a backlight...seems silly to not have one but some models don't, and I like to run at night ! |

| So far we love it, i have noticed a difference from a month of using it. We just can't settle into a workout schedule that gets all of our muscle groups worked more than once or maybe twice a week. Any suggestions on how often to work each muscle group? | |||

| Such a hard conversation to have, but I agree that if he did it lovingly it was probably just as hard for him. I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to do things for yourself as well as to ensure you are going to be there for your spouse for as long as possible.
I the past I roller coastered a bit in weight, and realized in the process that my marriage and how I acted around my spouse was effected. In the past year that I have been able to stabilize my weight, I feel like I am a more positive member of our relationship, because I'm not down on myself all the time.....I can focus on being happy and living. You are worth doing what it takes to be happy with yourself, and you will spill that happyness into every area of your life. Good luck and since I am new to the site...hope to see you around. |
