haha hmarcos, I can totally relate to that actually.
I went over to a friends house, and her mom asked if it was ok if she made pancakes with butter, milk and eggs, right after I explicitly told her that vegans do not eat butter, milk, or eggs. I think she was just nagging me about becoming a "vegan". So I politely replied, "Oh yes I can eat pancakes as long as they do not contain butter, or milk, or eggs." and then she backed off my case. :)

And yet, this is just what i'm talking about when people feel the need to reply to these kind of posts saying YOU ARE NOT VEGAN. No duh! I eat fish! which is meat! therefore, i am not vegan! Yet it highly simplifies things to call myself a "vegan"! But also, fish is not the only food i eat. I must say, I only eat seafood about once every few weeks! I never feel like seafood is an "indulgence", or my only "meat" allowance. I only eat it because my parents would never allow me to be only a strict vegan. they are way too concerned and freaked out by my diet already!




Thanks for all your thoughts on the matter, though!

i agree with kate09, you are a pollo-pesce-tarian. but like everyone else says, you can simply say you are vegetarian if you'd like to simplify how you'd like people to cater to your diet needs.

i definitely relate to all of these posts!!!
My triggers are:
-when i'm home alone on a weekend night and have nothing to do
-when i'm in a "f**k it" mood....aka "nothing is working out for me right now and i just dont give a damn anymore" mood
-being home alone in general!!! the freedom just makes me want to cook up huge batches of frosting and munch away without my mum hovering over me saying "UHHH put that junk DOWN and go do some WORK!!"
haha....so yes!

BREAKY: muesili with soy milk, green tea

SNACK: apple or pear

LUNCH: leftovers or a veggie burger sandwich on a burger bun with mustard and ketchup and maybe some soy cheese

breakfast: muesili with soy milk
snack: pear
lunch: dried blueberry/cherry/cranberry/almond mix, lara bar, applesauce
snack: grapes, crystallized ginger chocolate YUMM
dinner: fish yurmm
dessert: REALLLY SUPPER YUMM blueberry soy yogurt put in the freezer (fro-yo!!) with some frozen strawberries/blueberries/raspberries put in the microwave so that they are warm and juicy, then poured on top of the yogurt. it's delish! like cheap/healthy/more delish pinkberry or fro yo

DEar body,
I'm sorry for being so judgemental. i keep judging you for my brain's choices, it's not your fault! thanks hands and arms for writing all my tedious schoolwork, thanks tummy for being a constant reminder that i can always lose that pooch, thanks hips for being narrow, thanks thighs for being "Muscular" and encouraging for losing weight! thanks calves for staying slim, and thanks booty for slimming down, keep it up!! you're almost there!
i guess i need to apologize for making you eat disgusting crap like ice cream and sugary chocolate confections that would clog you up. those days are over!! i've been treating you much better recently, so thanks for the good feelings in return! let's keep it up!

i really like eating frozen nuts......it might sound weird but i keep a bag of pecans in the freezer, pull out a handful of nuts and just walk away from the kitchen, and i feel better. or i like to make green tea. plus its hot and keeps me warm!!

ok, so tomorrow i have physical therapy, so i'll eat:
b: some muesili with a banana and soy milk, big green tea to go
s: apple, 2 pieces of pita bread with some hummus
l: some chopped veggies, whatever's around the house, with some pecans/nuts/walnuts mixed in
after-exercise and shower snack: 1 cooked sweet potato/yam recipe with oj, nutmeg, cinnamon, margarine,etc.
Dinner: dinner with my class, so we'll see how that goes!! haha

bite of muesili w/banana, then i felt sick, so i had 1 piece ezekiel toast with almond butter, some orange juice and hot tea

snack:
lara bar..yum!

lunch:
sweet potato/yams and ahi tuna, carrots

snack:
some nuts, some halvah

dinner:
1 rainbow roll, some tuna sashimi

dessert:
1/2 bowl of raspberries with some sugar

skinnyogi be careful with the soy cheese from trader joe's!!! i use to buy it until upon closer inspection did i realize that it contained casein, which is a big no-no for vegans!! oh wait, never mind i don' know if you're a vegan or not. haha just kidding, but if you are a vegan, just remember to steer clear of some brands proclaiming to be "soy," because they are usually just cheese "alternatives," and they still have casein in them, which makes them not completely vegan.

that 7-day-detox website looks cool, i think i'll start that tomorrow!! i'll let you know how it goes. i'm already a vegan, so it shouldn't be too drastic a change, i just won't eat bread, chocolates/sweets (aaahh toughie!!) or tea, just green/herbal teas. I'll report back in a week i guess!!
