I had a couple of really good eating days and then my mom came to visit and we ate like mad. I'm not that stressed out about it, though.

Still don't have a scale so I can't weigh in!

There is also gluten free/wheat free pasta to turn to. Tinkyada, Bionaturae, even Trader Joe's has it's own brand with tons of different shapes! I definitely love spaghetti squash as well!

I'll join! I've been absent from the site for a while but recently my pants have been getting tight (eek!). My birthday is a little over a week before Christmas and I'd like to bet at my best!

Name: Meghan

Current weight: 120-125 lbs

Scale stepper or judge by clothing: clothing- I currently live sans scale! I think I might need one though.

Amount of weight you wish to lose:  I'd like to be between 110 and 115 (what I was before my boyfriend and I moved in together)

How often do you want to weigh in? Once I get a scale I suppose I'll decide this.. I might also take measurements?

Weekly goals: I'm trying to get back in to a good yoga routine (think 3 to 5 days a week), biking 20 miles a week (I commute by bike) and 2 to 3 days of additional weight training. I'm crazy busy as I'm in my final year of college but I really need to take care of myself in addition to school.

I also want to eat less refined sugar (which I've been okay with for the past few days) and more fruits/veggies rather than convenience foods.

Hey! I was put on Yasmin SEVERAL years ago for an irregular period and I also had the nausea the first week. I believe that it went away after about a week and a half/two weeks. This was about 7 years ago (wow that makes me feel old!). I've been on it ever since and I sincerely love it.

there is rice dream milk too.. never tasted it before though.

In my experience rice milk is the closest thing to the texture and taste of cows milk. I'm vegan and I usually go back and forth between almond milk and rice milk.

Haha that's amazing. I work at an Apple store and I had a guy come in and say "Can you service me here?" I so badly wanted to tell him that he could at least buy me dinner first but that was dancing on the edge of FIRED so I just stared at him until he repeated "Can you service me?" After a deep breath I was able to steer him towards our service desk but the receptionist opposite me was cracking up.

I literally just got my period back- this morning- after going off the pill 5 months ago. It's still very light and barely there but I saw it! I encourage you to have an ongoing conversation with your dr. I've been keeping in touch with my doctor and it honestly helped me to not get stressed out about the situation (which would only have made it worse!).

My fiance loves rambutan- you can find them in Asian markets. He says it tastes like lychees. It's a 'white, sweet succulent meat with the consistency of a gummy but almost with a pear and a honeydew sensibility but it's totally not like any of those things. It's a squishy fruit'. < Straight from the horse's mouth.

I often take larabars with me when I may not be able to find food. I eat fairly often and have a restricted diet or else I get cranky. Otherwise I don't really go for them.

The hormones in the pill cause people to get intense cravings and if you give into them you end up gaining weight. I heard that its normal to gain 5-10 lbs from the water retention it can cause.

I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. I don't know anyone who has gotten 'intense cravings' from the pill. Also, both for myself and others I've spoken to, it helped with the water retention especially at that time of the month.

Maybe I've just never been so devoid of friends that I ever humored the idea of trying to make friends with half naked old men at the gym.  Maybe if I were in that situation, I'd be the same way.  Hard to say.

There is only one guy at the gym that I''m happy to see...that I actually don't mind talking to...and that's this guy that runs laps.  I think he's gay becuase he looks gay.  The only reason I like to talk to him is we both run and he's been running alot longer than me.  Last time I saw him he sort of brushed me off.  Maybe not.  Or maybe he was in a hurry.  Or maybe he realized I was hetero and his whole "friendliness" up until that point was to try to hook up.  I don't know.  I've never seen myself as a person who gays would find attractive, but maybe he's desperate.  He looks kind've desperate.

and just what does a gay guy look like?

He looks gay AND desperate. So he has his hand on another guy's crotch while his one eye is winking and the other is welling up with tears. Lip quivering.. big  neon I'M GAY sign blinking above his head..

Hey All!

I'm mostly checking in with you guys to keep myself on track! Lately I've been having HUGE brunch-ish meals in the morning and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Since I usually have issues with going to bed super full (and then getting tummyaches because I don't digest properly) I figure this is an okay solution right? (it's usually healthy food but this morning not so much.. whoops!) For one, I think it's helping me not to over-do it at night. However I do feel kind of over-full at times. Oh well, maybe my body will adjust?

Amyjo we have ALL done that. At least now you'll have a huge spike of energy from all that sugar lol!

Rice is a fantastic, versatile staple.  The starchy white long-grain stuff is a bit tasteless but even that is a good source of energy.  Basmati is a lovely, delicate flavour and the grains are less starchy.  Brown rice takes a little longer to cook but you get more fibre and vitamins.  Short grain Arborio rice makes terrific risottos. And then there are some delicious 'wild' rice you can get such as Carmargue red rice which have different properties all together.

Watch the portions and rice is excellent.

MMmm Basmati rice smells amazing when cooking too! I have a rice cooker and I love it- you can't mess up the rice and it just seems like a safer way to cook!
