Hi guys, this is week two and I actually gained 1 pd. I'm very depressed right now...Under a lot of stress trying to set a date for my wedding. I'm stressed out about finances. My fiancee and I had our first arguement regarding when to set the date. I know a big part of me not having the motivation is centered around me being unhappy with my weight. I'll still work hard this week to get the scale down. Height 5'4" Starting weight 173.4 Current weight 174.4 Goal weight 150 |

Hi guys..morning 42 and all, I hope that when you receive this please know you are not alone. I use to go work out every other day by myself because I too had no friends or family living close to me..but had some motivation. However, in addition to working full time, I am a student trying to get my MBA. It's difficult because I have to dedicate 4 evenings a week to school and don't feel I have time for anything else, so my gym workouts got cut. My advice is if you can't motivate yourself to work out just yet, at least try to stay within your daily calorie intake. As far as motivation, I can certainly be your buddy too..I'm only a hop skip and e-mail jump away...even being all the way in Chicago! Why don't we try weighing in our stats once a week, right here on this thread? That might at least start the motivation. Then maybe we could gradually motivate ourselves to do more. Let me know...we're all in this together!!   ; |

Brittney, you'd be amazed to find out you have a lot more in common with your fellow CC members than you think. We have joined this site to seek support and committment to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. I have 40 pounds to lose, according to what my ideal weight is, and I'm 37. So look at that, you're way ahead of the game. I only wish I would have taken control at such an early age. Like you, I was overweight all my teenage years. I was happy, so losing weight and living that healthy lifestyle was not as important. You're way ahead of the game. Stick with it. Make it a pemanant way of life. Don't cut your calories too much. Your body could go into that "starvation" mode and you won't burn the fat that you want to burn because your body will store it. Eat the recommended amount and exercise as often as you like. You're doing fine! |

I want to join this forum. I eat chocolate every single day and want to cut down...Notice I didn't say cut it out :) Well for now I want to cut down and evenutally make my way toward eliminating it all together, but that's a long term goal. My twist to this is for the remainder of this month, November, to eat only a 200 calorie max a day for chocolate! |

Hi Jessica, I can agree with kcp118 that this site does work. Since Aug. 12, when I started, I have lost 6.5 pds. Granted this weekend I fell off the wagon, being out and not being able to say no to the unhealthy stuff, but I'm back on today. What I'll do starting tonight is work out harder this week to make up for my lousy weekend. If you can at least do that and maintain, you're on the right track. I would suggest logging onto this site daily, writing in your journal and participating in the forums. It's a great way to committing yourself for the long hall. You can do it!!! I promise you'll feel so much better. |

ladydeenj, WELCOME to the CC family!! I know what you mean about the working out thing. Although the scale hasn't moved much from when I started back in August (6 pds) I can't stay away from the gym either. I easily am there 6 days and most days for an hour and 1/2. I guess it's the energy levels huh? See you in the forums. |

Don't give up! I'm experiencing the exact same thing as you guys. I joined CC in August and until this morning, have only lost 6 lbs. total. I have been working out 4-5 days a week, mainly cardio because I usually go over my recommended calorie intake of 1350. I'm usually closer to the 1500 but I figure I make up for it by working out harder. So in my eyes I should be losing at a faster rate. I was getting really discouraged too but with the support system here, it's hard not to keep on track. Are you getting enough water in. 8-10 glasses a day? That plays a major role with us women in water retention. |

Hi jdbeckers and everyone else. My stats are very similar to yours!! Please add me to your buddy list. I'm 5'4 174. I work out 5 days a week; doing spinning or kick boxing classes. I also try to do some light weights when I can. I was interesed in seeing a nutritionist but maybe you can share your info. with us since your already doing it. It's actually free, covered under my insurance. Do you think it's worth it or is CC similar? Thanks for the info so far. I'm not losing fast enough but it just might be a matter of bringing down my calorie intake. I'm suppose to be at 1350 but I come in most days at 1500.

Wow, we have really similar stats. I'm 5'4 and at 174-176. I've been feeling frustrated lately because like this week I worked out 4 days, doing an hour of cardio everyday. I usually do the spinning or kwando classes. My recommended calorie is 1350 daily. I'm not sure if that's right. Twocutekids, I might take your suggestion about upping the calories a bit because I'm not losing like I should for the amount of exercise I'm doing. |

| Weight Loss | Diet Pills... | Sep 19 2007 17:39 (UTC) |
|
The only thing I can say about this is that I also tried a variety of diet pills like you and last year I was down 20 pounds as a result of it, while exercising as well. I got off the pills earlier this year and found out I had gained that and more back. I didn't change anything else in my pattern but getting off the pills. The moral to my story is that no matter what diet pill it is, it's only a temporary fix with consequences in the end. Have a great Calorie Counting Day! |

Guys thanks for the stories. I started about 2 1/2 weeks ago and just got on the scale this morning. I'm down three pounds...but I'm still on my monthly cycle...so I'm hoping by next week I will have lost more. I'm working out 4 days a week; cardio for an hour and some light weights. My body is starting to feel toned but my middle section feels like it's getting bigger sometimes. Staying consistent I guess is the key for us all...Have a good rest of the day all!! |

| Recipes | Seasoning for chicken breast? | Aug 16 2007 22:41 (UTC) |

| Try using Adobo seasoning. You can get it in the spanish aisle or spice section. I use a knive and slit each breast first, then sprinkle Adobe on both sides. Then I place them in a container and dabble some chopped garlic on each. I usually buy the canned garlic instead of chopping it myself....or you can use garlic powder too. Then I pour a generous amount of olive oil and let it marinate overnight. It's really tasty! Hope that helps! | |||

Getting hungry around period time is a major problem for me too, so you're not alone. I thought it was a mind game until I realized I get uncontrollable urges for chocolate around a week before I get mine. The chocolate cravings kill my diet because I often find myself binging and can't just have a piece. I have to find an alternate snack! Can I stop the cravings or is it something hormonal? |
