| Welcome back Morgan!!! My gym visits are going ok. I have missed a couple but back on track now I hope! And I still went like 3 times in last week which isn't bad just not as good as before! Won't be going next couple of days as visiting my grandma in countryside but intend on making it up by going for some countryside jogs/ horse riding. Well done on new low and make sure you let us know how the interviews turn out - it sounds like it went brilliantly so fingers crossed!!!! xxx | |||

| oh and McBoddy - thanks for advice. I know it is wrong to never allow yourself a treat!! I have just had a quarter of a chocolate muffin and I have the other quarter in the fridge for my tea break later. I figure half a small chocolate muffin can be my friday treat! Good luck with that swimsuit honey. I know you can do it!!! That mom on the detox diet sounds horrendous! stacey - congrats on new low - so pleased for you!!! Everybody we seem to be getting in sync with our TTOM - I've heard about ti happening with people that live together but don't think it should happen on message boards haha. just realised 2 weeks till LA for me ! Whoop! x |

| well with the gymnema stuff I wouldn't use it all the time although it is meant to be good for people wiht PCOS but I'm already on a perscription drug which is working. My endocrynologist just thought it would be interesting for me or anyone to try -some people in the office have tried it today and its really quite funny - actually tasting how much fat is in something really brings it home you know? | |||

| did a good work out last ngith and once again have gone up half a lb (not our week hey Brigitte!) - Oh well I'm not panicking!
Anyway last nigth after work I also went to my endocrinologist check up ('cos I have polycystic ovary syndrome) and he said he was very pleased with my weight loss progress - woohoo! (Losing weight is one of the best ways to deal with PCOS naturally). I then jokingly mentioned chocolate Friday and he gave me this natural herb which is actually used for PCOS/diabetes/weightloss support as basically it helps modulate blood sugar highs. Its harmless for anyone to use and you can get it in health fod shops...anyway the reason he gave it to me and the reason I'm telling you this is that if you get it in drop form and put a drop or two in half a glass of water and drink it it stops your sugar taste buds from working for a while. He told me to try it before having a piece of chocolate or something and it would put off chocolate for quite few days - he is NOT wrong... oh my god - because it blocks the taste of sugar all you can taste is the lardy fatty tast - its disgusting and all I tried was a little bit of chocolate fudge icing. I think chocolate Friday is going to go ok! People should give it a go! its called Gymnema. Thanks everyone for the advice about chocolate Friday - you'll be pleased to know that even if I am tempted after the horrible experience this morning I have a bag of carrot sticks and also a tub of strawberries and blueberries to snack on and I've packed a salad for lunch with low fat mozzerella, beets, red peppers and prawns - yum Vicki -glad the cravings are over - hope they don't come back. Don't question the donuts and still losing weight - just revel in it hehe. Brigitte - maybe you are gaining some muscle weight!! It certainly doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong thats for sure. Tina -it sounds like your weight is coming off steadily so just keep going and maybe try cutting down on the sodium. How did running the dish go? Welcome Nika! Ciao for now x |

| I have just discovered that tomorrow in this office I'm temping in is "chocolate Friday". I have to buy loads of chocolate on my way in and it is put in a bowl, and chocolate cake and muffins and put them out on plates and they are going to be about 5 metres from my desk! It is going to be awful! And I can't move them somewhere else - I can't hardly come into an office that I'm temping in for 4 days and say -actually can I change where you put out all the chocolate each Friday!!! Oh dear - and chocolate really is my downfall! | |||

| Grrr... I have gone up today from yesterday and I was really good about eating yesterday to0!! Hopefully its because TTOM is due and I'm just holding a bit of extra water weight - its was making me a bit depressed on way to work but reading good old cc has perked me up a bit! Also didn't end up managing to get to the gym yesterday - will have to work out extra hard tonight as thats 2 days without exercise
Vicky - good luck with TTOM I know the feeling! As for the snickers bar - I have given in to a bar of chocolate here and there over TTOM - some times you just have to have some chocolate (better than biting off someones head cos you're in such a bad mood hey?!) Stacey: That windy bike ride sounds like my idea of hell!!! Congratulations on getting home and not just giving up and throwing the bike a ditch (trust me I would have been tempted lol). Congrats on not pizza splurging McBoddy - I can't believe you have only got 2lb more to lose - that is absolutely amazing! Mranae - one slurge is not the end of the world and a really good thing to remember is that even if you do weight 2lbs more the next day you have really put on 2lbs of fat - its just sodium/water weight! Losing weight is hard and it does affect your life somewhat but you can't let it ruin days like your daughter graduating! Girlier - congrats on the weight - I can't wait to see 138 - it is a big marker for me! Tina - congrats on getting down to last weeks weight already after your SB weekend - you've managed to do what I planned to do!!! also not only a compliment but a compliment from a tax director - I reckon thats worth 2 x the compliment! I don't reckon tax directors give out compliments that often! hehe good old stereotype Chloe! Brigitte - go on the new bikini! wahey! You're so lucky its warm enough to sunbathe! Its horrible and rainy here! And as for the 1/2lb I bet its already gone today no? Hope everyones well! x |

| Heya guys,
Sorry about my radio silence - have been temping at a job where - horror of horrors - I haven't been able to access CC. Don't worry though, all is right in the world again and now until the end of the week I have a job where CC is accessible on my computer. Had a really fun weekend but horribly it on Monday morning I was 144 up from 140 on Friday and I'm only 143 today - I'm not happy about it! Although TMI but I have gone to the loo since I weighed myself this morning and I hadn'y gone properly for a few days. Have been good at going to the gym and doing extra so I'm hoping that if I just continue with the eating well (after the weekend blip) I will get back on track - Also I'm going to m y 92 year old grandma's this weekend so I won't be drnking too muich there and can go for walks in the countryside or maybe even go horseriding. There is only like 16 dyas till my holiday though and I really wantto get down below 140 and not just like 1lb under so I put it straight back on but like 136 but thinking this is not going to happen unfortunately!! Sorry about that little ramble/rant! Anyway, welcome to the newbies - we have quite a few! Brigitte: I think the clothes look really nice on you and not to young at all! I can't believe you have lost 70lbs! that amazing - you realise that you have lost like a 1/3 of your boday weight - and if you think that your skeleton probably weighs about 70lbs you have actually lost like half of your body mass excluding bones!!! (yes I work out weird things I know!) Thats great that your trend line is below 140!!! Vicki - its annoying when work gets in the way of CC isn't it! haha Stacey - go on the compliments - its so nice isn't it when you receive them - I'm seeing some old family friends next weekend who I haven't see since I was 150 so I'm hoping they notice! Bliss - let us know about the Itrain thing _ I actually haven't got an ipod - shock horror! - but I'm beginning to get really bored of the tunes played at my gym so am going to get one - will wait until I go to america though since they will be way cheaper than in expensive england lol. Lucky - thisi s a really good and supportive group so you have found a good'un trust me! I'm sure its helped me shift an extra few lbs than I would have done alone! I hope Morgan's interviews are going well!! Goingto make a tea now and definately not going to look at the biscuits in the work snack cupboard!!! |

| heya guys! quick question for all of you. Last couple of weeks I've been trying to eat most of my carbs and cals earlier in the day which seems to have been working. Tomorrow, however, going out to a party where I will be drinking (although try not to drink too much!) but if I don't have some carbs before drinking I get tipsy ridiculously fast - any ideas for a dinner which isn't too high in cals but still has some carbs and won't make my stomach bloat too much? My minds gone blank as have been mostly having omelettes, tuna salads, etc for dinner which are carb free xxx | |||

| I would wear a skirt that I have from ages ago - I loved it but bought it just as I was beginning to put on weight and horror of horrors I wore it one night and a bit of one of the seams ripped! Thank god no one saw and I could hide it with a jumper wrapped round my waist. I have now fixed it and it is hanging in my closet waiting to be showed off again!!! | |||

| ooh I'm creeping closer to the 130's - was 140.5 today! Unfortunately I have the big party tomorrow so I'll prob push up my weight just as I'm closing in on the 130's!! haha. Oh well will just have to be extra good for rest of the weekend.
Went to the gym yesterday and was glad I couldn't do arm weights cos of my arm cos there were some really scary big muscly men standing round all seeing who could lift the most haha. Arm completely better today! Gosh there have been lots of posts - although to be fair alot of them are about si6 and between tina and brigette! Stacey - I find when I take a day off from the gym I often lose a bit of weight - apparently its because when you go to the gym alot your body tries to protect your joints and so you retain a bit of water around your joints so a day off makes that drain away. Brigitte - as for the peanut brittle I sent round an email to the whole office emphasizing how delicious it was so everyone came straight away and ate it before I could eat any more (I just had a little piece - well I HAD to try it!!). I would also like to know what the best exercise for burning off stomach fat is - that really is my problem area! I have quite skinny legs - in fact someone once told me when I was in the 150's that I looked like a pumpkin on stilts - nice! Tina - yes yes yes the alcohol dehydration deficit in weight - exciting to see those numbers on the scale but depressing when you realise you are missing about a gallon of water from your body! when we have a hangover we should stand on the scales holding bottles of water haha! Its so nice you go running with your hubby - I need to find myself a fit boyfriend to drag me out running! girlier - stop boasting about the weather - I came to work with ballet pumps on yesterday and my feet were all soaking wet by time I got home!! Actually bad weather is more conducive to convincing myself to go to the gym - when its nice I just want to go and sit outside somewhere! vicki - its nice when you boyf/hubby pokes you in the stomach when youre losing weight isn't it ? not so nice when you're putting it on like an old boyfriend of mine used to do! haha Where is Morgan? If you come on here Morgan - how is the gym going? When I consider not going I keep thinking - no Morgan said in my journal she was going to start going again - you're keeping me motivated!! hehe I expect to hear that you have been going lots! welcome Heidi! Keep up the good work everyone! |

| heya guys!
Mcboddy - Stay with us!! I love our group! congratulations on the weight loss. as for drinks - I'm a white wine girl but have been trying to drink vodka/gin and slim line tonics at the moment when drinking. i thin kthe rule of thumb is by the way - the clearer the spirit the lower the calories. Tara - how was the morning weight? I usually lose between 2 and 3 lbs overnight - is this the same as most people? tina - how was your hubby's birthday? did you manage to not eat too much cake? Tara - I would like some ideas for good lunches to pack too - I'm getting bored of my salads. Yesterday I went to tescos and didn't know what to eat so bought a can of soup and a bag of green beans - yes that was a random lunch, I def need new ideas! Kate - lets break the weight room fear together - I have started using it and am tres proud of self! good luck on breaking the plateau - don't worry it will happen - I have finally managed to break mine - it just requires not giving up! As for me - at 141 again today which I'm pleased about. Last night danced around trying on lots of clothes for my party on Sat night - really can't decide what to wear! I'll get photo up when I have decided! Didn't go to the gym yesterday as was just knackered after a stressful day and had gone the previous 3 days - but last night I slept strangely and seem to have done something to my left arm - I'm going to try and go to the gym this evening anyway and hopefully the exercise will loosen it up - I'll just have to stop if it hurts. oh my god - just as I'm writing this someone has put chocolate covered peanut brittle on reception from America... Its DELICIOUS... god I would be twice the size if I lived in the US |

| heya guys,
Hope everyone is well... I'm enjoying the English bank holiday even though the weather is not that great. I went out to Sunday lunch with my parents and god parents yesterday and only had a soup and a starter as my main course which was good of me I thought! Anyhow I'll write more in my journal about the weekend. Brigette: big night out? haha I haven't drunk all weekend and its so nice to have a whole weekend without even a slight hangover - although you might well just be tired! Dharma - I know what you mean about "a set weight" and I think its true in a way but I think that basically you can train your body to a new set weight. Also I have read that it takes your body a whole 6 months to adapt to a new weight - i.e for the first 6 months of maintenance you have to be extra careful! Welcome Kate! Well done Morgan on the size 6 clothes!! I bought some clothes on Sat and haven't gone down a size but when I compared them to some of my old clothes the new ones are a bit smaller so thats cool - god I do wish that sizes wouldn't vary from shop to shop though! see you all soon... keep on it!!! |

| oh god this is so the sort of thing that I used to do and it does NOT work - you push your metabolism low and then when it comes to the weekend your body grabs hold of all the calories as it were and then it takes you till Friday to lose all the weight you put on only for you to stuff yourself again - while of course lots of us eat a bit more at weekends I would be trying to push down your weekend calories alot and your week day calories should be pushed up a bit x | |||

| hello! welcome Nooree - firstly congrats on 40lbs. secondly - I looked at your profile and like the SMART thing! And as vicky says this a great group of people who have all become friendly over time - very supportive! i have to say the great thing about this group is that people are genuinely happy for you when you lose weight - I have so many friends who are always telling me not to lose more/go one eat some cake - funny how its always the size 6 ones!! (American size 2) Brigitte - I only like grapefruit when I put splenda or a sweetner on it! Also yes I should try to get up slightly earlier before work but at the moment I'm working different shift times - sometimes start at 7.30am sometimes at 9.30am and all times in between - I should really go to the gym before work on the late shift days: but this job does make it quite hard to build up a routine. When I start my proper job in the summer I will be starting at 8am and there is a gym in the building so then I'll make extra effort - especially in banking I won't know what time I'll finish! Also I have heard it take about 3 weeks for something to become habit. Wolfie - I can def sleep in v late in one the weekends! its just so hard to get out of the warm duvet!! Girlier - make sure you let me know how you do on the early morning work outs Brits out there: any plans for the bank holiday - really must not stuff myself at BBQ's etc on the long weekend! I'm down another 0.5lbs today - honestly don't know whats going on!!! oh well don't care if its water weight! i haven't been 142.5 in AGES! Better get back to work - Grrrrrr x |

Morgan: don't you just love it when you don't go up when you are really expecting too! - also be strong just say no!! vicky - how sweet of your husband! although can I ask what Sweetest day is ? Is it like Valentines day? Gosh so many American references go {whoosh} - right over my head! haha - I'm going to start talking in cockney rhyming slang - that will confuse you all! Vicky I'm also sooooo impressed with you and others going to the gym at 6am... I have to go after work - everytime I try to go to the gym before I fail miserably! Stacey - how nice to watch sun rise as you bike to work! And good going at 141 after food and with clothes!! Brigitte -well done for sticking in the 130's! Everybody: I think we should all buy ourselves more gifts - although it sounds like we're doing pretty well already! ciao for now! x |

| haha - I love the talk about gifts for yourselves... I have only just got in to buying online and as much as I love shopping there is something about a little package arriving! bought a lovely dress from ASOS.com the other day (was going to post a link but it is already gone - obviously popular).
Teenwolf - just been looking at your photos - your face has changed lots - I love it when my face gets thinner!! aslo what are you going to give yourself a treat when you reach your goal? Or is reaching it a treat enough!? hehe I'm down to 143 today - don't know whats going on - thats a loss of 0.5 lbs per day for like 4 days - not that I'm complaining! probably just water but atleast I feel like I've broken through the plateau (and I had curry out last night!) All this talk about the pill etc. does anyone think that being on the pill is detrimental to them losing weight? Hmm - still not sure I've done my ticker right! haha oh well. |

| heya guys! Went to the gym last night and my back actually feels alot better today - I mean I took it quite easy but obviously have to. Cigarette cravings are alot better today thankfully. I think the first day is the hardest one - oh and of course the first day you get tipsy - thats a really hard one! thanks everyone for the supportive messages and teenwolf have tried your "air-smoking" and it is helpful! Definately having serious food cravings around the time I have my afternoon cigarette though - went and wandered round tescos about to buy some chocolate but had enough will power to walk out empty handed and go back to work and eat my strawberries - go me!
also Wolfie - what a work out - tres impressive! ciarra - really try not to freak out about going up to 150 - I freaked out alot last week when I went back up to 147 (i didn't log it in my weight page haha) and I'm now down to 143.5 which I haven't seen in a LONG time! (good scales! Although after curry tonight they might not be so kind tomorrow!) everyone talking about the tickers: seriously how do you get a new one? I honestly can only work out how to have one - I can't find a "new ticker" button ... grr. Morgan: I don't count my time on the driving range, like I don't count shopping or walking around in my lunch break - I choose that as a personal choice as I reckon it balances out the days I do nothing/or mis estimate my calorie intake - I just use it as a little fail safe if you get my meaning. Brigitte: I'm a bit burnt out on salads too - I don't know what to do for my lunches which I can make at home which is equally low in calories - Its too sunny for soup - unless I make a gaspacho soup ... hmm.... and its not a matter of bringing in new ingredients to my salads - I'm getting bored of having a lettuce based meal every lunch! oh Stacey said about always having meat/fish in a salad to fill up - I agree and also find some low fat mozzarella is a good'un Wolfie/Morgan I don't even know what a traders joe is ! haha god I can't wait to break in to the 130's its going to happen soon I can feel it haha - thats a good positive mental attitude for you! ciao for now xxx |

| well I got back in to the exercising groove and then what did I do? I picked up a heavy box at work and did my back in ... so basically I have been lying flat on my back the last few days - hence no contact as I don't have internet upstairs at my house. Anyway... this did stop me doing any exercise but I guess it has also stopped me pick pick picking cos I'm 144 today down from about 145.5 the day I did my back.
Also I have given up smoking today (2 months before the no smoking ban in England) and wondered if there are any tips ex-smokers have to stop me snacking instead of smoking!?! Definately going back in the gym today - my osteopath says its ok if I stick to walking and jogging - no eliptical unfortunately which is my fave - maybe I'll go for a swim instead. Stacey - I think we may twins - I think I read somewhere you said you are 5'7" and we are both around the same weight. Hello newbies! And hello again the oldies! I'm not going to reply to loads of people today cos there is way too much to catch up on but I'll get back to it now I'm upright and walking again! xxxx |

| Right I'm getting back in the exercising groove. On Sunday and Monday I burnt 400 cal each day on the cross trainer (is that the same as an elliptical) and did weights both days which is great for me cos I never bother usually! I couldn't go last night but am definately going tonight and tomorrow!
I find weights incredibly boring and also cos they are not burning that many calories there and then they frustrate me - but I'm trying to get into the mind set that the more you do them the more muscle you build and thus the more calories you burn in general. Ciarra - I have had friends who have tried oolong tea and didn't think it helped at all. But I definately agree with the others that drinking tea in general helps to stop cravings and fill you up... also I do believe that when you are drinking something that supposedly helps reduce cravings sometimes it helps by affecting your subconscious! Stacey - what happened with the cookies in the end? Welcome Meg - and great idea to get motivated now... I thought I would just automatically lose the weight I gained at university but trust me it doesn't happen and its only now nearly 2 years after the event I'm finally taking action... Good luck! Hope everyone is well! xxxx |

| Hello all again!
McBoddy and Kiigan: thanks for the advice about dinner... you're right - I've found the menu and although they don't have calories I can kinda estimate from using this and other menus with calories. And you're righ, I will relax and have a good time! My cousin who is coming has told me she has ordered some pink champagne in advance so I have to have some of that of course!! Also I have been a bit slack with the gym so I have already paid for a class for tomorrow morning at my gym so it will make me go! Teenwolf: I love that tee! I'm going to try and find something similar in England for my pregnant cousin - such a cute idea! so thanks! to all the people who commented on biking to work/sweating: yes I am one of the lovely sweaty people in the gym - why on earth do some people not sweat?! So unfair! I look at it from the point of view that we sweaty ones are surely sweating out loads of toxins no?! Kiigan: with Turbo jam how much room do you think you need? My house has got lots of space but most of the spacious areas are stone floors - would i be able to do it on stone floors or would I be likely to strain my knees etc? The largest carpetted area is not tiny but not huge either. Also Kiigan: yes well obviously the shirataki noodles are not as good as pasta - but what could be? Just think they are an excellent substitute when really craving pasta. I think actually the best way I have found to cook them is to stick to the chinesey side of things...bulk it up with some yummy veg which you have grilled, boil the noodles in water with a stock cube and add some soy sauce and toss everything together in a frying pan with a dash of oil (and maybe a little bit of a stir fry sauce for a bit more flavour). Erin: yo uare definately being too strict with yourself which is making your body stick at the same weight. I know its hard to vary your calories especially increase them but if you are really worried about keeping to 1200 average do 1000 everyother day and 1400 everyother day perhaps... or something similar. also I'm definately in the same boat as you with wanting to lose weight and actually stay there... think the thing is your body takes about 6 months to adjust to a new weight so whilst it is tempting to quit a diet when you reach your target it is fatal and the weight just piles back on - when we all reach our targets we should set up a maintainance group! That would be great!! Brigitte: Hope you have a great time at the formal - you will look fab. Ps: Does anyone live in LA? I'm going in june (yes I know - need to be bikini fit for sure!) My great uncle is going to show me around but he keeps asking if there is anything I really want to do but I don't know LA at all so any advice would be great - actually same question for NY please as going there after LA! Have a great weekend everyone! xxxxxxx |
