Thanks! The thing is.... the last time I counted calories... I went crazy. I would eat 1000 calories and try to burn off 500 of those at the gym. That's why I've been trying to stay away from that cuz I don't want to go back to that. Any input on how I can count calories and not go crazY? Sorry... that's just me..... :)

Fitness Anyone do cario for 1 hr many days a week??? Mar 03 2009

I do cardio for an hour about 4 times a week and my knees ache too. The elliptical gave me patellar tendonitis. What you should do is ice it everyday after the gym. Trust me it will help ALSO... when my knee is throbbing I wear a brace and then work out. It works wonders. I hope this helps! If it's really bad, just take a break. Or do low impact like cycling.

I first warm up for 20-25 minutes and then I plan out a routine before I go to the gym so if i'm planning on doing legs I do a few diff exercises: I take a 10 pound medicine ball and do lunge and twist, then I use a bosu ball to do backwards lunges, then I use the steps to step up with arm curls, then I do squats with the ball, I sometimes use the bosu ball to do squats as well and sometimes do sideways lunges as well, I do leg presses and use the band to do hip abductions by "walking" side to side. I do 3 sets of 15 on each. I work out my arms too by a circuit machine. Then I finish off with cardio again for about 30 min.

- These are on my lifting days

On my cardio days I just do 60 min of cardio and do multiple ab exercises.

Oh and I am 23 years old and I eat a well balanced diet. I am a vegetarian so I try to eat lots of tofu and drink milk for protein, I eat a bowl of raw vegetables a day, eat trader joes organic O's which have 9g of protein per serving and try to eat only complex carbs so I can have natural energy.

So basically I should wait. It's hard but I have no other option. I do watch my calorie intake and burn around 600-700 calories during every cardio workout. I know I cannot pin point my area of working out. Hopefully things will get better. :)

Thank you guys!

Weight Loss So..are there any diet pills that actually work? Aug 15 2007

Hi,

"if it were that easy, everyone would be doing it". I am a pharmachology grad student and let me tell you... pills are a bad idea. especially the ones you buy over the counter. I've taken them all, hun. ALL. When it comes down to it, it just has this generic for speed in it and it supposedly helps your lose weight  or curb your appetite. To tell you the truth if it DID work, why has the FDA not approved any of them? Cuz they don't work. It's a scheme.

There ARE FDA approved diet pills. Hurray. But, they have to be perscribed by your doctor. If you are taking pills then consult your or any doctor about it and if they think you NEED perscription drugs, they will give them to you.

Long story short, they are a rip off and you're better at just working out and controlling what you eat. It's all psychological. Know taht your stomach is only as big as your fist. You can't stuff so much in it and studies have proven that when your body is hungry, it wants NUTRIOUS (spelling haha) food. But, if you eat junk, your body requires MORE AND MORE food to satisfy the amount of nutrients it needs. Obviosuly a cup of milk has more nutriional value than a can of soda. Know what I mean?

If it's still difficult then take your favorite food. Let's say a slice of pizza. Take two big bites and chew but don't swallow. Spit it back out and see what it looks like and HOW big it is in reference to your fist. and then put it back in your mouth. Pizza will never seem the same to you.

That's all! =) I hope it's helped.
