NPR for global news and my local paper for local news. ...my local paper is very conservative...yet NPR is not, it's sort of refreshing to get two "views" on facts. |

Original Post by floggingsully: None, there is no law. If you can find it please send it to me, I'll give you my e-mail address. I'm very serious, if you do find it let me know. PG - I actually value a lot. You don't know me so it's hard for me to give you everything without you seeing my actions. I do donate to the local fire and police squads every year, and I have done my share in filling the pot holes on my street. I value the community that does that. Also, I let a homeless man live with me when he was on hard times, I donate to local and national charities. I volunteer at a local shelter many times a year. I'd rather give my time than my money if I can...but sometimes, money is needed and in those instances I give. I'm having a hard time articulating myself here, so I'm going to bow out, but if I can compile a list a bit later after work, I'll try and get my thoughts out in a coherent fashion. :) ...and it's Tatjana....with a J, not a Y. :) |

Original Post by kathygator: This...I agree with this! :) And "they" is the government, out cities, our states. And my money is the taxes I pay. I didn't exect the responses I got here...and yes, we are heading 100% to a socialist state. Show me how we are not please. |

Original Post by nomoreexcuses: Oh it all pisses me off. I'd chose not to pay for any of it......I don't enjoy living in a socialist country...I don't think any of us should pay for it....they're sucking us dry of any money any of us has left...and now they're going to pull more out of me? Awesome. |

I don't see why I should have to pay for someone to heal themselves, when, they most likely don't want help in the first place. It's not my responsibility.. However, I do take responsibility to educate myself on addictions and take steps to prevent myself from becoming addicted in the first place.

You do have to qualify....unless you know someone or have an "in"... It's definitely possible you could finish it..not sure what your running skills are like.
Edited to add qualifying times: http://www.bostonmarathon.org/BostonMarathon/ Qualifying.asp and how to qualify: http://www.the-fitness-motivator.com/qualify- for-the-boston-marathon.html |

We're saving for..... A HOUSE!!!! :) We have our budget all set up with an Excel spreadsheet. We save all our receipts and make sure we stick within our very strict budget. We anticipate as long as we keep this up...we'll have $30,000 to put down as a payment in four years! woooo! ...also....another english bulldog....so, it's kind of a 2fer...I want them both but have to have one before I can get the other one! :) Good luck everyone!!! Saving can be difficult, but it's SO worth it! |

If you want to talk, message me...my brother is bulemic, I know it's not the same exact thing, but dealing with an eating disorder is very difficult both emotionally and physically. I should also mention he was anorexic for about 2 years maybe 9ish years ago...the restriction pushed him into bulemia. He's been dealing with eating disorders for amost a decade now. |

This is but only one reason for veganism: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kHmS6onJH0 Seriously, it's a hard to digest video at some parts, but it discusses the way humans have exploited animals...to each their own I guess, I'm not one to preach, but flonklar, this might answer some of your questions.
Edited to address flonklar, not enchantedsky. sorry! |

| Weight Loss | Reward | Apr 07 2009 15:38 (UTC) |

It must be hard...your job..your position, I couldn't imagine doing what you do, you are to be rewarded, but have you considered rewarding yourself in different ways, other than food? Sometimes, I enjoy a self done pedicure, manicure, bath with lots of bubbles and some candles, throw a book in there and I could be in there all night. What about a walk after dinner? I know it's hard, especially since you're so hungry when you get home, but I would do what gi-jane suggests and plan a meal for when you get home, eat the meal and then "treat" yourself to somethign, like a movie or a rockin' book, some time for YOU. Do you have any hobbies? Anything you can interject into your night? Is there anything you wanted to try? I used to reward myself with fresh acrylic paints on the weekend and I'd be so excited to use them through the week. It's amazing how great a new paint brush can feel..or a new bottle of nail polish...or anything that suits you! Good luck...it is hard...it really is. |

I use Country Kitchen light oatmeal, but they also have a light italian and also a light wheat. They're very good, I don't think they taste funny, the slices are smaller than most other bread, but it fills me up! |

I have a proform, but I don't remember what the model is. I purchased it used from a lady off Craigslist for $200. I've had it for about 3 months and it's been GREAT, no issues no problems. She had it for 4 years and got it maintenanced every year, so she took good care of it when she had it. So...in my experience, the proform is great, but again, she took care of it and I plan to do the same. IF you could find anything on Craigslist..obviously, that would be good for you since you're on a budget. When we went to pick it up, she left it plugged in and unfolded so I could get on it and try it before we left with it, I was grateful for that. So, hopefully you can find a used one, maybe put a "wanted" in Craigslist? But if not, I'm having success with the proform (and I run every day).

We go to our local Asian Market an but a package...and I'm talking a package that will last us for a couple of weeks (two of us) for less than 5.00, now, the calorie in that is 350 per...I think they're rice noodles, but if you browse the market, you can find noodles for a lot less calories than those, but the prices are typically less than our local grand super market...a lot less. Just an avenue to pursue. |
