Another vote here for a.m. workouts. I love working out in the morning. It is pretty tough getting out of bed sometimes, but I don't get home from class until 10 p.m. three days a week and when I am home at night, I'd rather be hanging out with my hubby than going in the basement to workout alone. In the morning he sleeps till 630 and our puppy goes back to bed after I get up at 5, so it works out rather well. Like someone else said, I also like getting it out of the way first thing in the morning. Another good point someone mentioned, I have a lot more energy during the day :) it's all up to you... :) I'm repeating more good advice here, lol, try it for a week/month (the first week is going to be hard, so you may want to give it a month) and see how you feel! it's your call, really ;) |

thanks for the input! greatly appreciated. Turns out, not pregnant :( ttom came this morning. I'm a little bummed but everything happens for a reason and we're going to be putting more efforts into baby-making at the end of next summer, so, I'm just going to wait till then! thanks again! also, I'll try to be a little more careful with the overexertion on the elliptical :) Maybe a water bottle will help a little b/c I forgot to grab one before my workout Monday. |

just to throw it out there.. We did just buy a house and moved in, in the last month, plus I just had a lot of stress with school.. so, late ovulation seems entirely possible... thanks for your reply! |

my name is Stacey. I've never really had any weight problems.. I was raised with horrible eating habits and was told I could "eat anything b/c of my fast metabolism". So I did.. I got in that habit and have been working really hard to break it. I think I got up to 160 at one point, my lowest was 130 and now I'm somewhere in between that ;) but at 5'8", I am at a very healthy weight! I love riding my bike, hiking, walking, lifting weights, swimming, rollerblading, pretty much anything. I don't particularly care for running, but like to run on a trail when I can. I also have an elliptical at home that I use pretty frequently. I try to eat as clean as possible which would probably be 75% of the time. I'm not perfect, but I hopefully have strong enough of a mindset to do it that when I decide to have kids, I can encourage them to eat healthy :) Like Karey, I definitely indulge because life is just too short to live without treats! Karey - this is such a great idea!! I'm pretty excited about this group :) and you are right, reading other people's weights can get rather discouraging. I like being healthy. I like exercising. My weight is fine where it's at but sometimes reading about others, I think, well if they can weigh XXX, then so can I. but in reality, I think my body has found its set point. I'd still like to lose a few, but if I don't, it isn't the end of the world. I have a lot going on right now in my life that is much more important than my healthy weight :) magee - nice to meet you! sounds like you have great, active extracurricular activities :) I hate cold, too. Karey has some good ideas with cross-country skiing and all that. I bought an elliptical that folds up for $700 and have been using it for about 3 years, especially in winter. It has done me well :) I like cooking also but I am definitely still learning! agru- hey! health+life... good call :) It isn't about a number, so lets all hide our scales ;) John - Hi to you, too! my favorite healthy foods... hmmm... I'd have to say eggs, broccoli, any seafood, oatmeal (only in the winter), all fruits, almonds, avacado, turkey breast, chicken breast, idk.. there are a whole lot :) talk to you all soon! |

OMG!! My realtor called me last night... these people selling the house are literally BEGGING for an offer! and guess what, the adjacent 5 acres is for sale!! Our realtor seems to think we can put in an offer of $75K and possibly get the house AND the extra 5 acres!!!!! 10 acres total!! can you believe it??! keep your fingers crossed for me guys, this may be too good to be true
in other news.. up super early today b/c I left work early yesterday to go to the doctor's office. yep, ear infection. but I have to make up the time at work, hour early today, hour early Monday. No biggie :) I actually got up and exercised today!! Good stuff! I wanted to see the results of SYTYCD and I'm happy. Still pissed that my favorite girl got voted off last week... but oh well. far in the past. lol. I think I'm going to lift weights tomorrow, btw :) Yesterday at the doctors I weighed at 148 :( but that's fully clothed, and towards the afternoon.. I'm thinking I weigh 144 in the morning. which still kinda sucks but at least I'm healthy! snow - good job with the shopping :) you'd be proud of me... last night I went to the grocery store and almost bought ice cream, but I realized I still needed my fruit for the day and went home and had a peach instead! agru - how exciting to have the summer off!! Paris is going to amazing! don't forget your camera ;) Yeah, I thought ear infections stopped after age 10.. lol, guess I was wrong! but somehow I still got my exercise in! pilgrim - we are incredibly excited right now :) It's what we've always wanted! Yeah, the house may not be exactly what we wanted, but with all that land, we'll get over it! and like you said, it'd be OURS so we could do with it what we want! thank you for the luck! we'll need all we can get! and I beg to differ about the alcohol... lol.. that's how I gained 20 lbs in the first place!!!! my day: total - 1630.. burned 2100 so almost 500 cal deficit. I'm not so sure I'll be having that much to eat for dinner or lunch. We'll see :) I may go with a hot dog for lunch. Which would probably be 300 cals. But, whatever! I'm going to have a great day regardless! May go out for a beer after putting a bid on that house... so let's just say I'm having a maintenance day today ;) have a great day everyone!!!!

good morning! no workout this morning.. I think I have an ear infection so I'm super uncomfortable right now... My right ear/side of face feels numb and I can't hear anything over there. I left class early last night b/c it was pretty sore. I have to make an appointment to get that taken care of. I'm going to jump on the elliptical tonight, probably around 9pm, before bed. I think we're going to put a bid on that house... ! It does need some serious updating, but it isn't anything that needs to be done right this second. The only things that HAVE to be done are the roof and the septic. The kitchen needs to be redone, but again, not right away. I want to make it a vintage-country kitchen b/c it has a wood burner that is pretty sweet looking... lol typa - a bowl of high-fiber, nutricious cereal would probably be good :) cheerios, kashi, life, I'm sure you could read some labels and pick up a good one. always easy! step classes are definitely not easy! I'm glad your husband got to experience that! snow - you're great at keeping a well-balanced day, I'm sure one day out of the loop isn't going to hurt :) good job influencing hubby to exercise!! I think the watermelon count is too high! isn't watermelon mostly... water?? lol... I could be wrong though. agru - it's okay to be lazy once in a while :) yeah, we tend to drink a bit when we camp, lol. pilgrim - yeah, water weight is a HUGE factor in fluxuations.. just eating more sodium in one day can really pack on the water weight. but, at least you recognize it :) it obviously isn't real weight and can easily be counter-acted. my day: total - 1280. Not too bad if I decide not to exercise. If I do have time to exercise I will DEFINITELY add some food... or something. Maybe cheese and crackers.. mmmm.. I'd be adding at least another 200-300 cals. no worries :) |

good morning! I woke up way later than I wanted (alarm clock got off track) and no workout :( I was all ready, too!! But I didn't get up till 635 and I had to leave at 715. I picked up breakfast for visitors today (wonderful life of the admin. assistant, lol) and got myself a breakfast sandwich, too. It has bacon, egg, cheese on ciabatta. Delicious, but high-cal. oh well, I don't really care :) Yesterday I had a HUGE serving of Chicken paprikash and a beer after looking at houses. So, I think I got to about 1700 cals, total for the day... I felt skinnier today, but didn't step near the scale. I just didn't want to, lol. I have class tonight, so no workout... tomorrow for sure though :) So, this one house sounds pretty good... There is an additional 5 acres next door for sale (there is already 4.5 with the house) and if we can wrap that all up, we'll be putting a bid on it. It also has a 9-stall barn, plus we'd have 10 acres total! But, I have to find out from our realtor how much that land is... we figure we'd add $30K to fix the place up (needs a new roof, the kitchen is there but DEFINITELY needs to be redone, and possibly new septic... plus, new flooring and paint throughout..) but, if we get it for $60K maybe $70K with the adjacent land, I think we'll be smiling :) we could have all that for about $100K!! something to look into, for sure ;) pilgrim - rough days at work are through, for now :) work is either feast or famine around here... right now, closer to famine so I'm not super swamped, just busy still :) I also love seafood! Karey - that sucks that an appointment was a no-show, I hope you have a better day today! yeah, we want our honeymoon to be a week-long backpacking trip :) avid campers here! that's a bummer that the broccoli soup didn't work so well.. you'll get it eventually :) and I'm sure it will be delicious! what about adding some potatoes to thicken it up a little? that podcast sounds interesting; I never really feel guilty about indulging, lol. So, that's a good thing :) I'm not much into reality shows, so I didn't even start watching "More to Love" lol :) morton - thank you! yes, we'll be putting money into whatever we find... but hopefully we can find something soon to get that $8000 tax credit ... that will help! agru - how fun to be planning for Paris!! Yeah, I was a little low yesterday but I always end up getting something in to bump it up a little before the end of the day :) Our favorite pizza place is a nearby bar that makes fresh dough and ingredients everyday.. it is amazing!!! my day: have a great day everyone!! |

I definitely over-exaggerate with certain people about what I'm eating... One of my friends always asks, what did you eat? when I say I just had breakfast or lunch or something. common convo friend : here, have some chips she knows I try to eat healthy, she just thinks I may eat like a bird or something.. idk... |

Here are some results: I am entering 5'8", 145 lbs to find my BMR... I just went to the first few websites when I googled BMR... http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ - 1496 cals so, it seems like I'm right on the money, no? If I would just stop drinking so much beer, I think I'd be great at losing weight! damn summer... I bet once summer settles down I'll behave :) |

good morning! I'm in a really good mood today :) I feel kinda fat, but it's not bringing me down any! lol! We are going to look at houses tonight, so I am really excited about that. Nothing else exciting going on. I got up and did the hard workout this morning on the elliptical. So I was happy about that! No workout tonight since we're going house-hunting! I'm not sure if I turned off my straightening iron this morning.. I always do that... It's such a habit that I can't remember if I actually did it or not! I'm sure I did, I always do :) snow - yeah, hubby is a walking compass :) I never have to worry about getting lost! it's great! I'm glad you're having such success with maintaining! I bet if i had more time for exercise, I'd be fine. But I like to eat without much time for exercising :( maybe once I get out of school it'll even out a little better... Karey - I am definitely far from girly, lol! We do some insane camping where we don't have have access to a shower or bathroom for a weekend. It's so fun! We also do a 4-day canoe trip but I think this year it has been cancelled b/c our camping buddies are on a serious budget right now :( but, oh well.. we're just going to camp at a local campground. a degree in nutrition would be awesome! I'll cross my fingers for you on winning the lotto :) you'll just have to share! lol!! j/k! I put 1 tsp sugar (15cals) and 2 tbs half n' half (40 cals). I like to keep my ingredient lists short, so I try to go for the more natural, less additive route. I need to get a HRM. don't have the finances right now, though :( I'll definitely check out other websites as far as my bmr and let you guys know what I come up with! pilgrim - that is great that you had such a wonderful time! good job indulging and not feeling guilty, that is the key to enjoying great times and great food!!! agru - yeah, I'll definitely check some more resources :) it's called South Chagrin Reservation and the trail we went on follows the Chagrin River. So much fun! I love hiking too! Oh my, that pizza was HUGE! it was a huge sheet pizza, there were 36 pieces and the pieces were seriously like 5"x5"! morton - nice job staying around 130, I don't think you'll have a problem keeping it there :) Yeah, I'd love to join you at 130, unfortunately I can't even get to the 140 mark! 130 would be too low for me anyways, lol. I'm far too curvy for that number! my day: total - 1335-1435. Burn is 2100-2200 (hard workout may have been 400 cals burned, it's a toughy, lol) so my defecit is 765-865. I should probably eat more, especially if CC counts are low... I'm going to research now :) talk to you all soon! have a great day!! |

a few quick things... added a bag of chips to lunch, total today is 1310, so closer to where I need to be house viewing got changed to tomorrow, yay! so now I can go see houses and go to class tonight! yay! k9- i guesstimate my burned via CC. it says my BMR is 1475 just lying in bed all day. since I'm sedentary at work, i only add 300 to my bmr, so a lazy day with no exercise I figure I burn 1800. Then, for exercise, I read somewhere count 10 calories per minute on the elliptical, so 30 minutes, I count 300 cals. for 30-45 minutes of weightlifting I count 150 cals. I don't know where I got that number.. maybe CC and other resources?? lol... |

good morning!! weekend was great! hubby is going to check out 2 houses tonight that we drove by on Saturday. Unfortunately I have school :( I guess I don't really have to go to school b/c I'm probably not going to pass a test anyways, but I really should go. We'll see how I feel by the end of the day, lol. I don't really want to miss a class but I do have a lot going on right now. Saturday turned out great foodwise. Got a salad for lunch (grilled chicken, grilled onions, mushrooms, french fries and melted provolone with poppyseed dressing) It was huge, delicious and filling and I only ate about half. For dinner we had cheese and crackers, pretzel rods and popcorn, lol. I also had a few beers. I'd say I rounded out at about 2000-2100 so not too shabby. Sunday I wasn't too hungry in the morning so I just had coffee and pb on toast. For lunch I had a turkey sandwich with salad and a few pretzel rods. Then we went on this CRAZY hike that was really fun and really demanding. It was a 2.5 hour hike and we were seriously in jungle-like areas! Grass as tall as me and bushes and stuff everywhere; I even got stuck in a pricker bush at one point, lol. We only walked about a mile but since we really had to crawl through all kinds of stuff, it took a pretty long time. We even got a little lost and off the trail once, but hubby is great with directions and all that, so we got out fine :) I'd say I probably burned about 400-500 cals, no? I'm not sure how to count all that kind of stuff. Then our friends brought over some pizza and salad and after that hike I was STARVING! I actually was pretty good and had 2.5 pieces of pizza and a big salad. I also had a beer and a brownie :) Overall it was a great day! Unfortunately, I was so wiped out from the hike yesterday I was way too tired to get out of bed this morning and get on the elliptical. Tomorrow will be better. I'll be up for sure. My sister suggested a yoga workout that is on Fit TV that I could tape but I'm not sure how much I'm into yoga. Maybe I'll tape one and try it on a Saturday. I really like my elliptical, so I may just keep on keepin on with that :) agru - we ♥ the motorcycle :) we didn't get to take it out, but maybe next weekend. yay for sun! maybe add some mild salsa to your burrito? corn? My friend makes a pretty good black bean dip, I'm sure you could make something like that :) sounds like a great day yesterday! snow - sounds like you have this maintenance thing downpat :) eating here and there with treats in between! karey - yeah, I could go in on Saturdays sometimes if I wanted the extra money, so that's kind of a nice option to have also. But, at least you love your job, too :) I really don't like my job, but it pays the bills! lol. We used to have a Don Pablo's by us but they closed. I didn't like it quite as much as Don Tequila's though, but I'm sure you had a good one! Don Pablo's sounds like a high-frequency restaurant but probably not owned by the same company, ya know? I checked out my pressed flowers and the roses got moldy :( everything else looks great though, but I was pretty excited about the roses. Oh well, I'm going to let it dry a little and then see if I can spruce it up a little.. I really want some ice cream.... maybe this weekend I'll get some :) I want to go to the beach!!! maybe I'll drag hubby this weekend.. I want to go swimming, I think we'd have fun. He's not much of a swimmer, but taking an activity is a pretty good idea! sounds like you had a great weekend, too! yesterday: total, burned 2300, consumed 1830. good deal :) today: total, burned 1800, consumed 1170?? I guess I do have a lot of fruit in there... I'll try adding something later tonight. I'll be more likely to snack if I end up skipping school.. Maybe if we go look at that house I'll get some ice cream like I want so bad :) That'd probably take me to 1470. Wouldn't mind a bigger defecit, but since I don't really want to dip below 1400, I guess I'll just have to live with the 300 defecit since I don't have time to exercise today. Oh, me and hubby may workout together tomorrow night. I think I'm going to lift weights regardless, but he might jump on the elliptical. we'll see :) have a great day everyone!!! man, I wrote a lot!!! lol! |

good morning! I am so excited for today! I got up mega early... lol! I'm going to make pancakes for hubby and me :) If I have enough of the ingredients, ha-ha.. I may only make a half batch though, we'll see! does anyone watch so you think you can dance? I am really NOT happy about the results... not one bit. The girl that got voted off was my very favorite. :( I'm actually quite angry about the people that got voted off... BOO!!! aw... I'm watching the 100th episode and I'm tearing up watching the recap of the past five years! lol! Baby-sitting was very fun last night! The girls were really good for me. I got the little one to sleep pretty quickly. Makes me want babies ! and, I know it isn't bubbles and sunshine all the time, lol. but hubby and I aren't financially ready for babies anyway ;) My sis got home at 9 and kind of talked me into a jillian micheals workout.. so I did the first of the 30 day shred. Probably burned another 150 cals, so when I got home I had a few crackers and 2 beers to relaxi taxi a bit ;) So, my burned was 2350, consumed 1800. I'm happy with that! Today, I'm aiming for maintenance, aruond 2000 b/c it's going to be a busy day and all. I probably won't do much exercise. Not sure if I'll have time. If I have time before I start the pancakes, I'll be practicing my typing. agru - I'm in the NE, too! Where are you located? I'm up in OH. I heard the same thing.. My dad made a good call a year or so ago, it seems like the seasons are shifting.. I wouldn't be surprised if August and September were mega-hot. Yeah, I'm an admin. assistant. I answer phones and do random reports all day. Very boring. Even when I get out of school I'll still be super sedentary, lol. But at least I'll have more time to exercise more! sorry about the food being so spicy :( did you get to eat anything? snow - I am having so much fun :) such a great time right now! It's nice b/c I'm so happy with my hubby right now and some may say "honeymoon phase" but I think since we've been acting like this for a long time and we kind of eloped, didn't have to "plan" a wedding for a year, I think these feelings and actions are here to stay :) I'm sorry your bummed lately :( things will turn around for you :) karey - that is one of the things I do like about my job, weekends off, unless I want to go in Saturday. So do you work 6 days a week? Or do you get days off other than weekends? Yeah, I used to work out on the production floor with the same company, but I guess you could call it a promotion going in the office.. working on the production floor was pretty active though. ah well :) Good thing I like to exercise!! Our fav. Mexican restaurant is called Don Tequila. So amazing... Now we'll have to go there since we're talking about Mexican here! A hobby is a good idea! I'm the same way with projects. Right now I'm planning on making a scrapbook from our wedding using my bouquet (separated and pressed) as the cover, then putting in pics and cards from people... but we'll see if it actually happens. That stepping stone sounds really cool! Let me know how it turns out! And, I think you may have a hobby already, new toys!! lol!!! my day: no exercise today! a hunting we will go, a hunting we will go, hi-ho the dairy-o a hunting we will go!!! houses, that is ;) have a great day everyone!!! |

Wow... you honestly sound just like me! I know everyone says that about someone's post, but really... it's a little weird how similar we are! I'm 5'8" and 140 on a good day, 6/S (some stores 8/M), My heighest weight was probably 155, so I never had serious weight issues either. Also, I just got married 2 weeks ago to a wonderful man! Another similarity, I sit at a desk all day! creepy! I was in your shoes about 6 months ago... I wanted the perfect body. I wanted to be toned, I wanted to be sculpted. Now, I am not exactly sure what my lightbulb moment was, but now I'm not so concerned. I switched my focus from trying to be a supermodel (which wouldn't work anyways b/c I do not have the body shape for that) to just eating healthy and exercising regularly. Let me tell you, that was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! Granted, I still have work to do in the eating department b/c I tend to overeat on the weekends, but it's a work in progress and I am aware of my goals and know that I can acheive them. I just try to workout for 30 minutes every day, adding weight-lifting when I can, and eat to the best of my abilities. I like being soft :) I'm curvy, 36-28-40(!!) and I really do love it. It's fun checking myself out in the mirror, and it's quite sexy having some lady-like curves! Also, I realized if I ever did get to that fit, skinny look I was working so hard for, the amount of work I would have had to do to keep it up really would have sucked the fun out of life. lol! We're healthy, happy and sexy! Live it up girl! |

good morning! one week of elliptical is complete!! So happy!! Today was a little tougher getting out of bed since it's Friday.. but I did it! I'm babysitting tonight and I'm really excited about it. I love my nieces :) I may go swimming with my younger sister if I have time, but I'm not so sure that I will. If no swimming, I might walk to the park with the girls and wear them out there, lol. Tomorrow hubby and I are doing many fun things :) I'm getting my new driver's license with my new name, we're opening a joint checking account, and we're going on a house tour to drive by about 6 houses we like the looks of online! I'm really excited!! Sunday we're helping my friend's mom get a new mattress b/c hubby has a truck and she asked us to use it. Nothing else going on other than that, should be a great weekend! I have a feeling lunch will be at a bar tomorrow, but that's okay :) snow - yeah, it was a toughy! I did an easier workout today that wasn't so hard, but still a good workout. you're right, there are a lot of body-weight things you can do :) I am definitely not a normal light eater, not even in the slightest, lol! I think there is a tiny downtown area nearby that may have some stores... but we'll see :) I usually only guesstimate beer b/c it's higher cal and worse, lol. agru - I usually am on here before I clock in or on break :) not during so often. did you let them know your dietary needs? They could put some stuff off to the side for you before they add the spices, maybe... what a delicious sounding menu you had yesterday! minus the fiber supplements, lol! karey - no worries :) I had a small snack before bed and wound up around 1800 for the day. I had cheese and crackers.. just 3 :) but the cheese was pretty thick. The only thing is, I am VERY sedentary at work. I don't do any moving.. I figure with my bmr around 1400-1500, I probably only burn about an extra 300-400 a day just walking around randomly or doing normal everyday stuff.. so highest would be 1900 cals burned in a day, if that, add exercise, burn 2200, eat 1800, I only get a 400 cal defecit... which sucks. I don't have time to add more exercise, so I guess I'll just have to take it at that, lol. And the only reason I ate so little was b/c we are running out of food at the apt and I had class that night :) eating that little is definitely not a common occurence. I have to try hard to stay around 1700! lol! oh, and splurging on Mexican is NEVER a bad thing :) you always eat so healthy so it's obviously okay! my day: total - 1525... I like that number but I'll probably end up eating a little more. Like I said before, if I burn 2200 including exercise, that gives me a decent 675 cal defecit. good? I had better get to work! Talk to you all soon!! |

good morning friends! another workout done this morning :) I did a hard one, too... the resistance went up every two minutes and then back down every two minutes after it got to ten. There is even a little light for the goal rpms you should be doing and when the resistance was going up, it said I was going too slow!! the light bar kind of looks like this >>>>>O<<<<< so an arrow on the left lights up red, I think, if you're going too slow and an arrow on the right lights up yellow if you're going too fast... I haven't seen a yellow one in a long time, lol! Unfortunately I didn't add much to my day yesterday :( I just added a coffee, but I also didn't get chips with my sub... it's pretty rare that I eat so low-cal so I'm sure I'll be okay... one day isn't going to hurt, it's not like I eat 1300 cals a day with lots of exercise all the time. And, don't worry, I'll be having higher cals today :) Karey - The only thing that sucks about this mega-cute house is that it is out in the booney's... far away from everything, really... lol. So I think we'll really have to LOVE it to want it. yes, feeling good about my body is what matters :) hence the reason I'm not in any huge rush to drop pounds, lol! I just want my arms and legs to get a little smaller but since you can't spot reduce, I'll have to just try losing all over.. I think adding weights, when possible, will really help. Just with the house hunting, it's going to be tough. but I'll try :) I was going to lift tonight but now I have to run out to school (30 min away) to pick up a book I HAVE TO HAVE for an online class... which sucks... but I do really need it, lol. PB would have been a good call but we're running low and I was going to pack pb and j for lunch tomorrow, so I had to save it for that... I'm going to have to start buying the egg beaters.. Hubby is trying to eat healthier too :) He has been eating mac n' cheese occasionally for years and JUST read the nutrition facts last night.. let me tell you, he wasn't impressed, lol!! so he's giving that up immediately :) sounds like good choices at panera! nice job! pilgrim - yeah, you're right! hubby wants to really do some work, like drywall and flooring and such, so we're king of looking at houses that need some TLC.. he said as long as it's not electrical, the foundation, or septic, he could probably fix it up. so, that's good :) Yeah, we both love sea food and tend to keep it pretty healthy. Our only weak spot is fried calamari, lol. a chocolate bar??!!! sign me up!! you can do this with the food, it's all trial and error.. I don't really count too much any more and yeah, I definitely overate at first when I stopped counting. Maybe instead of not counting all together, pick one day during the week to not count.. not with intention of overeating, just to get the hang of it. :) agru - sorry it's so stinky at work for you :( I do really like the programs, it makes it easier to do the workout in the morning b/c I don't have to think, just move, lol! snow- yep, just one! And there are still two left! You know what I'm waiting for though, ice cream :) I may buy some vanilla b/c I just saw a killer recipe for an iced mocha that I would like to make! I'll probably only start losing when I stop drinking beer, lol! I'm going to take it easy this weekend... I'm thinking about getting vodka to last for a few weeks... we'll see... I like to drink but am losing interest in partying every weekend... panera is very delicious :) me and hubby end up spending like $20-$25 on our meal though b/c he gets a full salad and a full sandwich... lol.. growing boy ;) my day total - 1535... without chips.. not too shabby :) big dinner planned, still trying to clean up camping leftovers... I might nix the beer though, we'll see what kind of a day I have a work, lol! have a great maintaining day today!! |

good morning! another day on the elliptical is complete! I think next week, maybe, I'll start adding my weights back in 3 nights a week. That is, if I have time. Me and hubby are going to start packing up the apt since the lease is up at the end of August. Hopefully we can stay somewhere for a few weeks if need be till we get a house :) We found another one we're going to drive by Thursday. It's really cute and pretty much what we were looking for, plus some! 1800 sf house with a porch, 3 bed, 2.5 bath, 4 wooded acres, and a 3000 sf garage!! All for $115,000! The real estate websites say this is a short sale, so maybe we could even ask for it for less :) It looks like the only work that needs to be done is repainting some rooms and updating flooring. But that can wait... Also, it is really close to the lake and has a great looking park nearby. we're kind of excited about this one!! oh, got on the scale this morning, weight is 145 which is kind of what I was expecting. I had potato soup and crackers last night so I'm SURE I'm retaining water, plus getting back into exercise this week doesn't help that issue. I'm not too worried though :) I feel good about my body! pilgrim - yeah, we are definitely enjoying taking all this in! Just the thought of going from a tiny 1-bedroom apartment to a 3-bedroom house is so exciting!! nice job with the weigh-in! also, nice job on avoiding snacking! I am dvr'ing Good Eats and am very happy about that :) this morning I learned how to sear sea scallops! I love sea scallops, I just never knew the best way to cook them! agru - I usually end up around 1800 at the end of the day b/c I do treat myself, lol. Yesterday I added a light beer to my daily total, the day before, a brownie :) I'm still trying to stay around 1600 but it never works out quite that well, lol. My elliptical workouts are 30 min. Plus, the workouts I do are built-in programs on my elliptical so it automatically changes the resistance every few minutes, I'm a big fan :) karey - thanks! it is finally getting easier, I think!! The neighborhood is pretty nice, the only thing we really didn't like is the small lot. We have nowhere to add-on, not even for a garden and we both really want to grow our own veggies and stuff. I think the lot was only .2 acres or something. but there are a lot out there for us to look at so we'll keep plugging along! The only plus about that house was that it was close to his parents, which would have been really nice. good choice on the protein powder! Companies are really sneaky about all that bad stuff.. It's pretty annoying!! my day: total - 1290. WOW. I'll definitely need to add to that... maybe I'll get an italian sub instead... add some meat, lol... or, maybe I'll have a brownie after class :) that'd take me to about 1490... suggestions? ps, we don't have any food at home and we're trying to not spend money in prep for the home loan stuff... have a great day everyone! |

good morning! how is everyone?! I got up and did my elliptical workout this morning! My day ended closer to 1800 yesterday b/c I had a brownie after class ;) I'll have to start taking a piece of fruit with me to school so I'm not so hungry when I get home. Not a big deal though. I'm not really sure what I weigh. I'm going to keep working out the rest of this week and maybe weigh sometime next week. I'm sure I'll be embarrassed if I get on the scale now... I feel pretty good though, so it's not too big of a deal, I'd just like to be at least under 145. Damn.. I just realized I forgot my giant nalgene water bottle :( more trips for refills today b/c that thing is 64 oz and I only have a 20 oz bottle as back-up.. bummer. Oh well. I'm having a kind of crummy start to the week... it'll get better though! Hubby went and checked out a house yesterday. He said it needs a lot of work but for $70,000 it may just be worth it. I guess we'll have to wait and see :) We're definitely not done looking we'll probably visit more houses later this week. snow - glad to see you're enjoying your new toy(s)!! pilgrim - thanks! good idea with the lettuce wraps. I think I'll make some tuna salad to wrap up, yum! k9 - nice job with the workouts! and that looks like some really solid protein powder you got! what kind is it? morton - sounds like you had a great meal! it also sounds like you have everything well balanced :) good job! my day today: so, about 1500 cals today. not too shabby! still trying to drop just a little... slowly but surely :) have a great day everyone!! |

good morning! the lake house was a lot of fun :) nothing crazy, very relaxing. We drank beer, ate great food, went fishing and hiking. We rented a pontoon boat on Saturday and that was pretty cool. We didn't catch anything, really, but we had a good time. I actually woke up and did my elliptical workout this morning!! So happy about that! I start class again tonight so that should be interesting to get back into the swing of that... I had a 2-week break! Back to business now :) gotta graduate.. hopefully by the end of the year. That's my ultimate goal. I'm so close!! Sorry, I'm not going to respond to everyone only b/c I missed out on a lot. Sounds like everyone is doing really well!! my day - I think this rounds out to about 1600 which isn't bad with my 300 cal workout today. I'll talk to you all later :) keep up the great work!! |

good morning! day 2 of elliptical is done! Ready for Monday to start it up again :) Going on a mini-vacay this weekend to a lake house about 2 hours south of us. Pretty excited! Hubby and I are going with our best friends and his best friend is bringing his son, my best friend is bringing her brother. It should be a really great, relaxing time! I am ready! My wedding band fits well. Still a little bit tight but it's okay. It comes off pretty easy, don't have to fight it. Wouldn't mind a half size bigger, but I don't want to send it back again... Maybe when we start having babies I can pretend like that's the reason I want it to be bigger!! I'm picking up his ring tonight. It wasn't ready yesterday. I wish he could go with me b/c he has three to choose from but he's 98% sure on the one he wants, I just feel weird going to pick it up without him. But he really wants it and has to work, so I'll just have to get it for him :) pilgrim - it's always good to let loose a little! I didn't stuff myself at dinner last night, but definitely ate more than usual. So delicious :) And now I have leftovers, too. Mmmm... That family reunion sounds like so much fun!!! Can I go??! I'm obviously kidding :) Those outdoor activities are my favorite! I started recording Good Eats with Alton Brown.. I really like that show.. I love that he explains the science behind everything... good call on the food network :) Karey - Whale wars is so sad though! I think I saw it once and almost cried... Maybe I'll try Hell's Kitchen. I might start recoding Glee when it comes out too. Looks kind of funny but the husband thinks it looks stupid; men! Aw, thanks :) I wasn't trying to fish for compliments or anything, just wanted some opinions! I appreciate the kind words, we really are so happy!! day today: well, I won't be back on till Monday, so have a great weekend everyone!!!! stay healthy!!! |

good morning! I got up and got the elliptical in this morning :) I realized what my motivation is to get out of bed.. a good tv show I recorded! lol! There is nothing on in the mornings so right now I DVR "So you think you can dance" and watch segments of it in the morning. Hubby isn't a fan of those types of shows anyways so it all works out well :) I definitely need to get back into my exercise. I feel a little bigger but haven't gotten on the scale in a few days. I like going off how I feel. When I feel skinnier I'll check :) Just a half hour a day is all I need! I'm going to do elliptical in the mornings b/c it's easiest to drag myself to.. no setting up required, just step on, pick a program and go! There are like 6 different workouts on it that I like so it'll keep me busy, something different every day. anyone have any suggestions for good tv programs I can tape to watch in the morning? :) I have a pretty decent selection of channels, so just let me know your ideas! snow - thanks! we had a great time! glad your vacation was a blast :) Karey - It was very exciting! We're planning something bigger for next year, but we're going to focus more on that after we buy a house :) what'd you think of the pics? came out okay? my sister sent them to me so they aren't professional or anything, lol. but I think she did great! nice workout even though you aren't feeling so hot! Man, I can't eat oatmeal in the summer... makes me nauseous b/c of the heat... sounds good though! agru - I was super busy! Mostly tired though.. .phone calls, phone calls and more phone calls. lol! but it turned out great :) not a bad idea for your tofu salad.. I'm going to have to try that! pilgrim - WOW! shakes are probably the highest calorie snacks ever... lol. I haven't had a shake since I was a kid! that strawberry shortcake sounds amazing! I'd jump off the wagon for that :) nice job wanting to leave out preservatives. I try to do the same thing. it can be tough, but sometimes it's not too hard. my day today: have a great day everyone! oh, I'm also going to pick up our wedding bands today!! Due to the short planning, when we picked them up they were WAY too small! hopefully they fit!! I'm so excited!!! |

good morning! thank you all :) our wedding couldn't have been more perfect! We always knew we were in for the long haul and we really want to buy a house, with both of our names on everything. There were a lot of other home-buying benefits to getting married so we figured, what they hey, might as well just do it! So we did not resign our lease, which ends in August and wanted to really get into buying. So I called the one courthouse we could get married in and they were booked till about September!! They only do ceremonies on Mondays.... so that was out. What I did was look up the rules for getting married at a local park. No rules against it, so I contacted the local metroparks to let them know I was doing it, found a minister on craigslist, we got our wedding bands, took the Harley to one of our absolute favorite parks (squire's castle in willoughby OH, you should check it out :) ) and got hitched!!! about 50 of our family members and friends showed up (I wasn't expecting that many.. lol!) and his family brought cake, balloons and snacks and we got married on the steps of the castle at the park. It was fabulous! I'll try to post a picture later. Then we went to a local bar and celebrated with everyone! I loved it!!!! I never got an engagement ring, but I don't really care. He says a "promise" ring will come one day, but I have him, so what more do I really need?! Now onto buying a house!!! I PROMISE, MONDAY MORNING I WILL BE UP AT 545 TO GET ON MY ELLIPTICAL, 5X A WEEK! FOR ONLY 30 MIN!! I will feel so much more energized!! another reason I'm so tired this week.. I drank aaaaalllllllll weekend... that always drags me down the following week. So, I'm also going to not be drinking as much this weekend :) I'll be back with you guys soon :) ETA: I added pics so if you want to see them friend request me :) |

hi guys!! sorry I've been MIA. I haven't read any of the posts but just wanted to check in. Exercise has been less than stellar and my b/f and I kind of eloped Friday (HOORAY!!!) so now I'm married, lol, and we celebrated all weekend.. food, wine, beer, cookouts, cake, you name it! lol! It's easy for me to get back in the swing of eating healthy, now I just have to get my lazy-ass out of bed to exercise. I wasn't doing anything last week b/c I was planning our wedding, now I'm coming into work early so I can catch some stuff up but I am entirely too sleepy to get up even earlier to workout. Maybe my body is all out of whack b/c I've had a two-week break from school. Here I thought I was going to get all kinds of working out in! I guess not! ha-ha! well.. I'm going to get out of here. I hope everyone is doing well!!!!! Talk to you all very soon :) |

do you mean actual explosion? Or it just overflows? I used to make oatmeal that would overflow out of the bowl and make a gross mess in the microwave. I had a simple solution... I started using a deeper bowl! Then it would creep up the sides of the bowl, just not go over. not sure if this helps :) |

hi guys! sorry I haven't been a while... I kind of have a lot going on right now in my life! but I'll be back soon :) eating is really great, been slacking on exercise and even though I have a break from school, I'm still mega-busy... wtf?! lol! weight is under 144 on a Tuesday and that's pretty cool :) Still probably dropping water weight from the 4th and the hangover-day after, lol. well, I gotta get back to work, talk to you all later! keep up the great work!! |

good morning :) weight is 143.6 and that really isn't too shabby since I was eating popcorn and drinking a few beers last night after class! Stayed up watching "Blood Diamonds"; good movie! no workout this morning b/c I didn't get to bed till 11. I have the day off tomorrow so I'll be lifting tomorrow. :) Chris - I definitely keep a good balance of healthy and unhealthy, lol. Usually unhealthy comes on the weekends, healthy all week. pilgrim - we definitely appreciate your input :) glad you're going to stick around! Karey - I am definitely sleeping better and it has gotten TONS easier for me to wake up and workout :) so that's exciting! I have a 3-day weekend so it may be rough come Monday, but I also have a break from school for two weeks. So, wost-case scenario I'll workout at night for a week or so :) I'm glad you had a good time with the in-laws!!! least favorite exercise - running... without a doubt. I hate it. I'm heavier up top so it's pretty hard to get a support system for that and I just don't like it. It's boring to me. I will ONLY jog in a park anymore. More to see :) favorite exercise - biking, hiking, roller blading, swimming, lifting weights, walking, elliptical while watching TV... pretty much anything but running ;) unless it's from a bear... LOL!! woah.. ttom out of left field. ah well. lol! no symptoms at all so that's kind of nice. my day: so... 1490 for the day? Not bad.. if it stops raining we'll be swimming so that'll probably burn about 200 cals. I'd be happy with that :) |

good morning :) dropped again to 142.8... so that's good! I got my exercise in this morning, elliptical. I did get some extra snacks in last night, an extra handful of pretzels and a small handful of trail mix. So it all worked out well! Chris - yep, gotta keep the body guessing ;) Thursday I'm going for a bike ride and swim with my sister so I'm really excited about that! Saturday I won't have time to do anything but Sunday I'm going to plan on jogging in the park. I haven't done that in a long time! It's usually a 5-mile trip so that should be nice. isn't it funny how so many companies are advertising "healthier" options?? I was reading that some type of cracker had a label that said 33% less saturated fat than the regular... welll, there's only 3 grams of sat fat in the regular, so the "reduced fat" still has 2 grams of sat fat! lol!! so ridiculous... countdown for vacation!! so exciting!!! agru - I love storms too :) as far as weights, you are supposed to use as heavy as you can lift, I think being able to lift it to the point of exhaustion at least 6 times, 3 sets. So, if you can lift your ten lb weights 6 times, and cannot imagine pushing out a 7th, you're good :) if you can pump out 10-15 reps without a problem, move up a weight set to 12's or 15's. I lift for about 30 minutes and I just say 100 cals burned. Weight lifting doesn't burn a lot during the activity, but your muscles burn much, much more throughout the day. sealion - I'm glad to hear the exam went well!! NYC sounds like a great way to RELAAAAAXXXXX! ;) and that's awesome that you could let loose so much, must have been so much fun!! pretty funny story about your forgotten race.. good thing it was the best time ever, I don't know how you did that with a hangover! Now I really have no excuse for not wanting to jog 5 miles this Sunday :) sounds like you are doing incredibly awesome! CONGRATS!!! pilgrim - don't leave!!!!! I don't think anyone cares :) I don't even thing there is another maintenance-type group that is this supportive :) so, stay! we like having you around! sounds like you had a nice long walk! how wonderful :) I'm very much looking forward to backpacking for a week. We already have all the stuff we need (except food) so now we need to get all of the pre-stuff out of the way. lol!! Paula Dean is the worst though... The amount of butter she uses is slightly nauseating!! here's my day: so... 1485? I'll probably snack a little later today. I do have a granola bar so if we pretend I'm eating that, it adds 100 cals to the mix. not too shabby :) have a great day everyone!! |
