It has been a long time since I have posted here.

Just wanted to check in to see how everyone was doing.

I am down to into the 280's & been at a standstill for the past 6 weeks or so, mainly because of my own doing & some health issues.   I will be fine & I WILL get back into the groove!!

Seems there is a lot of progress around this place!

I wanted to wish you ALL a very Merry Christmas & may all your dreams & wishes come true in the New Year!

Yeah...I drank my water yesterday!  Thanks MOLLY for the reminder!!!  I like putting in a green tea mix to change it around.   I think you are Molly McVeggie!!!  Your idea with the turkey sandwich sounded incredibly yum!  Thanks for the tip.

Ok...just a WARNING...THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG POST filled with a lot of stuff....so on to answering some posts & offering some help where I can....

First of all, THANK YOU so much for the pats on the back on my successes so far on this journey!  I sooo appreciate it!!! 

Then I would like to give a HUGE welcome to all the new members of this thread!!!  It is so nice to have something in common with people who actually are willing to deal with this issue with FOOD!  We WILL do this together!!

I have noticed that many people ask the question about getting/staying MOTIVATED.  My way of getting & staying motivated was actually thinking of my life...what am I doing...where am I going...am I just going to let things keep going in the WRONG direction...who is going to change this....???  YThe answer is me.  I have written more about this in my journal...you can read it there instead of me posting it here...

I really liked the joke mathwiz & i copied it & sent it to my e-mail friends!  TY for the laugh!! 

I love the goals idea!  I think everyone should make some realistic ones. 

I like how you put in your post count-it-07 about paying attention to your thoughts.  It is sooo essential to be POSITIVE even when it is hard.  Most of us tend to be emotional eaters.  Sad but true.   Then I seen your post about tootsie rolls & I being diabetic cant even remember the last time I ate REAL candy!  I feel you friend!  Your thoughts got the best of you.  I am glad you recognize that. 

go4gold my OFFICIAL weight in day is Monday's because I feel if I screw up on a weekend, I should be accountable!  In previous attempts to lose weight I used to weigh in on Friday..lose a few pounds & then screw it up on the weekend because I was sooo happy!  See above reference about EMOTIONAL EATING! 

As far as a challenge for the week... I LOVE THE WATER CHALLENGE!!  I read that you are supposed to drink half your current weight in water/liquid each day!  YIKES!  I tried it & did it for 2 days.  It I lost 6 pounds that week, but I don't know if it was because of the water thing or my actually moving my a$$!  LoL!!

I am so sorry to read when someone is having a bad day like you were yesterday Jerri.  I would give you a HUG & just tell you to take some breaths!

And go4gold when you said about the scale not moving...I know my time will come for that.  I am afraid of it because I do not want to give in to the defeat I will feel.  But I KNOW that I have to take it a day at a time.

mollymoouser you ALWAYS make me smile with your posts!  I just recently found your RANTS thread & I have to find time to get over there again.  I am not a huge veggie fan but I am learning.  They bore me so I am learning to be more creative.  I mean I have to eat them!!  I recently made a delicious tomato, eggplant, onion, zucchini sidedish.  Basically all roasted in the oven with a little olive oil & garlic throw in their.  I can give the recipe to anyone who wants it.  Just let me know!  Your raspberry treat sounded mouthwatering!  Thanks to you...I WILL drink my water this week!!! 

As far as fiber goes...I am using Sugar Free Benefiber!  It is awesome!  Not gross at all.  It actually dissolves in yogurt or in OJ!  It is tasteless too!  Oh thank you creators of Benefiber!  LoL!!

ajjciir (amy) after you start canning that applesauce & those yummy veggies, you will have to put some on e-bay & sell them to those of us who are too silly to do it!  I will be the one in the middle of winter saying I MISS MY JERSEY TOMATOES!  WAHHHH!!!  LoL!!  I did just make 2 bushels of roasted peppers & stored them for the winter.  Gotta have my red roasted peppers in garlic! mmm mmm mmmmmm!!

On a side note...I did well on Weight Watchers the first time around 4 yrs ago.  Then I gave up.  Who knows why.  I was no where near a goal weight & just like that I got back into bad habits.  Now I am fat again!

Good morning gang!

Weigh in day for me & drumroll....  *** -7lbs ***

Two excellent weeks in a row!  I am on a roll!!  :-)  I know this will slow down soon & that will be fine, but for now I will take all the losses I get!

Josie, great going on the exercise!!  I also mow the lawn & though we don't have a huge lawn, I do the edging & clean-up so at least I am still moving!  I sweat, but I think it may have to do with the humidity too!  I mean I am drenched out there!  When I exercise on the treadmill inside, I just sweat normally.  Congrats to your LIONS!  My RAMS lost to the Panthers. 

Amy, 4 wheeling sounds like fun...I have never done that!  You continue to do so excellent on your weight loss!  Congrats to you!!

Matt, way to go on the 12 pounds GONE!      I bet you feel GREAT!!!

Hey!!  I got my first WOOT WOOT!!!  LoL!!   Thank you very much!!!

LOVE IT!!! 

Actually, I had dental surgery & was not able to eat solids for 10 days...that is what started me on this path...that was only 24 days ago...but since then...I have been eating better & MOVING more!!  No more couch potato me...unless I am reading or on the pc!! 

I am HIGHLY motivated right now & really want to stay that way!!   

Words of wisdom...I say one day at a time, one meal at a time... don't stress if the scale don't move...every day you do the "right" things, is a day closer to being the best you can be!  :-)

Hello everyone!

I am happy to have found this thread on the forum.

I have been Type II diabetic since 2001.

I take oral meds.

Since joining CC on 10 Aug 2007 I have lost 21 lbs

My sugar numbers have been EXCELLENT. 

Prior to getting on a program my sugar numbers were always in the 175-280 range & my A1C test last time was over 8.

I usually stayed away from sweets & BAD carbs like white bread, white rice, etc. but now I am being extra careful because I am SCARED out of my mind. 

I am also not much of a "mover".  I like to read & do PC stuff in my spare time.  Therefore I have been too sedentary.  But I have added some exercise a few times a week.

After just about 4 weeks here I am very pleased with my progress & the main fact that my sugar numbers when I test at home are so excellent!  I have had reading never higher than 110!  It amazes me, really!

I would be happy to keep in touch with others who have Diabetes...perhaps we can motivate each other & share food diaries.

Good luck with your healthy lifestyle!!!

I JUST POWERWASHED THE SIDING...on the whole house!!  LoL!! 

I am out of control with this new "toy"!! I must have been out there for 3 hours!  I just can't stop!  I only was going to do one part of the house which was turning "green" but I could not stop!  It was so much fun!  I wonder how many calories that counts for?!  LoL!

Sorry for not posting much this past week, I had an extremely busy time...but I have been reading the forum & I welcome all the new people & give a big shout out to my existing "loser" friends on this forum! 

My weigh in this moring was a real motivator....

mollymouser:   welcome to the site!  just weigh in once per week on the day of your choice.  we all have different days.  your meal plan looks good to me of how you are spreading out your times...being diabetic that is important for blood sugar levels.   I think depending on when you are exercising then you may need to adjust the foods you eat before & after.  You know how your body reacts best. 

simar:  GREAT weight loss...you are back in the driver's seat again!!  whooo hoo!!

andrey:  best of luck on your first weigh in...usually 1st week is a larger loss..but everyone if different.  It is encouraging with any amount that scale goes down!

I wanted to mention that I was reading on another forum that there are recommendations to drinking water.  It said that you should drink 1/2 of your body weight in liquids each day not just that 8-10 glasses.  

Sooooooo....I did just that today!  I drank 150oz of liquids. (some in the form of water & some in the form of cold green tea drink mix)  My God, I have never been to the restroom so many times!!  LoL!!  Not only that...it kinda filled me up when I drank before I ate my meals!  I am gonna see how many days I can deal with this...hopefully it will help to clean me out too!  ;-)

I am taking things a meal at a time, a day at a time!  This is all I can do to make it work in my head until it becomes second nature.

I hate the part about being a slave to the scale but I must say I can hardly wait to get on it on Monday!  I know my jeans fit better, but I NEED to see the numbers.  How silly am I?  LoL!!

Your words sound so great this evening!  Maybe it is the weight loss (EXCELLENT!!) or perhaps realizing that having some friends here who care about you & really DO understand is a comfort!  :-)

Don't stress about that birthday dinner!  Celebrate & most of all HAVE FUN!!!  This is life.  One day at a time.  Bad with the good. Ups & downs!
