Foods How to measure frozen foods? Nov 20 2007

^^ i think they misread the question. :\

personally, since i had this same question a few weeks back, for things like mixed vegetables I cook them first, then measure, if im using a scale.

whether that's completely necessary or not is beyond me, its just what i do to be sure.

Foods Which Do You Prefer: Sugar Free Maple Syrup or Sugar Free Fruit Flavor Preserve???? Nov 07 2007

I've been addicted to S.F. fruit preserves (polaner has good ones. apricot and strawberry) and i dont think they have any kind of diet aftertaste. i dont ever eat syrup anymore so i couldn't help ya there...

also, i like f.f. strawberry cream cheese, although i bet it wouldn't have as much flavor as full fat cream cheese, it isn't bad. i dont think cooking with f.f. cream cheese is a good idea (unless the recipe specifically says so) cuz without the fat, stuff usually won't hold up as well...(thinking of desserts)

Bad? why is it bad? its a hot soup craving in the cold winter, like people preferring oatmeal in the winter. (i like it year-round)..a lot of people prefer to broths in soups to the noodles/vegetables/etc. or cream-of soups.

the other day i had a craving for cottage cheese, eventhough ive never had it in my life. :\

I've been hearing about that for months, and it does seem to make sense, since plateaus (usually) happen when your body adjusts to whatever your doing to lose weight.

oh man, im right with you on this one. i haven't been big on junk food for years, but im crazy about those energy bars. one night i went through about nine. (i had been trying to break a plateau, and although the time was over, it was harder for me snap back).

and with all the fiber those bars had (none had less than 5g) you can believe my stomach was torn up. so i decided to journal about why i ate them, how sick they made me feel, that type of thing. the most bars ive had in one day since then is 2.

but, i guess you could buy one at a time, but that would get annoying, i'd think

well the sparkling water says on the front  "CALORIE AND CAFFEINE FREE" (sugar free, sodium free).

But is it really zero calorie, is what i mean.  the back label says zero cals per 8fl oz, and its a 1 liter bottle.

http://www.newstarget.com/007024.html

I don't kno that i would put too much stock in that, for the cancer part of it. theres always some new study alleging this to be the cause of that...

but for the overeall health aspect of it, i avoid most lunch meats entirely, aside from when i go to subway.

buuuutttt, i could be wrong.....:O
Foods Going to the movies...Help? Nov 03 2007

true, there's no rule to eat during a movie. but its just sort of a habit a lot of society has picked up...like deep frying everything in sight and creating things nobody really needs.

(sporks?!)

but on the same hand, it might no even be a good idea to eat during a movie. you are more distracted by whats goin on so it would be easy to eat mindlessly, i guess
Foods special K challenge. Nov 03 2007

i remember that getting hyped about. its possible that you can lose weight on that, but not always exactly 2 pants sizes.

and although i used to be addicted to special k with red berries (stopped eating dry cereal though), theres nothing in it that will really help your weight loss, they're just banking on the likelihood of you eating less calories daily then you would normally.

im one of the few people who would love that plan...special k was a drug for me...but i switched to hot cereal, because of the larger servings for the same amount of cals (usually)

when i go to the movies and know that i'lll NEED to have somethin that is junk food (this only happened once, other then that i just chew gum) i usually bring a couple blow popsjust in case, as an alternative to the huge box of fruity-skittles i got as a kid.

they last a while, and after the second pop you can chomp on the gum till the movies over. and they'r about 60 cals each i think

i admire you guys for making such a positive change in your lives, and it is possible!  i used to eat junk food non stop, all day, a few years ago. crazy about doritos and hot sauce, the little debbie strawberry shortcake rolls,  or pb&j with lays , or fried catfish and steak fries(ok the last part isn't junk food but you get the idea)

now i never have any temptation to eat/binge on those things. i haven't had doritos or chips or fried food in months :-) i never say anything, but im almost disgusted at how quickly my friends down those otis im-such-a-heffer-one-of-my-food-items-can-be- two-to-three-servings spunkmeyer muffins.

sad/wierd part: now im crazy about nutrition bars. thats what im working on lessening my intake of.

i only recently started adding sugar free preserves. its great:) the heat brings on this sweetness. my favorite combo is BananaBread Oatmeal and S.F. Strawberry preserves...but then i like everything with strawberry preserves..hell i could eat it out of the jar. only 210 cals...
