BEB - kEEP BUSY AND FOCUS ON THE GOOD THINGS... YES, EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON, EVEN THOUGH SOMETIMES I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT REASON IS. KEEP UP YOUR GOOD SPIRITS....EAT WELL AND GET OUT FOR SOME EXERCISE TO CLEAR YOUR HEAD. I HAVEN'T BEEN AS SUPPORTIVE AS I SHOULD OF BEEN TO ALL OF YOU, I WAS SO FOCUSED ON ME...I APOLOGIZE FOR THAT.
I HAVE DECIDED TO BE THERE FOR ALL OF YOU. THE FOCUS ON YOU IS LESS ON ME...AND THAT IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT OR SHOULD BE. HEALTH ISSUES, FAMILY ISSUES ARE ALWAYS THERE NO MATTER WHAT BUT HOW WE HANDLE THESE PRESSURES ARE THE CHALLENGES WE FACE EVEY DAY. SO TAKE CARE MY FRIEND AND LIVE ONE HOUR, DAY, MONTH , YEAR AT A TIME. GOD BLESS. |

thanks. today is a much better day, maybe new meds kicked in. also still on specific carbohydrate diet. today I did re-introduce a timy bit of milk for my coffee. we shall see tommorrow if I can tolerate milk. I will use a bit more tommorrow. If I have a bad day. I will try lacaid. and see. It is now almost 4 30 p.m. and still ok so I will see. that is why it is best to see if meds work first and then try diet or vice versa. I did it wrong but when you are in pain you do it all!!!!!
Have a good day ladies. |

Bonton71- thanks , yes a blessing
Just wanted to update everyone on my condition. Though I soud optimistic and my attitude seems godly, I need all of your support. My weight at this moment is on the back burner, my health on the other hand is what faces me every day when I wake up. I have the misfortune of being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis AND being fat. Usually this disease eats you up so you understand my dilema. I am 30 pounds overweight. Today I weigh in at 185 (my scale) until I go to the dr on JUne 26 and then its their scale. lol Anyway, just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that I NEED all of your help and support. Mornings like this shouldn't happen.....the sun is shining, the birds are singing, my dog looks at me like I am his idle and I am helplessly on the throne (so to speak)in pain and discouraged. This moment my tears are getting in the way of my typing and I feel so alone and I AM NOT ALONE..... I had wonderful friends visit with us last nite and it was so good to look back on our lives, we have been friends for 35 years and my husband went to school with my best friend and knew her for a long time. And she lived on my block in my teens and didn't even know it. So I decided to type in a quote everyday whether it is related to me or not. Just to keep on top of it. Today's is:
Dogs have owners......... cats have staff.......................lol
Have a great day everyone...... |

robbie- I run a group home from my house for mentally challenged adults. I have been blessed to be part of their lives. They are so amazing..... doing this for 10 years and until the gov't decides the program doesn't work. I have a basement suite for them and each have their own room. I see their co-ordinator every month and get inspected every year. I love my job !!! thanks everyone is so nice here. I thank everyone for their kindness. |

thanks, I am in a muchbetter place tonight. Guess what I had for snack? A piping hot bowel of peas and carrots with parmasan cheese and 1 tsp butter, yes butter. and I had a cup of fresh blueberries. I am full......life is good.
Its when I am hungry that life sucks and isn't it so for so many people in the world?
I am lucky to be able to go to the fridge and choose what I can eat when so many are eating what they can.
I am blessed with caring people from friends and family and "you guys" from all over the world................nite nite
p.s I went to see my little granddaughter tonight and I am so humbled...... |

thanks all prayers accepted. I have been on this once before. It is not bad because if you eat anything else you feel really bad. cramps, bloody d and feeling very weak. I t worked before for me hoping it will again. I make my own yogurt and have really a lot of veggies and some fruits and all the protein you need to feel full. I tried the nut flour pancakes delish with a dash of honey delish....no I think I will have to watch my intake of goodies because there are a lot of them.
anyway this disease is terrible. I thought that once I was in my 50's this could not happen But guess what.... I am in the percentage that it does. so I must live well and take care of myself better than ever. weight has nothing to do with it........right now concentrating on living well.....good luck to all of you |

BEB - yes cilantro and coirander are the same. Yes, it happens to be a trend. Everyone has so much on their minds. Same with me, except I tend to keep it to myself and this is good to see others vent and tell someone. I need to do this more. After all even if no one reads the posts, writing is good therapy. Sometimes , like now even my best friend is having health issues and I don't want to dump mine on her. I am on track and ex on Monday. But Monday nite helped my son move and also Tues nite and was too tired tues or today to do any formal ex. I think moving and cleaning for 3 or 4 hours is ex. Do you think? I live in Alberta, not Vancouver. I am not feeling my best my colitis is back and it makes me feel tired and with all the activity in the evening, my days are quiet. I just do my own thing like everyday light housekeeping. I still have my housekeeper every 2 weeks and I will not give her up. she has been my lifesaver. I still run my grouphome with mentally challenged `clients and need to put my energy into that and not cleaning. I have kept to my eating regimen with 24 points and 35 flex. so far used only 5 flex for the week. this is good for me, I usally blow all of them in one or two sittings.
My day today looks like this: bf-milk/cereal/fruit=5 snk- 1 slice cheese/2 crackers=2 lunch= boiled egg/salad w/dressing/raisins 1 T./nuts 1T./toast=6 pts dinner- salmon patty/potatoe wedges/broccoli with olive oil =8 snk-fruit/milk/popcorn=3 Total for the day=24 Have a good day all and good luck with all your challenges.....
P.S. tried the low fat banana muffins on this site-awesome and only 1 pt each |

BEB- I see what you mean. I thought that whenever I was on my journal my friends could see it. I guess I have to come here. I had a terrific if not relaxing week. My new granddaughter is a marvel to me. But I am so tired and like I said before (I wasn't the one having the baby). to be young again !!! Anyway I like to keep focused and focused I am. I will be back on track this week. My daughter in law is having her mom for the week. It gives me the opportunity to get caught up with the house and to exercise. I will still pop in to see baby but not to really help out. I am ok with this, believe me.....lol My son took last week off to help her and get the 26 months old little boy kinda settled. It was very cute when he said that "he was done" he meant we could bring the baby back to the hospital. He is in for a real awakening...literally It is almost 10 p.m. in Alberta and I am pretty much spent. good night ladies and have a great week...I think I will check in 2 times per day. I need to really get caught up in cleaning, groc shopping and laundry, always laundry lol

sinabear- I think for maintenance you give yourself 200 extra calories per day I believe for 1 week if that stops your weightloss then you know thats the calorie level for you. I f you still lose increase in 50 calories more per day until you do. this is if you continue doing whatever your doing evryday. Ex as usual no more or no less for a more accurate calorie level. Everyone is different but I think you start at 10 x (your weight) e.g 125 x 10 = 1250 calories and add 200 for amintenance giving you 1450 per day. That is decent for 125 pounds. good luck.... how do i know this. I used to be 125 a long long time ago lol |

Had a tiring saturday. we did all yard work plus had 12 people for bbq. I am beat, so I have to be careful with eating today,. My worst fear is being overly tired where I don'tgive a darn about what I put into my mouth. HowI deal with today will be enlightening. I plan to rest, rest, rest and maybe sleep and read. Let everyone know how I did tommorrow. also, my daughter in law is having her baby tommorrow too.............so if I don't check in it will be because of that and not because I fell off the wagon today lol.
My day in points: milk 2/toast 1/sf jam/0 yogurt 2/cereal 2 hash browns/egg/orange 6 milk 2 pork sausage/zucchini stewed/bun 8 grapes 1 c 1 Total 24 Lots of water and maybe crystal lite iced tea Lots of willpower. lol |

For me at my weight it is 24 points per day plus 35 points to use throughtout the week as you choose. You can use them up all at once or distribute them as you choose. I like it a lot. I hope now it turns out to be the colour i choose. you guys have me worried now. It will have black fancy handles and the glass will be etched with a black like patina. I think I will take pictures when it is finished. |

good for you. I try to incorporate a sweet thing every day also. But I have had my share this wekend and so trying(lol) to lay off till Sat. those sheet cakes are all sugar and NOT good for you at all.... saying this to myself as well as you. When I buy a cake which is not too often for a celebration. I try to get an angel food cake as well. In this months weight watchers magazine is a nice piece of angel food cake with greek yogurt and fresh berries. It looks good. I also am indulgent at times( an understatement) and buy individual cheesecakes for 130 calories. My older chicldren and the wives really appreciated it since I make tradional Italian food when they come over, my grandchildren though looked at me kinda weird (since the portion are remarkably small but very rich I might add)I serve the cheesecake on a clear plate and dust with icing sugar and then I pureed the raspberries and made swirls. It looked decandent. Serve with cappuccini. really good....Easy too.....I look for easy and good and fast. like my DH (lol) he will never see this post .lol |
