The second semester my freshman year I volunteered at this afterschool program for inner-city kids and in order to get there I would have to take the bus fifteen blocks, and then walk a few blocks through a not-so-great neighborhood.

well anyway....one day when I was walking to the 'neighborhood house' this guy behind me started singing *really* loudly sing the 'new miss booty' song to me....more specifically the part that goes: "booty booty booty rockin every where...rockin every where...I foooouuund you new ' Miss Booty'"

now looking back it makes me laugh...but at the time I was more creeped out than anything lol >_<
The Lounge Gay Marriage Oct 29 2007

Found this on a website...pretty much sums up my views on the situation =)

Top 16 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong

16. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

15. There are plenty of straight families looking to adopt, and every unwanted child already has a loving family. This is why foster care does not exist.

14. Conservatives know best how to create strong families. That is why it is not true that Texas and Mississippi have the highest teen birthrates, and Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire have the lowest. This is a myth spread by the liberal media.

13. Marriage is a religious institution, defined by churches. This is why atheists do not marry.

12. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why our society has no single parents.

11. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

10. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

9. Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

8. Gay marriage should be decided by the people and their elected representatives, not the courts. The framers checked the courts, which represent mainstream public opinion, with legislatures created to protect the rights of minorities from the tyranny of the majority. Interference by courts in this matter is inappropriate, just as it has been every time the courts have tried to hold back legislatures pushing for civil rights.

7. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because "separate but equal" institutions are a good way to satisfy the demands of uppity minority groups.

5. Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

4. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

3. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

2. Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

As a what some may call...an over obssesive HP freak....Dumbledore being gay doesn't change anything for me...what I wonder though...is whether or not his sexuality was just an after thought.  As far as I can remember her character development of Dumblerdore never once pointed towards him being gay.  And JKR is a great writer and I wouldn't think she would over look something like that if it was indeed something she intended.

Oh darn...I'll have to read all the books over again to see if I missed any hidden cues haha

someone earlier mentioned how women are judged more for sexual activity than guys...and these days I don't personally see that as being true.  In my high school, and now in college guys who have been with multiple girls are looked down upon just as much as the girl.

For instance, my friend...we'll call him Bill, is 20 and since losing his virginity at 18 has been with easily 15 girls (it's probably more now).  I've tried setting him up with some nice girls because he says he's ready to change his ways, but every time the girl I'm trying to set Bill up with finds out his track record, she instantly gets turned off and ends things.

And it's not just girls, all of our guy friends have also told him he needs to keep it in his pants.

bornagain...you're comment about 'No one is willing to fairly see that there are two sides to this story' really caught my eye.

of course there is always two sides of any story, but when ever it comes to cheating the cheater is wrong and the person cheated on is the victim.

I only say that because cheating is the most cowardly thing a person can do.  It's basically saying I don't care enough about you, myself, or this relationship and am too much of a chicken shit to work it out or to end it.  If someone feels the need to cheat they should stand up and be a man (or woman because women cheat too) and END THE RELATIONSHIP not doing so and just going about cheating is a cowardly back handed way of dealing with an issue.

I suggest getting a second opinion.

For some reason my ovaries do not drop eggs at regular basis, I can go 4-5 months w/out my period.  My doctor put me on birth control because she said that even though i'm not dropping an egg my uterus is still building up tissue and all that built up tissue can increase my risk for cancer.

I co-sign with changeofheart.....Trent Reznor is amazing, and it goes without saying that I love NIN.  My boyfriend and I decided to name our first son Trent....I considered briefly naming him Trent Michael (because Trent Reznor's actual name is Michael Trent Reznor) but figured that was boarder line creepy/stalkerish....so we're just sticking with Trent.

Anyway, what do you guys think of the latest album?  It's way different than the other CD's, but that's part of the reason I like it so much.

I was "seeing" this guy for a couple weeks (we met in high school, hit it off but were never single at the same time...so FINALLY my freshman year in college we were both single, and finally went on a date........yeah....it didn't work....he sucks lol)

So me and this guy were seeing eachother, and even though the first date was rocky I thought I'd keep giving it a try, mean while, one of my guy friend's keeps telling me I should go on a date with his buddy (named Alex).  After telling my friend no FIVE nights in a row I gave in and decided to go on a date with his friend.

after one date with Alex I broke it off with the first guy and have been with my boyfriend for 2 years now =) (well...it'll be 2 years in a month)

rae is right, Bath and Body works has a lot of great products, but make sure you stay clear of anything with fragrance in it, my hands were chapped and bloody and one of the people who worked at Bath and Body gave me some lotion to try, I didn't realize it had fragrance, and after I put it on, my hands burned like a dickins...I had to sprint to the nearest sink to wash it off my hands haha.

patroleum jelly works well too.  My hands get like that in the winter, so like Step 2. says, I slather patroleum jelly on my hands, cover them with socks (mittens work also) and by the morning the jelly is soaked in and my hands are silky smooth =)

I don't believe it should be required...but on that note I think it would be nice for them to post the information on their website or have printed pamphlets.

I mean at the end of the day it is a privately owned business and we can choose to go there or not.
The Lounge Favourite Movie Quotes Sep 07 2007

"In the beginning, the Universe was created. This made a lot of people angry, and has been widely regarded as a bad idea."

"There's no point to any of this. It's all just a... a random lottery of meaningless tragedy and a series of near escapes. So I take pleasure in the details. You know... a quarter-pounder with cheese, those are good, the sky about ten minutes before it starts to rain, the moment where your laughter become a cackle... and I, I sit back and I smoke my Camel Straights and I ride my own melt. "

"What came first, the music or the misery?"

Well in your original post you said you think you look attractive...therefore I assert you are attractive =)....just like the other two posters have said...it's all about self-image/self-confidence.

And no, not all guys shun the chubby girls, in fact from what I've heard from my guy friends is that they like a litte 'cushion for the pushin' (sorry if that was inapropriate >_<).  My boyfriend actually likes that I'm a little chubby and always says he doesn't want me to lose too much weight.  I just always remind him that I'm doing this be be healthier, not to be stick thin.
