I was seeing a counselor in Ohio before I moved and we had discussed my eating issues. My college doesn't offer counseling services or I'd consider it, which is kind of why I ended up posting here. Thanks for your advice.

I have some pictures in my gallery. A year and a half and sixty pounds. Don't give up after just a week. Just remember that the time would pass no matter what, and you can spend it changing your life and being healthier and happier, or you can remain overweight. You can do it, just give it time and patience.

Sitting here trying to get my boobie tassles to consecutively twirl in opposite directions...it's a great exercise to bulk up my boobies while also toning them which in turn speeds up my metabolism and helps me burn an extra 8000 calories a day! I recommend boobie tassle HIIT, really swing those ta-ta's as fast as you can for 60 secs then casually swing them from side to side for 30 secs then repeat.

This is simply the greatest CC post ever.

I have eczema, too, and I just got home from a walk and took off my socks and noticed all my skin was peeling off, so I searched for this post because I remembered reading it. I put lotion on every night and pumice stones kind of freak me out (yes, it's kind of irrational) so I was thinking I should probably use gold bond powder. I have some from back when I used to work.

Also, definitely what karozel said about soaps. I can only use dove for sensitive skin or my skin gets wayyy too dried out. and lubriderm for lotion.

Anyhow, my socks aren't 100 percent cotton because I have this huge issue with losing one of my socks so I have no matches anymore (it's actually due to the fact I take them off in my sleep to scratch my eczema).

Anyhow, I don't like soaking mine either because water dries out my skin, too (seriously, I am so very sensitive to everything. I get rashes from my own tears.)

Fitness Concert Calories Jun 12 2009

I generally just consider concerts free days. Which might not be a good idea, but you're exercising so much by dancing and hardly having any time to eat, anyway, and are pretty much starving afterwards.

And yeah, I logged a concert today. I put it as high impact aerobics (4 hours of straight dancing, headbanging, jumping and running around). It was NIN and Jane's Addiction. :D

Weight Loss Weight Misconseptions May 13 2009

I noticed this because the kids I babysit eat really, really slow and we're generally on a tight schedule, so I started using smaller bowls to make sure I gave them less. Their parents and I both try to teach them to eat healthy. When they get home from school, they have fruit and vegetables and then I ask if they're still hungry. I actually had a conversation with them about calories, because they were like, "I thought calories were bad and make you gain weight?" and I explained how they give their bodies fuel.

My parents, well, my mom, had an issue with all of us being overweight because of the unhealthy food she cooked and how she tried to overcompensate for a lot of things my dad did with food. When she lived here, we ate so much processed junk, and now my dad's like, "OUTSIDE OF THE STORE ONLY, NO JUNK, GET REAL FOOD!"

and I totally agree about smaller spoons.

I really, really appreciate both the replies. I've felt like there was great support to be found here, but I wasn't yet fitting it on whatever.

My friends fit into those categories, too, except also a has an eating disorder and I don't want to trigger it or anything one, too.

I didn't mean to sound so sad, I was just feeling pretty lonely, I suppose.

lewiskimlc, I don't mind people not in high school. That sounds like a crazy though history and I know because I used to be over 200 and go shopping and end up crying and would wish to even be just 170.

Thanks for your replies!

I'm sixteen, five foot three., between 147 and 145 pounds. I don't exercise that much - a half hour walk everyday, but I do work two jobs, one fast food (on my feet all the time) and the other babysitting and clean my house. So, I guess I'd be low activity, so I burn about 2220 calories a day? So a five hundred calorie deficient a day would be like, 1700?

I normally just eat three meals and no snacks, too.

One day soon, in the mail, we should be getting foodstamps and insurance cards, which will help A LOT. I'll go see my doctor then and talk to him about it.

I guess my weight loss goal isn't really too possible? Maybe I should make it 125 by my birthday at the end of July?

I just really feel like I'm not going to be able to lose ANY weight or it'll take forever.

Well, ladies, if you are traditional thinkers, at least you have a larger pool of guys to choose from, since the shorter ones are more available to you. Smile

Yes! My boyfriend is only five feet and six inches while I'm a little over five feet three inches. (I too like to "say" five feet four inches.) I've never really had a preference. I just happen to have fallen for a tiny boy. (Oh, the day when I weigh less than him will eventually come!)

and I'm always like, OH, IF I WERE TWO INCHES TALLER, MY BMI WOULD BE FINE.

Weight Loss How many pounds did you lose before people noticed? Jan 22 2009

My grandma noticed after just five pounds. I went over her house, and she was like, "you're losing weight. Your face is thinner." It took thirty five pounds for my dad to notice. Most people noticed around twenty.

Right now, after being on a plateau for oh, 8 months, I've lost ten pounds, and my grandma and my boyfriend are the only ones to really notice. But I notice and feel gooood. I described every single difference to my boyfriend last night, haha.

The Lounge Does anyone here regret their tattoos? Jan 18 2009
01:52 (UTC)

I regret how I got mine. They were done in a hurry, didn't know how long it'd be before I got the chance to get tattoos again. I should have spoken up about the coyote being lower and smaller, but I was distracted by being nervous. I also wish I'd waited and let my boyfriend design it. I love them for the fact they're something that kept me sane, art of things that mean and have meant so much to me. I'm probably going to get the coyote fixed up, since it's just an outline. Plus, it looks a little more like a wolf. I'd thought about them both for a long time, but I didn't have the design finalized yet, for the coyote. My other is a bird on my chest. It looks kind of like a three year old's drawing, but that's exactly how I wanted it. It's off the cover of an album, except turned right side up and made alive. My boyfriend designed it too. Although he did say, had I known how serious you were, I would have worked harder on it. My coyote is because my boyfriend's native american and it's his spirit animal. Even though I might break up with him or even grow to hate him, I'll never regret it, because he's been a huge part of my life. I think if you can find meaning in it and know why you got it, there's no point in regretting it.

And I can't remember who posted it, but they said they sometimes see something and think, "wow, that'd make a cool back piece. too bad I already have one." which is why I'm skeptical of getting some in some places. I want a back piece eventually, but I want to have places for everything I want eventually.

We'll also see how they look when I lose more weight.

Also, I work at McDonald's and my one manager (ex-manager now) had a rather large tattoo on her neck. Mine are easily hidden. Chest and hip, although the chest sometimes peeks out. I just wear hoodies and zip them up all the way if it needs to be hidden (some of my relatives would probably freak out).

Motivation Not sure if I'll even keep up with this, but... Jan 17 2009
22:13 (UTC)

Yeah, I've had problems binging (mainly when it comes to pizza.) I try my best to just avoid pizza, because I have control issues with it. I generally try and tell myself, "Look, you have more control than this and know better."

I'm actually avoiding eating McDonald's all together because, well, I hate them for their ridiculous budget cuts and stupid scheduling and our corporate owner is absolutely awful, and I don't want to give them my money. Their fries smell so yummy, though, and those cookies. (I was, previously, with my discount, getting a side salad, apple dippers and then a desert like one cookie or a fudge sundae, no fudge.)

I actually don't like oatmeal, haha. I'm super picky. I've been eating cereal because it's quick, but apples and cottage cheese and eggs are all things I love. I also forgot to mention I don't eat meat and haven't for like four years.

The ability to drive and having money has also hindered me. I'll be like, YES, I CAN FOLLOW MY CRAVINGS AND DRIVE TO THE STORE AND BUY LOADS OF CHOCOLATE.

I'll look for fish oil supplements.

Thank you!

I've had a crush on Michael Stipe since I was 8 and first saw him in my big bros mag in 1986 (I still have it somewhere)

I've seen them live twice, got front and center both times... got winked at and waved at *sigh*

ps I'm 30 now!

I am ridiculously jealous of that.

I used to have almost all Harry Potter.

Right now, I have an autographed Bill Moseley from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (to a far out fan!), a little bit of Harry Potter, Jim Morrison, two Led Zeppelin, some dragons (d&d player), kittens, puppies, and a whole bunch of underground punk/folk punk I made myself (defiance ohio, ghost mice, johnny hobo). and I forgot the Against Me! poster. This all makes me sound just a little geeky.

I actually had stomach issues similiar to this. Doctors never could figure out the cause, but as soon as I started walking everyday and managed my stress, that helped A LOT. They seem a lot like the kind of things that used to make me sick, so the list doesn't seem random at all to me.

You should see a doctor about it, but if that's not the cause, do you have a lot of stress? Managing it by things that include exercise and a healthier diet should probably help.

Since about a year ago, I was home schooled. I do my classes online, as opposed to my parents teaching me. This is because the school I was going to had open enrollment, we moved, they basically assured me I could still go, and then said I couldn't because I have an IEP due to my lisp. (I know, this is crap.) I didn't want to go to school where I live because the system is pretty bad. I do have teachers, though, who I can call and email, so this is probably different from what most mean by home schooling.

Honestly, I think this is the best thing I've ever done. I'm much happier now. I get to spend much more time with my mom. I'm easily motivated to do my work, and I'm even working ahead. I'm not wasting time like I felt I did at public school. Also, as others said, in a way, you really avoid peer pressure and the rebellious teenage period. Of course, my parents were always about learning and exploring all the beliefs out there.  I went through what most kids go through and all that, and I really don't think I got anything from it except bad self-esteem and complete frustration.

I feel like I avoided a lot of petty things. As one person said, her one daughter picks her friends by who's popular. I'd never do that, but I avoid all those things like cliques, and it's nice really to not care about how you dress and just wear things you like. Also, as far as social awkwardness goes, I had that problem much more when I was in school. I have friends who come over a lot, too, and I'm a member of the teen advisory board at the library.

I don't think home schooling works for everyone. My brother does horribly at it. For me, it works incredibly well and I love it. I couldn't be happier.
