cc - I'm definitely with you on making health the #1 issue and not weight loss!  I do feel healthier when I am thinner, however, hehe  I recently read somewhere that its more dangerous for people to lose, gain, lose gain, then it is to just stay a steady weight.  The study showed people who yoyo have more health problems than overweight (not obese) who have maintained their weight over a lifetime.  hmm - another good reason for me to get to goal and stay there.

Oh - the pup is a 12 week old beagle.  He just won us over!  We recently lost one of our older dogs - she was 16 - and my younger daughter begged for the new pup.   Of course, I'm the one taking care of him -  :)

Well, chickened out again this morning - tomorrow, for sure will be the big day to weigh in.  I figured I'd give myself another day to eat right and hopefully I'll feel thinner tomorrow and the scale will be kind!  Next week's vacation is going to be another story - ugh!  I just have to keep telling myself, good health or that chocolate cupcake (yes they are still calling me from the kitchen)  I wish the kids would finish them off already!

Hi ladies!  Sorry I have been MIA - alot going on around here.  Next week we leave to take my daughter to college and in the meantime we've been crazy enough to add a new puppy to the household.  He's napping now, thank goodness, I finally got a chance to relax - hehe - just ate breakfast and haven't gone out for my run yet  - yikes.  It's like having a baby.

Haven't been on the scale since last time I posted - ugh.  I'm being good today and will check the damage tomorrow.  I'm hoping that I didn't gain anymore but I still can't get to my goal weight.  Just lost my motivation.  I am trying, really trying, but its sooo hard with all the temptations around.  Birthdays, anniversaries, family get togethers have been sabotaging my efforts!

Glad to see you guys are still alive and kickin - I'll post tomorrow with my update - Have a great day - think thin and healthy, of course!  I keep telling myself, if its not need, its greed!  I definitely do not need those leftover cupcakes!  SMILE :)

Good morning!  Well, finally built up the courage to jump on the scale and I'm 6 pounds from my goal weight...I went to bed starving last night so not too pleased with the results - yikes.  It's soooo easy to gain and sooo much work to lose.  That's why I've decided once and for all to take this extra baggage off and keep it off!  Wish me luck - hehe

If I can average 2 pounds a week, that should be 3 weeks to goal.  Portion control, like personaltraining says, is the key.  I can still have that blueberry pie, I just have to eat 1/2 of my dinner so I stay within my calorie allotment. 

We're supposed to have high temps today so need to get off this computer and get my run in before it gets too hot.  I haven't run any races in years.  Don't ask me what possessed me to start now, but I signed up for a 10K in September.  I think I'm just curious to see how fast/slow I've gotten over the years.  It is also giving me some motivation to get out and train (which also burns those calories - :)

Ohio - great news on your loss - the low energy could definitely be your sinus' - the heat too doesn't help either, I'm sure.

Hi ladies!

Well, another day that I was afraid to get on the scale - ugh - I did good yesterday, even had a deficit in my calories, but still feel bloated.   I'm planning on staying low on cals today and weighing in tomorrow to see what the real damage is from the weekend.  I'm hoping this new weight drops quickly!

cc - do you think you aren't eating enough during the day?  I've found that since I have a bigger breakfast these days, I'm not as big a snacker at night.  My husband, on the other hand, does great all day but then chows down in front of the tv at night.  He undoes all the starving he did earlier in the day.  Balancing out your calories I think works best. 

Ghadar - I love your idea of saving the sugary treats for the weekends.  That would definitely give me willpower during weekly cravings knowing I can always splurge on the weekend.  And, who knows, by the time the weekend rolls around you probably forgot all about that cake or ice cream or whatever - :)

Ohio - sorry to hear you were feeling under the weather - sinus problems really stink!  I blame the air conditioning - in and out of the hot and cold are what bother my sinus'

Hope everyone is enjoying their day - its beautiful here - keep thinking positive - we can be thin and healthy - YES, we can!!!

Hi all!  Scale still the same today - 6 pounds to goal -

I am getting back on track.  Yesterday I went over calories so I took my pup for a long walk and ended up with a deficit.   

Now I just need to survive Fourth of July weekend.  I'll be back down the shore and  we're invited to a cookout.  That means more unfriendly diet food.  I'm considering bringing a vegetable dish.  I found a recipe for a zucchini and tomato salad which I thought I could easily fill up on.  hmmm

Beautiful day today - sun shining, hot but what the heck, it is summer!  My daughter wants me to run with her this morning so I'm just waiting for her to wake up - aaah - the lazy hazy days of summer!   I hope she starts stirring soon as the later it gets the hotter it gets :)

Ohio - When I first moved, I panicked with the thought of having to find a hairdresser.   I started asking people with great hair where they get it done.  Surprisingly more than half went to the same salon.  Tada - I've been going there now for almost 8 years!
