| Good morning fellow purple members:)
I weighed in this morning and had lost 4 pounds since my starting weight which was taken right before ttom so I lost about 2 actual pounds and 2 pounds of bloat. I think the challenges are a great idea especially the water one. I find myself drinking lots of diet soda which is no good. Good luck to everyone on their weigh ins! Oh and as for meals on the go I like to toast whole grain flax waffles ( one or two depending on how many calories I want to use) and spread it with a tsp of natural pb.You can eat this cold and its not bad at all.HArd boiled eggs are also a good traveling choice just peel them before you take off. |

| I really think it is different for each person how they react to sugar. Personally I dont tolerate it very well even in the form of fruit, it just makes me hungrier than when I started.
Sugar also contributes to me binging.Lets face Im responsible for the binging but the sugar really isnt helping just makes me hungry for more and more.If I stay away from sugar I do not binge and my hunger level is much more even. Again this is just my experience so your milage may vary but I do not believe it is just a psychological issue. |

| I usually aim for 5 days a week for at least 40 minutes. Occasionally I will do 6 days depending on how I am feeling.I always take Sundays off from "official" exercise but will sometimes go on walks with my son or go on a bike ride with him on that day. I have a treadmill but I only use it every once in a while to do intervals on a high incline.I like to run but I find it doesnt do much for my weight loss efforts because I am famished at the end of my workout. I use to belong to a gym where I loved the weight machines but with my work and personal schedule it is just so much easier for me to exercise at home, this way it is harder for me to make excuses not to do it. Alot of people post that diet is the most important part of the weight loss effort and I really agree with that.Im trying to eat clean and its really helping my cravings and keeping my appetite in check.Sugar really wrecks havoc with me and I do much better without it. |

| I really like Good earth the original flavor so sweet and spicy. YUM!
I also drink Chai, peppermint ( for some reason it really calms me), and whatever else catches my eye in the store. Good Earth is my fave though ,I will crave it if I run out. I dont add anything to my tea |

| Hi,
I just got back and saw your message. Right now I am using 8lb weights but need to get some heavier ones. In 30 day shred it looks like they are using 3lb weights but she never gives a recommendation. In the biggest winner she recommends 3-20 lb weights, basically whatever you can handle. I am really no expert at what you should start with basically whatever is challenging for you and you may want to try a range for different exercises. The videos are nice because they are in 20 m inute segments so you can do one workout or you can. mix and match them according to your energy level and time constraints. And like I said theyt are very straightforward - jumping jacks, mountain climbers, etc no fancy footwork required. Some people do not like her style (there are a couple of other threads on her but I am not sure how to post links) but I really enjoy it. Let me know if you have any more questions- I am happy to help out |

| Hi, I would suggest trying Jullian Michaels workouts. She has a 30 day shred video which is good and a biggest winner dvd set which is a 5 disc set.I have tried the firm in the past and had the same problem you are having . Her routines are not dancey (sp) at all -very straightforward and a good workout. 30 day shred can be bought on Amazon or Ebay for about ten to twelve dollars. The biggest winner series can also be purchased there for about $25.00,You just need a set of challenging handweights the heavier the better.I am getting some fantastic results from these videos especially my tummy and I am a mom to so I know how that goes :) |

| Hi there . I have been in your shoes, I am assuming your pap came back abnormal. Please dont freak out. After an abnormal pap I went in for the other test and it came back fine.Same thing happened to another friend of mine abnormal pap but the other test showed she was just fine. And another friend (my best friend ) had this happen to here to except she did have precancerous cells and another procedure took care of them.I know how scary it can be but remember there are alot of false positives on paps and even if it is something you can get it taken care of before it turns into something more serious. |

| Hi there,
You definitely need to get him to a doctor.I dont think ER asap is overeacting to the situation. Dont panic that wont help anything either but get him some help. One poster already mentioned that vomiting blood is nothing to play around with and they are right. Plus if he hasnt been able to keep anything down he very well might need an IV to rehydrate him.If you cant afford an ambulance ask a neighbor to help you get him into the car I am sure thay would be more than happy to help. Even call a taxi and the driver can help you load him. |

| I dont know how similar they are because I have not read her book but there are jumping moves in her 30 day shred, mainly in level 2 and 3 . There are jump squats, holding in plank and jumping with your feet out to the sides, jumping lunges, and of course jumping jacks lol :). There are several plank moves as well .In her biggest winner series there are endless mountain climber and burpies (that are just so much fun). Biggest Winner and 30 day shred are similar in some ways but different enough that it is worth having both. I am going to assume this is the case with the book as well- a liitle bit of everything but slighly different if that makes sense. | |||

| Hi , Just wanted to add my experience with the DVD.If you stick with it you will see some awesome results.I have been using it pretty consistently over the past month alterating with her Biggest Winner DVD set . MY weight has only gone down a couple of pounds but I dont really care about that.I have lost inches in my hips, thighs and even an inch off my stomach ( which is ALWAYS the last to go) and you can see my muscles.I love my arms and back and I can do real pushups finally- no more knees on the floor:) I am going to get some heavier weights , I use eight lbs now which is okay for level 3 but is becming to easy for level one and parts of level two.I am really commited to eating clean this month so hopefully in another month the results will be even better.Good luck to everyone and stick with it , it really is worth it. |

| Still going strong here , although i was a couple hundred calories over yesterday. The calories were from good stuff though- an apple, and some shredded wheat with peanut butter on top. You dont need candy when you can have peanut butter:) Today will be challenging but everyone can do it. I ran this morning for a few miles which put me in a good frame of mind usually.I dont want to undo all that hard work.I ate a good breakfast too plain yogert, protein powder, and strawberries made into a smoothie.
Hope everyone has a great day and stays away from the candy! |

| Hi,
I hope everyone is doing good on their first day. I have been very good so far today. Eggs , oatmeal, bell peppers and hummus so far. I worked out and am working on the water right now. Where I work at someone has brought in a freakin giant chocolate cake-no joke. I wanted some but didnt have any. Its only 10 days I can live without it. Good luck everyone:) |

| Weight Loss | Any ex-smokers? | Sep 19 2007 17:14 (UTC) |

| Hi there~ I quit smoking about 2 months ago after smoking for over 13 years. I have not gained weight in fact I have lost some weight.I knew I would go right back to smoking if I started to gain alot of weight believe me I had been down this road before several times :) I watched what I ate very carefully and I exercise almost every day I feel terrible if I dont . The exercise will really help with your mood. In fact I think I have swutched addictions.
If you really watch what you eat and exercise it should not be that bad. I looked around on the internet alot so I coulfd figure out how quit correctly this time ( for me at least) and found that your metabolism is only affected about 250 calories a day by not smoking. That is pretty easy to either cut out or burn off. So I didnt gain any excess weight from quitting smoking I am on here to keep myself on track |

| I have tried it and it has worked wonders for me. I have alot of the older tapes ( not to old about 2003 I think) and I like these more than the recent ones~a little longer. I alternate the tapes and running six days a week. Since I get my cardio from the running I usually do the weight training videos. I havnt lost that much weight- only two pounds.Keep in mind though that I quit smoking during this time and still lost a little bit while adding muscle. Im 6'1 and 165 but I am getting really lean which is more important to me anyways. I am almost 30 and these videos have really defined my arms and legs. They are good for your abs as well . Just be sure to use weights that are challenging for you and keep increasing the weight as you get stronger so you really push yourself. Good luck to you! |
