I am in distress as I read these comments. My one thought? I am so sad to see people giving someone, or something, else credit for all of their hardwork! YOU did this, for yourself. YOU lost the weight. YOU are capable of being all you can be. You are achieving your goals, not God.

sjwashburn: "the people you are with are NOT concerned about what you ear..just that you are there!" > thank you so much for putting that in my head, that was one of the big things for me when I was living with anorexia. Now that I can feel more comfortable eating in public, it feels like a load has been lifted off my shoulders. xue_mei: Thanks for the advice. I really love that I can eat what my body tells me to now. I guess I was just blown away by how hungry I really was today. I will have fun and I wont over analyze what I eat!

Actually, with your stats you have a BMI that signifies you are underweight. And if you've begun to work on muscle, those little fluctuations you see could be muscle mass. Also, when you begin to up your calories, you can see a gain in water weight. Don't stress about this, it goes away in a few days. Try weighing yourself once every week or two, it will be easier to avoice becoming fixated on fluctuations that way.

My nightly check-in had begun! Today: I didn't eat anough for breakfast, only a piece of fruit. I did yoga! I didn't weigh myself! I ate about 1540!! > I am so proud of myself for that one. I drank plenty of water, I could tell, I was in the bathroom all day! Goals for tomorrow: Again, eat a healthy amount for breakfast, say, 300 calories. Run in the morning Drink lots of water, and no diet beverages. Don't weigh myself good luck everyone!

You have no idea how much better this makes me feel. Now I know I'm not alone! YES, I have recently re-discovered my love for peanut butter and almonds, they really are life savers. And it makes me sad that people shy away from them, they are so healthy!

Today has been wonderful, I feel better than ever now that I, for once, haven't been restricting during the day! So far: B: Yogurt and a plum L: turkey sandwich on WW bread with spinach, onions and mustard. Some more yogurt. S (at around 2): Luna bar S (at around 5): almonds, apple and a eudora chocolate (it's an amazing calcium supplement) D: will most likely be grilled chicken and a salad, or another turkey sandwich. I hope everyone is doing well!

Flax oil? That is a very good idea! Flaz is one of the most nutritious things out there, and now it's become so readily available. Thanks for the tip pbb922! |

I know exactly what you mean. I think that seeing a low number for my day is actually a trigger for me! Yeah, everyone is different, but such a big defecit for a long period of time could really mess with your metabolism. Believe me, I've been there. My goal: B: fruit and yogurt L turkey sandwich on WW bread or a salad with grilled chicken S: Apple and peanut butter D:whichever I difn't have for lunch and some yogurt S: some veggies or some fruit. |

Rainhana- In my neck of the woods, Larabars are always sold in the organic section of the supermaket I love nutrition bars! They are such a handy snack, and if you choose the right ones, they can be a better alternative to things like oily granola bars and sugary fruit snacks. I like Clif Bars (esp. peanut butter and blueberry crisp), Soy Joy bars, Larabars, Clif Z bars, But Luna Bars have to be my absolute favorite, hands down. My personal favorite being the strawberry yogurt kind =D

I think it's been 2 days since I've checking in? At any rate, I've remained binge free =D! The cool thing I have noticed though, is that when I don't restrict during the day, I can actually sense when I'm hungry and I am able to eat the right amount of calories! (usually, I was too low.) Hooray for metabolisms. Yesterday I ate around 1700 calories. Today's plan; B: yogurt and an apple S: tea L: turkey sandwich on WW bread, or a salad with grilled chicken S: banana, or some peanut butter crackers, or both. D: whichever I didn't have for lunch! S: some more yogurt, and maybe some veggies or fruit I hope all is well.

hi again! I stuck to my plan today-for the most part. I DID go over my calorie prediction for the day, but not due to binging, it was purely because I worked out more than I expected and ended up needing around 2000 calories to maintain for the day! I went running =D. I am following an intuitive eating type plan-so I eat when my body tells me to! Tomorrow's plan; B: Banana and low fat plain yogurt L: Turkey Sandwich on WW bread, apple S: Adora chocolate, almonds and tea D: Some sort of salad with grilled chicken or turkey slices, or another turkey sandwich. S: Yogurt and carrot sticks or cherry tomatoes total right now; around 1300 calories And depending on how much I run, some small snacks here and there to keep my metabolism up!

I hope this doesn't seem to forward, but I really wish this board was more moderated. There are still people posting intakes that are well below a healthy amount. For some people this could be triggering. so please refrain from posting if you are going to post anything below the healthy minimum of 1200 cal for women, and 1500 cal for men. On that note, here was my day =]; B: Light n' fit yogurt, apple, and some almonds L: Turkey sandwich on WW bread with spinach and tomato and a kashi granola bar S: adora chocolate and some tea D: Salad with all the veggies I please, and some shredded turkey breast for protein, a banana with some plain yogurt S: mini popcorn bag with my movie date Yumm!

Sash08, you are already at a very healthy weight! If you plug your stats into the tools on this site, you have a BMI of 20.9. That is wonderful! If you feel a little out of sorts, try toning up by hitting the weights- just like Spirochete said. Or you could do some yoga or pilates, both of those are a sculpting sort of workout. Also, you should be consuming well above 1200 calories a day, more about 1800 calories. I would say try not to limit your calories too much, this can lead you down a road to ED's and a supressed metabolism. Be careful, happy and healthy! Best of luck.

Oh my gosh, I can identify with all of you in so many ways. WE CAN DO THIS, it's going to be okay. I, like many people on here, am a recovering anorexic who puts healthy weight back on through binges. It's so terrible. Because I may not look overweight, because I'm not (in fact because of binging I actually look better because of the extra pounds) but I'm gaining weight in such an unhealthy way that it just feels icky. I just had a binge today; I wont list what because that can be a trigger for some people and the acutal foods shouldn't be the focus, but I got some really neat advice that I'd love to share.. Throw away all of your trigger foods. Anything that you keep depriving youself of all day and end up going hog wild later, get rid of. Let me tell you, it feels SO GOOD to march over to a thrash can and chuck all that food out without eating it. It is almost cleansing..it's like you're throwing out all your frusterations and pain at that moment. By keeping all that food in your house that you've been known to binge on, you're holding yourself back. It is almost as if you're enabling yourself. So just keep all those foods that leave you with terrible memories out of your house and out of mind. Focus on healthy foods that you enjoy, but wont binge on. SO march yo your cupboards and cleanse yourself of all that food that has haunted you so many times! TRY IT! I guarnantee you will feel WONDERFUL. This is an everyday battle, hang in there guys! WE CAN DO THIS!

I just did exactly what you recommended and it felt GREAT. I live in a dorm, so it is a little different..but I grabbed all the triggering foods out of my cupboards (my 'yogurt' covered pretzles, my truffles, fatty breakfast bars and my candy and I marched down my hallway and THREW IT AWAY! It felt like I was throwing out all my frusterations and anger along with it. WOW
