stefanie, no if your micronutriants are great, your not losing muscle, your supplying healthy nutrients to your body, keep doing what your doing if your happy at your weight loss... if you are eating junk food you are not getting the healthy nutrients your body needs

Megs, trust me I KNOW your pain, I stayed at about 140-145 for nearly a year before I even got down to the 130's... BUT I have to tell you the first time you see that break, you got such a boost, that it seems to come off quick...that's what happened to me, once I broke after a year of 140's, the 139-135 melted off, or it seemed it did... maybe in a month or 2... which for me is huge! now I'm stuck from 132-135ish and it will take the same perserverance and hard work, it's not easy... it only works for me when I really change up my workout routines and just eat more salads and fruits... it will come off, it takes time... I realized my culprit was sugar, and I had to cut it completely out of my morning coffee that helped tremendously.......

Danielle, that's not fair your bf is doing that to you! have you tried talking to him and asking him to support your weight loss efforts? if anything, WHEN you get past all the cravings and temptations, and lose the weight, you will have achieved a milestone...cuz' he is def. upping your pain threshold! ;) ....

Stefanie, yes micronutrients are extremely important, because it helps your metabolic rate in the body, the sugar and high froctose stuff and salt slow it down... it makes a huge difference....

stefanie, when you say 'not clean' diet whattya mean? for I mean if you stay w/in a calorie limit and eat oreo cookies, all day, you'll lose weight but not fat.. fat burning is when your body uses it for energy as opposed to storing it... I would try to eat cleaner than not, because there is such a thing as 'skinny fat' ... I know I was one of them years ago.... I didn't workout like I do now, but was very small, only thing had a pouch and chubby face, arms, but tiny tiny like size 2 tiny! this was year and years ago though, I must have been 23 at that time...

I broke the plateau! 134 yesterday, plus tom is here so hopefully if I continue w/the new work outs it will keep breaking it and my set point will get lower... yesterday was my daughters Holiday Banquet for School, Dance Team and I ate a little bit tooo much pumkin pie and stuffing! my tummy still hurts from it! I dare to weigh myself this am... Gosh guys, it's the holidays and I KNOW I'm going to be enjoying the food and especially the desserts, thats my favorite part! Ok, so I vow to workout extra hard today and drink my water! What are you ladies doing to keep yourself in a healthy mind set? any goals this week? 

Oh and my abs are still sore from my workout 2days ago? is that normal? time for a google...

Ok, I did it! two days in a row working out! feel good! I did Jillian Michaels Kickboxing video...it was good, not as hard as I thought it would be... did Turbo Jam Kickin Core, I realize that I have gotten bored w/Punch, Kick and Jam Turbo Jam... plus now I'm in a plateau and have been stuck so maybe changing up the routine will help... I know I woke up this am w/my stomach muscles sore, and I haven't felt that in months and months! so hopefully that's good... TOM is creeping up and my pasta cravings have been unstopable, but it is whole grain pasta... I know I have lost complete control of my portion sizes, I don't even stop anymore, I just keep going until I give myself a tummy ache...;( this is the reason for my weight gain creeping back up... I must control myself! 

Gina, have fun on teh 10miles!  glad he will be able to help w/the animals while your gone! When you go away I will be focusing on the same thing as well, controling myself w/the food and drink consumption

Thanksgiving going over to Sister's house, mom, other sister, daughter, some friends are all coming over it should be fun and relaxing... I plan on being the older sister who will be sitting on the couch w/a glass of wine and NOT cooking!

She was so very cold, and short w/Mackenzie Phillips...it was hard to watch...I had to go to oprah.com and tell her 'shame on you!' for being so cold to her, some people even said she had been warmer and more receptive to dogs on her show. I'm over her

Karey, I'm glad your feeling better! don't worry about working out so quickly let your body heal, you know what they say, work out if it's a head cold and don't work out if it's a chest cold, or something like that... I think it's because working out and if it's in the chest and lungs it actually makes you worse.

I haven't worked out in a couple days, yesterday I just didn't feel like it... I have been so out of my work out game, and it's noticable... I took some pics at my sis's bday party and my face is def. rounder ;( not happy about that... uh! thanksgiving is coming too and there's noooo way I'm not gonna eat, mac and cheese, turkey, stuffing, potatoes, forget it, oh and pumpkin pie! awww!!!! my mantra today, I have to work out... no matter what...

I have to work out today, I have to work out today... just got to get myself motivated...

Danielle, I think if your sedantary for the most part 1400 isn't soo bad, I eat 1700 usually and lose when I work out and gain if I don't... punch in your numbers and see. Maybe just try to keep it at 1500, which is still considered low to me. Glad your daughter is feeling better! sooo scary h1n1!

Karey, if the phlem is green or hard then you def. have a viral infection and will need antibiotics to get rid of it, the the mucus is clear than it's a nasty cold and antibiotics won't do much, I'm surprised your doc. didn't mention that, feel better! Most likely you have the flu, it has hit almost everyone I know, at some point or another... :) Vit. C! rest rest! (((karey))))

Megs, sounds like the exact same situation I had, I was at 120 when  a bad breakup lead to my weight gain, I got up to near 160! I'm 5'3 and small framed so it was not good! I'm trying to get back to 120's still struggling but know will get there, it's my eating habits, I know exactly what I need to do, and just stay focused... the girls here know how I struggled w/140's and breaking out of it... were here for you, keep at it

Sarah! ofcourse you are always welcome back! nice to see you again, although I'm sorry about the miscarriage, I've had one and it's very emotional so I understand completely. Good luck on working towards the second one ;) 

Megs reminded me of when I first started the thread and I was at about 147 and was stuck there for nearly year, it took me a long long to get past my humps and plateaus and now working on the second biggest plateau been here at 135ish for nearly 3months now, gotta kick it up, but it takes time Megs, try to focus on an accomplishment everyday even if it's little, like getting all your h20 in, those little accomplishments led to big results through time for me, and it will for you too

stefanie, New Rules def. talks about upping cals, I find that hard but Karey had done it before right?

Karey! I'm sooo sad your sick! sounds like an awful virul infection, did you get some antiobiotics for you from the doc? a zpak maybe? Please feel better... as you have told me before it takes time and it may be your body just wanting to heal right now so don't fret about working out, your cals in are probs low, feel better and try to go to the doc please, I know 2 ppl that got h1n1, it's scary...

Okay, I am exhausted from the past week... I just want to curl up on couch and chill out, just had breakfast and coffee and had  long long night, but it was fun.

hey girls, the scale registered 136 this am, but I feel smaller in my belly area, I've been watching portions for two days plus did work out yesterday as well, would like to get one in today but depends on time... it's my sisters bday party tonight and I don't want to feel all bloated and grosse, will keep the eating under check all day, got more meetings set up for later today and got to get myself together... Gina soo glad you got yo' computer back!

Karey! soo glad to see your back! Oh NO! feel better! chicken stock, rest and rest! I have to commend you on getting those workouts in, and yes the walking in Vegas is no joke! You walk everywhere! sorry to hear that it wsn't as good as SF... Vegas is a place you go to for like 3days tops, then you start to feel suffocated! So I know exactly what you mean! 

When you get back it will melt off quickly, plus since you have no appetite might as well take advantage of that as Gina would say to me...

Me, did a workout today after 4days of no working out, was busy busy and now have a bit of anxiety and just exhausted, I think my daughter exhausts me more than I consider.... anyway, my tummy is bloated and I feel it in my face too, gotta eat as clean as possible, downed 60oz of water so far, flushing it out, hopefully it's mostly water weight... I dare get on that scale, I know it will only make me upset... so tom. another strong and heavy cardio session before a round of meetings again...

Hey Girls, 

Sorry I've been MIA, been crazy busy, but good busy... keeping things moving and shaking... haven't been good on my diet and working out, it's been 2days no working out... today I gotta get something in, got a Birthday party on Tues. and want to feel good in whatever I wear. so gotta get the eating under control too... stress eating is the worst... 

Megs, the Taco Soup sounds delicious, what else do you put in your taco soup? I think I want to make some, oh and lol, my name is Soraya not sonara ;) 

stefani, I have the same goal as you, I have managed to lose about 20lbs and now got about 13 to go! it's the hardest 13 lbs ever, it seems to hold on to me and fight my set point...

Okay gonna try to relax, I'm just tired and exhausted from last week... I may just take a nap

I have gone through sooo much stuff in the past couple days girls! Car trouble, work, daughter... I have completely lost my appetite... maybe that is a good thing, maybe not... regardless I am not not not hungry, can't even stomach food right now! how crazy when I'm bored I eat like a maniac, feeding myself over and over but when I'm crazed, I go into survival mode and my mind completely forgets about food... I will get back on schedule...got 2 days of meetings and then the wknd.... 

We all have seem to come off the wagon, time to saddle up... Innocent

Danielle, I'm sooo sorry your daguhter has the flu! Get some DVD's.. does your cable provider do Free on Demand? they sometimes have DVD's on their for free! well not really free, you pay for it, look for the sports or fitness channel

Megs and Bee, it takes time.. it took me 2 years to drop 15lbs! long long time sometimes at a 1 or 2lbs a month, sometimes nothing but I kept going at it, I changed a few things and realize my body knows when it's time to release the fat, plus the working out and keeping the calorie deficit helps... 

Bee, anything that is steamed is good the chinese restaurant and have brown rice instead of white, you'll feel better after ;) 

Karey, hope you are having a blast in Vegas!!! ;)

Healthisinplease, making statments that the only 'civilized' people in AFrica are South Africans is one of the most ignorant statements I have ever heard... then pretending to not know (unless I believe someone mentioned above..you are slow) that comparing humans to animals is not racist, is even more of an ignorant statement... you my dear are a racist, you believe that a whole race is inferior and uncilvilized because of where they are from... I'm not african but I am truly disgusted by your remarks, shame on you! You my dear is what I would call "Uncivlized" Good for all the people above, that have called you out on your BS...

Hey girls...

We all fall off the wagon here and there, the best thing we can do is try to stay as consistent as possible, a few days or even a week won't undo months of hard work, but months of bad eating and no working out will def. undo that motivation and drive... 

We all have our moments, don't beat yourself up at all.. heck last night I ate jack in the box at two in the am, finished w/ a dark chocolate candy bar at 3am, why? because I wanted it... today is a new day, I always try to balance myself out by eating salads and staying consisten w/it as best I can... 

I went out last night, and tonight is a friends bday, so will def. be drinking some martini's or something... so I will work out especially hard today and drink as much as water as possible, plus do my P90X Cardio workout... 

For comfort food that is not going to hurt the eating habits too much...hmmmmm... I would have to pass that baton to Gina, she's better at that than me... Low Sodium homemade Chicken soup and multi grain crackers? maybe that... I'm a soup lover so any kind of low cal soup would be good...

Karey have soo much fun in Vegas! You deserve it! Can't wait to hear about the trip and see new pics ;) 

Gina uh! I know you won't be able to read this this wknd, but I just did a p90x Cardio ...and in the beg of it, he's too slow for me, he talks kinda breathy and there seems to be a lot of sexual grunts and oohs and ahhs which is annoying, BUT I gotta say once I got passed it, and started getting into plyometrics wow! I was sweating my butt off! Great work out, I feel fantastic...

so gonna clean the house and enjoy the day everyone have a wonderful day!

Hi Girls,

Megs, no I do DVD's I can't afford the gym at the moment, I do Amy Bento In The Ring, that helped me shake my first plateua and now I do Turbo Jam, Punch, Kick and Jam, which has helped me w/my 2nd plateua plus it has helped reshape my arms and back, tummy, butt, the tone is coming back which is important to me... :) 

Danielle, that's the thing, when I was a size 2, I thought of myself as big! I would and will never ever ever take for granted my body...I think as women we don't love our shapes no matter what size they are and it causes the fluctuations and gains and self sabatoge, etc., etc., I know because ... Uh! You guys are not going to be believe what I just did!

When I logged on to CC, I saw the picture of the Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie...and as I'm typing Danielles response, i kept thinking Oatmeal cookie and ran out to trader joe's and got some vegan oatmeal chocolate chip cookies... I'm a sucker for ads! now I'm back 

But I wanted it ;) anywhooo... Danielle, I know how that feels, usually ppl who are a size 2 and feel like they are fat (I was one of them) either end up getting big or keep that complex for the rest their life... I'm glad I recognize it now... 

lossfast, yes, those habits I have to break, I'm getting their slowly but surely :) 

I'm running to my sisters to try on her smaller than me size, clothes hopefully I'll be able to fit into some stuff, got huge meetings lined up for next week and want to knock em dead!

Hi Megs! Welcome!

What I do for workouts is Kickboxing, love it! since I started kickboxing at the top of the year, I broke 2 plateus! plus my bum is lifting and my arms are finally getting back to normal... 14lbs is not hard at all, but don't be too hard on yourself if you don't get there... It took me a couple years to break the 10lb loss and then bam, it started to fall off... I did change my eating, more clean eating, lots of salads and lentils and I stopped having sugar in my coffee in the am... that made a huge difference for me, I was using Coffeemate every morning having two cups and then on CC my sugar percentage was sometimes up to 300 percent!!! I couldn't believe it, it took me a week or two and now just cinammon and skim, PLUS I layed off the Wine that was hurting me too... um, me when I eat carrots and water my stomach aches! and it feeeels like I'm starving so I get that...try to dip your carrots in humus or have some sort of fat w/it, you will feel more satiated.... welcome! our girls are awesome! Gina is a dietecian so she has all kinds of information that is awesome! and Karey is the lifting queen and focused, I'm sooo excited about the new girls here :) welcome welcome all... tell us how it goes everyday and yes it's okay if we slip up, we stay at it and continue to support and care for one another no matter what :)

tenderleigh, taking measurements is key when youfirst start to work out! ;) good job, me I should have thought of that earlier, because the scale can register so many numbers that go up and down that don't reflect how small you are really getting, it's like peeling a layer of onion, little by little it chips away... I'm sure if I had started w/measurements I would have deemed my progress in a better more positive light, but I stayed stuck on the scale for so long, recently started taking measurements and now it makes more sense... and why do we gain those 'happy pounds' when in a relationship, I know what you are talking about there... so many ppl go through that... glad to have you here and that you are on the right track, one thing we believe here is slow and steady wins the race ;) 

Gina!! call me at home tonight if your around!!! got sooo much to tell you girl, Karey where's my girl at?

Bee, why do you feel awkward about eating healthy in front of her, or talking about it?I mean you can tell her that eating even cucumbers/celery/salads are very very cheap when made at home... and healthy also, healthy foods don't have to be expensive... I was told this time and time again, and just recently figured it out... beans, salad equals cheap cheap... 

also oodanielle, welcome! and I agree buying also family size and using portion control can be just as good...
