Banana... Your dad says what?? :-)

Kitchen certainly isn't the man's playground...  He should encourage you to bake and cook instead of telling you to stay away.  That's how you're going to learn about food.

About the "what's in my food" discussion.  I don't think I've ever found something too out-of-place, but the fact that high fructose corn syrup is in everything certainly means I stay away from processed food as much as possible.

159 lbs this morning. Vacations were not as bad as I thought Laughing

That's 3 lbs for the month for me.  Not the goal, but considering the very yummy and decadent food I ingested for 2 weeks, I'm happy.

I have a scale here, but it tells me I'm 151.5 lbs... woohoo. A whole 10 lbs dropped like this, I like. lol.. I wish

I'll weight myself when I get back next week.

Did someone say chocolate milk??? lol

My husband looooovves chocolate milk.  The thing is, his metabolism doesn't follow.

Why don't you simply tell your boyfriend how you feel about his attitude towards you trying to lose weight?  Simple, but sometimes simple works.

Good luck anyway and don't let this keep you down!!

ok, one whole week... no change. Still at 161.5.  I lost 0.5 lbs.

Considering we have a company dinner this week and I ordered a 1300 calories shrimp plate (yeah, 1300.. I had no idea!), I think that was good. :)

nicolee - are you saying you are not eating for 6 days and eating a lot on the 7th?

Btw, 1000 calories for one day is not even close to what I think you should be having.

Could you elaborate on your technique, because i think I'm missing something?

Thanks

Lost 1/2 lbs today... Not great. But I'll take that over a gain.  I'm at 161.5.

I've eaten well (not well enough though) and worked out 1 day since Friday.  Walked the dog and that's about it.  Let's kick it up a notch!

Trish, right now, I'm main goal is getting the number of calories that I'm supposed to take in.  I haven't been focusing on getting the "right kind of calories" just yet.

I will be working on getting the right kind of food next.  You are saying that high protein is good.  I'll remember that!

What do you mean by eat a crab and eat a protein?

Awesome post Trisha.

I'm in my week 1. I'm at work trying so hard NOT to think about food and drinking lots and lots of water to get that "full" feeling, but it's hard.  I want a chocolate bar and a bagel and, and... so yeah, I'm starving.  Even though I had a good breakfast.

Can't wait for week 2 and the mood swings. Sounds so great!!! Wink

Hubby and I also got married at City Hall by a JP almost 2 years ago. We were in the exact same situation: been together for 5 years, knew it will be forever, but needed the whole "being married" part to make it easier: buying a house, filing taxes, and so on.

Once you've applied and gotten a license, you can just walk in and ask to be married. Yes, that simple!

 Oh and Congratulations Laughing
