| Foods | Does anyone count Pam when they use it for cooking? | Nov 17 2009 18:43 (UTC) |

I don't usually count Pam when I use it, but I also don't use as much as you. I just spray the pan quickly, and I usually don't have to use much. Have you tried using less? Also, I cook on a nonstick pan, so that helps reduce the amount I need. I figure, if you are spraying 7 to 8 seconds worth, you probably could just a different source of oil. The short 1/3 of a second spray still has calories, but if its only like three you can write it off easier than 50. |

I haven't had lunch yet, but I am planning on a quorn (pseudo chicken breast) sandwich with spinach, tomato, and cheddar cheese on whole grain bread with cottage cheese and a banana... |

The last time I tried running outside was at a summer camp where I was working as a counselor. It had rained the day before, but the ground wasn't too wet. I hadn't been planning on running outside (my gym wasn't open), but thought I'd go for it. I stuck my keys in my pocket and set out running from the parking lot. About half way through I realized I had dropped my keys, but decided to finish the loop I was on anyway-- and then go back on the trail looking for them up until the part where I realized that I had lost them. A couple minutes after this, I got stuck in mud. I then ran through poison ivy. Eventually, I made my way back to the parking lot where I got started. I retraced my route and could not find my keys anywhere. I headed back to my car and found my keys in the parking lot. |

Original Post by delaney86: Yeah, language does evolve. However, now that we have near universal access to things like dictionaries the evolution of language will not occur as quickly as it may have in the past. The way I see it anyway, this is less of an evolution and more of a fad. |

She asked me what my goals were and I told her to run a 5k in the fall, so maybe she thinks I'm more interested in my cardio. At no time did I mention a fear of bulking up. I am female, by the way. Generally speaking, to build strength and some muscle mass should I go with a lower number of reps? |

Next time he asks you how you are doing or however he starts a conversation with you say something like, I'm great thanks, but I'm trying really hard to focus on my workout. I'd finish it up by saying something like excuse me... and then I'd ignore him. But then again, I'm a pretty blunt person. |

I don't really listen to the grades the analysis gives you. While it does analyze ratios and how much of things you eat (i.e. fiber, sugar, macronutrients), it doesn't really look at if you are eating a well balanced diet with enough fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. |

Ultimately, I think it is calories eaten versus calories burned. Eating at night is fine, as long as you eat during the day as well. |

I'm not trying to sound rude, but you eating more would not make me happier. It is not like I have a personal stake in your weight loss, and I am not trying to sabotage it either. Ultimately how much you eat is your choice, but most people on CC would agree that you need to eat more than you are now. (Oh, and I do not think that it makes a difference mostly eating at night because you burn calories all day long.) |

I love the Eat This Not That books, they're entertaining, but also teach you a lot. They're not motivational books, but still interesting. |

| Weight Loss | I think I may have stalled my weight loss with too big daily deficits... | Apr 27 2009 18:22 (UTC) |

I've been reading one of the ADA's books on nutrition, and it says our metabolism doesn't really slow down but that we lose muscle when we have too high of a deficit, and therefore we burn fewer calories. It is possible that you have lost some muscle, but probably not too much in five days. I think your metabolism is fine, but that is just my opinion. |

Koaxfrax-- I don't think that the polar heart rate monitors are supposed to be used to measure your entire day (i.e. they are only accurate at higher heart rates that you would have when working out), there is another type of heart rate monitor that is for that specific purpose, but I don't remember the name! |

Yeah, I get that, but its not like you stop burning a certain amount of calories the day you turn 18, if that makes sense. I was just curious because so many people say you MUST be above a certain amount, and I wanted to know where they get it from. |

So you can keep track of what you eat - which enables you to analyze your foods and receive the following:
- Health Score of your overall diet
- Warning when you approach your daily calorie limit
- Overview of the good and bad nutrients
