I'm BACK!! LOL  Grrrrrrrrr Yes, augette, my little town got hit HARD w/ the winds...kids back outa school and all.....I was lucky that in the fact that I kept all my electric and internet and all BUT both my mother and brothers family was without so my little 2 bedroom house has been a mad house lately...LOL  I am just glad I could help everyone else out but have to admit I am very grateful that Every thing is FINALLY back to normal. (hey does that count as a grateful challenge....LOL!!) How are you doing...are you still recovering from all this bad weather?

Spacedreamer, how are you feeling....gosh it doesn't sound like your having to much fun right now...:(  I have written down things but to be honest have missed out on about a week of sending in points and it would be a lot to send in at once....I think I'm just going to pick up from today and go from there.  I hate missing the points but it's more important to me to just STAY ON TRACK!! :D

Well I can complete my grateful challenge today....I AM SO GRATEFUL THAT I DIDN'T LET UP AND THE SCALE FINALLY MOVED.  LOL  I have been stuck at 134.5 since the 30th of last month....finally came down a pound.  Pleatu's are soooo discouraging....It was very hard not to give in and just eat this last week...But at least for now I'm seeing the pay off!  LOL

Spacedreamer I know I'm a couple days behind on sending points.  I have had my brother and his kids staying with me a couple days and things have just been crazy.  :(  I have got them written down though and will make sure at the end of today to get them all sent in.  :D

Same here augette.  Still have a foot an a half of snow on the ground and under another winter storm advisory (3-6 inches possible)  till 1 pm tomorrow.  :(  I miss the outdoors so much!!!  My daughter has only had 6 days of school since they went on Christmas break back in December.  :(

ARE YOU KIDDING.  Awww I have been so frustrated the last couple days...stubborn scales and feeling hungry (I'm an emotional eater and been depressed...the feeling hungry is because of that I know.  :(  ) BUT I NEVER have won one of the challenges.  This definetly will put a little pep back in my step to go at Feb. a little brighter.  :D

Well I know I have 2 goals I'd like to work towards for Feburary

1.   To get my exercises back up...I have been meeting my 45 minutes a day this month...BUT am use to before doing workouts in the house in the morning and another 45 minutes of walking w/ my daughter in the evenings.  In this cold weather that HAS NOT been getting done...so actually think I'm going to look for me a treadmill so I can continue my old routine no matter what the weather is.  :D

2. AND ALSO STEALING augettes idea.  Mine isn't coming over but under as the problem.  :(  (something I had trouble w/ before when dieting)  I am losing well...have lost 11 lbs since the 7th BUT I feel awful...just weak and tired all the time.  Lets face it, feeling this way is a good way to STOP dieting.  Frown Yesterday I actually cheated my butt off (Pizza Cry ) and I know it's cause my body isn't getting all it needs. SOOOO I'm going to start preplanning my meals a week a head of time so I can try to ALWAYS meet my 1200 a day.  :D

I should have plenty of time for that challenge.  We have been snowed in for a week and last night got another 3 inches and huge ice storm with more coming tonight.  I have done nothing but clean house, and work out.  I welcome the change to SIT and complete a challenge.  LOL

THANKS GIRLS.  I have been eating lots of fiber as christalrae suggested (the doctor had already advised me to make sure and get plenty of fiber do to being on pain meds so I knew that would be okay)  and hadn't even thought of the others.  So far I have managed to keep losing my steady 1/2 lb every two days and eat enough to keep me from being sick on the infection meds!!  I appreciate all the suggestions so much!!

Okay guys...I NEED HELP...LOL.  I went back to the dr (for my kidney infection) and she changed my meds.  She advised me NOT to diet while taking it because she said I need a really full stomach to take this medicine or it could cause me a number of side effects.  I didn't argue with the doctor, BUT I can NOT go off my diet for 10 days.  I may not be severely over weight at this point but I still have 19 lbs to go till goal weight and everyone knows how hard it is to get back up on that diet horse once you fall off.  :(  I am "in rythem" now with it and don't wanna get out.  So what I need help with is I need some foods that will have my stomach very full (volume wise) yet not be high in calorie so I can stay at my 1200 calorie a day intake.  I'm not huge on vegtables... :(...I like some but not a lot....at this point my best ideal is just a lot of salad....but that will get old if I do it everyday for 10 days....so any suggestions will help TONS.  Thanks girls!!!!

I'm doing okay today.  Struggling to get over a kindney infection that is making my workouts a lot less fun!! :(  Plus keeping me from doing the full hour to hour and a half a day I'd like to get to.  My overall goal is going to be to excercise for 45 minutes in the morning and walk for 45 minutes each evening...BUT I'm still seeing the scales move down some so I'm actually VERY happy right now.  :D

And for the Grateful Challenge....today I have been very grateful for my little girl.  As some of you might remember I learned to incorporate HER into my workouts so she is my very special and FUN workout partner.  She's been off school do to weather for the last week (goes back tomorrow) and has REALLY REALLY kept me going with my work outs at a time when I have been hurting bad enough that I probably woulda skipped it without her begging to do them with me  LOL.

Positive Challenge- Grateful Challenge

Well as for EVERYDAY, I'm the most grateful for my daughter.  She is my world...but at the moment...other than that...It would be simply having the Slimming Mini's back up and running.  I have NEVER gotten my 5 a day in, but have almost everyday with this challenge.  I don't know what it is about this group....I mean I am only doing the things I NEED to do and know already that I need to do them...but having the support system of the mini's to push me towards it makes a complete diffrence in my dieting!!!!!

I'm so tickled with this new challange.  I can honestly say I think this is the first time in forever I have actually gotten my 5 a day of the fruit/vegtables....I missed this challange when the minis did it before and am loving being "made" to do it.  LOL

Congrats rabiseydou!!  Oh my gosh you have done so well and are soooo pretty.

Why did I want to get back with Slimming Minis....I was NEVER more motivated and in control of myself....not just with the challanges but with the people here.  Spacedreamer and chrisalrae (among many others) both are 2 people who always seemed to be there for the extra "pep talk" support.  LOL  Honsetly...I hope ya'll will continue to let me join in with the challanges even after I re-meet my goal weight...because honestly I don't think I would have let myself backslide with the mini's to hold accountable for.  I guess that is some if not most of it, I love the challange, BUT seem to NEED to be accountable to more than just to myself.  This place is SUPER MOTIVATIONAL to me.  Thank you so much for restarting it spacedreamer!!

OH YOU KNOW I'M IN!!!  Hey Spacedreamer and Christalrae (and everyone LOL) I did a very big no no...did good for losing my weight and maintiaining (on my own :( ) for close to a year...but then before I knew it had gained so much back.  I know this kinda thing doesn't happen all at once BUT it sure seemed like it.  LOL ANYWAYS, I know I can't do it without my mini's!! You guys were such an inspiration.  And this time when I get back down to goal weight I WILL NOT be leaving CC behind.  Oh well, I guess you live and you learn...LOL

Gosh I was so glad someone else had asked this question...unfortunatly I am NOT new to calorie count, and felt really embaressed that I couldn't remember how much sodium I am suppose to keep UNDER.  I lost 40 lbs with this system back in 2007 (met goal weight of 118) and kept it off for over a year...:( Unfortunatly I quit using calorie count over the summer (just got lazy) and let the holidays get WAY the best of me this year and am now needing to lose again. :(  Even back in 2007 I didn't get this kinda great info on my sodium so wanted to stop and tell ya all how great this place is and say thank you.  I'm also proof you CAN lose (and even keep it off) with calorie count if you can remember that it's a LIFESTYLE change instead of just a temporary phase to go through...LOL

I have MISSED YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!! Oh my gosh. I have had so much stress (still going on :( ) that I can't even begin to explain that things have fell completely apart the last couple weeks. On the silver lining side I have not cheated any (as usual when life turns upside down on me :( ) and not only met goal weight but over shot it. Now it seems I can't figure out how to maintain and to stop losing.....:( As I said one of my weight loss challange post, I know we've all had worse problems than to figure out how to STOP losing weight...(LOL) so I won't complain about it but I guess even if my life is still tore up from top to bottom that I NEED to get back in here and read & set up on my maintence program. I love cc for the fact that no matter what weight "issue" your having they have so much to help u through it. :D

Spacedreamer How is Japan???????? OMGOSH that must be so exciting! I never leave my small hole in my hick town. LOL If ya guys need someone to take over the points for next month LET ME KNOW. I'd be glad to help and it may help get my mind off stuff a little to be responsible for something else. I need something to make me log in and take care of myself. The last couple of weeks that HAS NOT been happening. :(

christalrae thanks so much for your email and actually all though I still have some toning to go those exercises were amazing and my stomach is showing SOOOOOOOOOOOO much improvement!! :D

Hey spacedreamer- According to the Body Mass Index tool here I have a BMI  of 22.  (down from 35 when I started cc  Laughing) And I have a medium frame build.  As far as daily cardio on the treadmill I set it to 6.0 miles an hour for speed but haven't really used incline much as I wear out much quicker that way and started having bad backaches.  Every other day I do "Strength" training exercise which include doing the crunches and Oblique Crossover Crunches for my abs....and on opposite days when I do my weight training exercises in which I work all the exercises on this page holding weights for more resistance on the first and the last one ( http://www.women-workout-routines.com/female- abs.html ) these are suppose to work the upper, lower and sides of abs.  According to the navy online body FAT calculators I have a body fat percentage of 34% though...This goes by the measurements just below your belly button which is my trouble zone and so even so close to my goal weight KNOW that I need to do something to bring this belly fat down.  BAD.  I have been told over and over to go on the South beach diet.....BUT I know I can't live my life with little to no carbs and really want to lose this in a way I'll be able to maintain it.  I don't over due on my carbs though I don't think, my average percentage for a day is Fat 25%, Protien 30% and Carbs 45%.  Yes some days it seems I may get a little more fat or a little less fat and a little more carb but for the majority I have been able to stick to this.  I'm trying not to let all this get me down.   But it's frustrating.  LOL  I do know I want to try a book that christalrae emailed me about (The Bathing Suit Workout- THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT!) so maybe through that I will find the exercises that will work but any suggestions on what I can change will be so so welcome!!  Laughing  I honestly couldn't be prouder of my weight loss, All this exercise has really had it dropping off pretty study and I AM happy with that but my belly has only lost 1 inch during losing almost 25 lbs....everything is looking improved except that which honestly is making it stand out even more.  Frown

Hey Guys.....I know WHAT I want to set for my Challenge Yourself challenge but not sure HOW.  If any of ya read my other post or journal you know that I am having major issues with my stomach area.  I want to somehow challange myself on working and getting some results with this area but as I already do so with my strength training days (which just isn't the right ones obviously because there is very little if ANY change) I'm not sure what to do.  Any advice?

As for my Positive Challenge Positive Change  I think I covered that one today.  LOL  I have been so so stressed about moving back into my old family home.  I love it here but the key word is OLD.  LOL  I got the smaller of the bedrooms so that Shell could have the biggest (Dang girl booted me out of my master with having so many big toys.  LOL)  and my room was AWFUL!  Holes in the wall paint peeling and chipped and all.  Well yesterday I got at it and tonight, all though I can't sleep in there it's done.  AND the biggest positive of working on that negative was the BURN METER.  According to my burn meter over the last 2 days of plastering, building and painting I have burned close to 800 calories (that actually might be more because I listed everything as moderate effort when some didn't feel to moderate.  LOL) So I'm real tickled with this!!!

Hey Girls!  How's everyone doing today?  I'm so bummed.  Just spent my time on the treadmill and have to admit.....all though easy because I do it while shell and I watch tv.....is SOOOOOOOO boring compared to our fun track walks.  I'm starting to force myself to get on that treadmill where I never had to on our outside walks.  This rainy, cold, and soon to be snowy weather is going to be alot to adjust to while trying to hold on to my "healthy" lifestyle....Any one else seeming to have that problem?

Hello hildieb,  I don't know about everyone else here but although cutting your calories to lose weight during a plateau does work it's not the best method.  When I hit mine I was barely getting 1200 calories a day (my recommended amount)  I cut and cut till I was down to about 850-950  (VERY BAD EMILY) was so weak most days I was forcing myself to get daily routines and workouts done and still was just barely starting to move the scales again.  The only thing that seems to have worked for me is during a "physical challenge" of the slimming minis thread I had to start walking.  I loved it.  I got my calories ALMOST back up to 1200 and started walking on top of doing any exercise I can during the day and the added activity was what worked for me.  I'm back to losing between  2 and 2.5 lbs a week (or have been with goal in site I expect that to slow down some)  My metabolism is EXTREMELY slow do to battling anorexia in my teens so if I cut calories instead of add the exercise I would have had to go down to low to survive, at least with any kind of health.  IF you do cut calories just be very careful and listen to your body.  If you start feeling draggy or weak make sure and re-adjust them quick.  Sorry, I hope this wasn't all worthless drivel  (LOL) but was hoping I could help with the plateau issue.  :D

I don't know why I get so upset over a little chocolate.  LOL  I have noticed the closer I get to my goal weight that the harder time I've given myself over "little slip ups".  I guess it's one of those cases where you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and still feel like your never going to reach it.  LOL  Heck I'm already starting to stress over how I'll mantain (and maintence is probably still at least a month away).  But losing has never been the problem for me....MAINTING HAS.  Luckly though I'm doing GREAT on my water before meals.  It took me a couple days to remember to drink at least a glass before meals but I always drink between 11-12 glasses of water a day so it was more a matter of training myself on WHEN to do it for this challange.  LOL
