Yes, any ideas do!  I love cottage cheese and I do have apples and peanut butter.  Thanks Eeyore-Sarah!

I like snacking on air-popped popcorn.  It's like 30 calories for a cup so you can much down quite a bit.  I don't add any butter and just eat it plain (it has taken me awhile to get to that).  I do sprinkle a little bit of seasoning if I am really wanting flavor.

Thanks Kirstin!  I'll have to look into those skillet meals! :)

I am going to pose a question for the group:  what are your favorite healthy snack to eat?  I am getting bored with what I am eating and would like a fresh perspective.

Hahaha!  Lee, I think you and I are on the same wavelengh!  Sarah, I've never thought about just drinking in the milk but that is a great idea!  I think that I have been taking in to few calories.  Dinner I am really trying to watch my portion sizes and choosing healthier options but money is tight and I can't afford to go to the grocery store so we're eating out of the cupboards for awhile which is making SIS happy but not my diet.

This is all about babysteping so right now portions is my focus.  I guess because of lowering my portion sizes for dinner it makes me hungry a few hours later and so much so that I almost can't stand it.  I've read in a few places that you should eat when you are hungry but to eat protein since your body digests it quicker but then other places tell you not to eat before you go to bed.  I'm not sure who to believe!

On that note, not knowing will help me to try to get into bed earlier.  If I'm asleep I can't be hungry.  On my insomnia nights I'll choose the glass of milk and see how that goes.

Oh, I was also going to ask if anyone has problems with nighttime hunger.  The past few nights I've felt like I am starving right before I go to bed.  It is so strong that I have to eat something.  I've opted for plain cheereo's and 1% milk but I hate going to bed with something on my stomach.  Does anyone else struggle with this and if you do what do you do?

Thanks Kirstin!  I thought the real thing would be better too but when I plugged my numbers in it said it was just as "bad" as the fake stuff.  I only drink one cup a day and I only put 2 tbsp half & half.  I've tried black and just can't do it.  I love my morning coffee and really didn't want to part with it.  Thank you, that did help a lot.

Are there any coffee drinkers on here?  I drink my coffee with creamer and sugar.  I have switched my sugar to Splenda and that has helped a lot but no matter what I use for creamer it gives me a D.  I've used fat free/sugar free Coffeemate creamer and I've used half & half.  I don't like drinking it black either and I'm not ready to give it up just yet so does anyone have any ideas for coffee creamer?

Ok, it's been too long since I have been on here.  I guess I'm going to have to put a note in my daily list to check this thread.  I have gotten so used to the SCS thread that I forget about this one.

Sarah-I'm with Kirstin about the whole wheat thing.  It has taken me awhile to get my family on board as well but they have finally came around and it has made it a lot easier.  My biggest problem is getting 1% or fat free milk.  DH refuses to drink it because of the consistency so I've got to buy Braum's milk because their milk is thicker.  It is a struggle, but I know one day it will pay off.

I don't even want to talk about this weekend.  Bad, bad, bad.  So, I'm not going to focus on it and put my energies on today and what I eat and how much TODAY.  Hope everyone else is doing good today!

I'm with 2kc, Sarah.  This thread has been such a blessing.  I can already feel a change in my life and it is not forced but out of love for myself.  This thread is allowing us to all make changes in our lives and no not every day is going to be perfect but just know in the grand scheme that you're making positive changes that are going to last a lifetime.

I do the same think 2kc.  If I tell myself I can't have something it makes me want it more.  My problem is not listening to my body and really knowing I am full and not over-eating.  I also have a problem with keeping portion sizes down.  Those are my baby steps right now with getting more exercise in and drinking more water.  This weekend I really just tried to focus on what kinds of foods I was eating and why I was eating what I was eating.  It was a real eye-opener.

I keep forgetting to check this thread, too!  I love seeing everyones pics as well and that is cool we're all brunettes.  :)

I had a horrible day today healthy wise so I'm not even going to go there.  I am fixing to plug in my stats and see what my grade is.  I haven't begun to log my workouts, just the eating.  Baby steps!

How do you search for people on here?  I know that Marnie signed up but I can't figure out how to search for her.
