Congrats to all who have seen a loss this week!!! I've managed to maintain this week (especially exciting since I'm "being a girl"... I guess drinking a lot of water helps to curb the girlie weight gain!). Last week: 168 |

innocent_sin -- The bottom line is, just lose what you want to. If you are comfortable 15 pounds lighter, then stay there. If you get there and think that maybe you should drop a little bit more, you can take it slow and see what fits you best. Like Paige said, weight sits differently on different people. It's all about how you feel.
And I just thought I'd share... I've found my new favorite workout! My nearly stepson has an Xbox 360 that lives at our apartment, but he's not around very often. I just bought Dance Dance Revolution for it, and I love it! There's even a "workout" feature where you can input you weight and it will tell you how many calories you've burned! This will be great for when it's icky outside and I can't get the motivation to go to the gym. However, living in an apartment, I have to be careful to not do it too early or too late... the downstairs neighbors may complain about the thumping noise from above. |

Happy Monday, ladies!! Paige -- Happy Anniversary!!!! Did you get the car?
Missea -- Isn't it a great feeling when you've hit a plateau or losing PAINFULLY slowly, then all of a sudden you drop a couple of pounds? That's the best! Congrats! waddope -- Are you able to eat at work (are you at a desk)? I would try to have a meal and a snack before you head home, that way you won't be as prone to stopping at BK. And make sure you are getting enough protein... I find when I'm not eating protein like I should be, I ALWAYS crave fast food! samiaz -- I've had the chocolate cake urge too... Weight Watchers has a mini-snack cake line out (which includes devil's food). The cakes are small, but only 80 calories, so they don't hurt too much. Give that a shot, and congrats on the weight loss! Official weigh-in: I'm really happy, but I know that the evil "girlie" time is rapidly approaching, so let's see if I can try to stay there. Have a good day, everyone! |

Jen -- congrats on the 10 pound loss this month!! That's incredible!! Innocent -- I didn't own a scale for a LONG time just so I would have the excuse that I couldn't look (and when I got too antsy, it would force me to go to the gym). I think it's definitely better to be able to check it at home, but I would recommend getting a decent scale. I bought mine at the 99 cent store (no joke!) and I'm always worried that it's not really accurate. Amber -- Welcome!! The more the merrier, and certainly more support |

Morning ladies Welcome all the new people! I'm feeling like I did really well yesterday. I actually came in just under my calories (1350), but I went bowling and dancing with a friend and then did some walking. I hope that jump starts the weightloss again. Samiaz - I usually weigh myself in the morning, naked before I hop in the shower. I think that gives me the most accurate number (especially since I have a cheap-o scale). Paige - I'm sorry that yesterday was hard... today is a new day, right? Just keep working on it. I know that when I was first trying to stick to a calorie count, it was awful. I was hungry all the time, but I've found that being persistant (and allowing myself some slip-ups) that I'm more likely to stay within my limits. |

Paige -- I'm engaged, and he kind of flip-flops back and forth. Sometimes he really makes an effort to check the labels when we are shopping, and sometimes he actually gets upset at me that I'm "obsessing" and that it doesn't matter. We are having other problems though, so his unsupportiveness could just be an extension of that. maysy -- we're here for you |

Thanks, runner_girl. I try really hard not the let it bum me out, and most of the time I can let it go. Only once in a while does it really make me nutsy Thinking about it as a lifestyle and not a diet is a great way of looking at it! The roadblock I have there is that my fiance likes to cook (and he's Irish, so he cooks with a TON of butter), but I've gotten to the point where I can figure out how much I can have, and what I need to do to make a better choice. Let's keep it up!! |

I also had some eating out this weekend, so I wasn't as good as I should've been. And sadly, the scale shows it. I haven't gained, but I haven't lost either. *sigh* Height: 5'3

foxylady -- chin up... we all have bad weeks, but the best part of that is: you can make the choice to do better. And honestly, it's only one week... there are plenty more where that came from :o) Weigh in this morning: 170 (down 4 pounds from last week... stupid period), 40 pounds to go! |

I, too, am a fall 2008 bride. I was supposed to be a fall 2007 bride, but that crazy money thing is just too hard to gather in NYC! I already bought my dress (a size 12), and I'm now 10 pounds lighter. I'm hoping to lose another 40 by my wedding date, but I know that's a longshot. But I certainly would much rather take my dress in than try to let it out. Good luck to all us brides trying to shed a little extra weight for our big day!! |

| alieajo -- Happy Early Birthday!! While your goal probably won't be reached by then (unless you lose a limb, which is certainly a BAD route to weightloss), the fact that you've managed to shed over 40 pounds already is fantastic. Keep up the good work... you'll be there before you know it! | |||

Paige -- crazy how that works, right? All we can do is remind ourselves that it will right itself again soon. Vegetariangeek -- I don't think anyone else can see it so much, but I notice it like a crazy obsessive woman. I'm a pear... so all my weight is in my ghetto-booty and my thighs. When it's "that time", I suddenly have what I feel is a Santa belly. No one else seems to see it, but it makes me so sad sometimes. |

I'm going to add a rant for a moment... Anyone else get so frustrated about weightloss during your period? In my case, I gain3 - 4 pounds in the week leading up to it and that sticks until I'm done. Once I'm done I may lose 5 -6 pounds (which is really the only time the weightloss is noticable to me), but if I just go back to where I started (or worse!) I get so discouraged. In all fairness it looks like I've lost 5 pounds and I am down to 170, but man does it just make my heart drop to see the scale fluctuate so much. |

Hi everyone! I'm 28 years old and have been trying to lose a bunch of weight I gained since college. I've lost 20 pounds so far, but at 5'3 and 175 lbs, I certainly need to lose about another 40. It's nice to see that there's other people on here in my age range trying to to do the same thing. Best of luck to all of us! |

I've been using it, and it's helpful, but there's a decent amount of email spam that comes with it. They are trying to be helpful by sending you emails about things you may need, but it's just annoying to me. Another one I like that you may want to try is www.ourweddingday.com. There seems to be no spam... just a weekly reminder of what you should be doing this far from your date. Hope this helps! |

| Foods | Did you cheat this weekend? what did you eat? | Oct 16 2007 15:43 (UTC) |

| I had a friend pass away last week, so I took the weekend off. I just ate whatever I wanted, and I didn't do too badly.
The bad parts were the cheese (and lots of it), chocolate and alcohol. However, I found that eating that stuff, I wasn't really hungry. I had some cold cuts for dinner one night, and some pasta on Sunday (and that was about it), but I think I certainly tanked in the nutritional category. However, I'm back on CC and ready to be a good girl. :o) |

| Weight Loss | Women's clothing sizes, body weights | Oct 04 2007 15:54 (UTC) |

I must have the strangest body on the planet... I'm pretty heavy for my height, but my size doesn't fluctuate too much. I'm 5'3. All through high school I was 115-120, wearing a size 7. At my heaviest I was 190 and wearing a 14 pants, 12 dress. Now I'm 170 in size 12 pants, and haven't had the opportunity to purchase a new dress yet. I'm decently muscular, but I have "ghetto-booty", so even though my waist warrants a 10, my backside only fits comfortably in a 12 (which then lends to the back-of-the-waist gappage....grr...) Why can't they do women's sizes by measurement like they do men's? |

I'm sorry to hear that your husband is having a hard time finding work. If you feel the urge to "stuff your face" to deal, maybe go for a walk?? Take your hubby with you... being outdoors is always a wonderful way to spend time and it gives you a time to do something together. And as always, you have us |

| Weight Loss | Which diet pill has worked the best for you? | Sep 10 2007 15:59 (UTC) |

I try to stay away from the pill as much as possible... though I have tried my fair share. Dexatrim (in it's various formulations) never worked, and Hydroxycut made me feel like I was ADHD... I couldn't concentrate on ANYTHING. I've just resigned myself to the fact that my body will only lose weight on its terms. Now, with diet and exercise, I lose about 1 pound every 2 weeks-ish. It's slow going, but I've lost 15 pounds, and I don't have to feel like I'm pill-popping to get there. |
