Good afternoon Ladies,

Wow how some of you ladies post remind me of my past.  I also was the big one in my group of friends in high school.  I look back at the pictures and I don't look that much different then my friends(how I wish I looked like that now).  I was a 14 all of high school I met my now husband about a year after high school and started putting on the weight.  I don't remember if people made fun of me if they did I think I blocked it out but I just remember always feeling like everyone was looking at me because I was so big.  I never really had a "date" until I started dating my husband (we were set up on a blind date). I think a big part of that was my own fault I am sure I put off a I know your not going to like me so don't even try vibe.  Anyway I just wanted to say hi but then so many of your post touched me I had to put in my 2 cents.  I hope all of you have a wonderful day.

Good morning ladies,  I am sorry I haven't posted again in awhile.  I guess I got so far behind on all the posts I didn't feel like I knew what was going on with everyone.  I wanted to try and read all that I had missed but with a 2yr old, a full time job, and a husband I haven't found the time.  I hope you guys can let me just slip back in.   Even though I haven't been posting I have been doing pretty good.  I am still doing Weight watchers and am walking almost everyday if not every day and I am down 19 lbs since January 12th I can't wait to hit 20 and I should be able to do that this week.  I hope everyone is doing good and I am really going to try and check in everyday.  I really love this thread it is so nice to be able to talk to people that understand how you feel.

Hi everyone,  it has been about two weeks since I have posted and I am so not caught up I have like 10 pages to read.  I have been really busy and haven't had a lot of time to get on here.  I hope everyone is doing good and I will try to get caught up in the next couple of days.  I just wanted to say Hi!Smile

Hi everyone,

Clothes- I have lost 13lbs and it is strange I really don't see a difference in me yet.  I am at 257.2 and still fit my 24's just fine.  I guess they feel a little better on me but I can't wait till I can get into the 22 I still have plenty of.  The good thing I can do with my bigger clothes that I haven't worn out completely (I am like dalmalama I wear my clothes especially jeans till they fall apart) My sister is bigger than me and is also losing weight so I can pass them on to her to save her money.

I started the day off really bad I have been struggling the last couple of days with eating right.  I stopped on the way to work and got burger king but I redeemed myself and ate really good for the rest of the day to stay within my goal for the day.  I am trying to get out of this funk I have been in and get back to 100% eating right.

I hope you all have a wonderful night.

Morning ladies,

I had a nice 4 day weekend with my husband and little girl but I didn't do very good I made some bad choices.  I did go weigh in and am down 1 lb for last week for a total of 13.2 but after I weighed in I started eat and I feel like I didn't stop till last night. I am back on track and really want to be down 1.8 lbs this week to be at 15 lbs.  Ok enough about me.  I haven't been on here in a couple days and had to get caught up.  I don't think I could reply about everyone's post but all of you inspire me and I can only hope I can get were you guys are with working out.  Right now I just do walking at work and I try to do more at home but it's hard with my hours I work and with my daughter.  But I guess there will always be a reason (excuse) why I can't do it so I guess i need to just get out there and move.  Like I said you guys inspire me and if you guys can do it so can I.

mladdy - I wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear about your grandpa.

allydan,  Thanks for being so kind, and I totally agree with you I think overweight people get treated with less respect especially woman.

ennazus (suzanne)  Sorry to go off on a story about me your story just brought that moment right back to me, I am sorry that someone treated you like that.  I am also very sorry about that other person taking your vacation weeks. That sucks and I hope she realizes what a jerk she is being.

ennazus520 (Suzanne) I had the same situation happen to me at work.  I have been working at my job for almost 8 yrs and my friend Char and I started on the same day and have been friends ever since.  Well (this is sad I remember the date) on January 11th I didn't bring my lunch and we usually eat lunch together.  I went to Char's desk in the morning and told her if she wanted to go somewhere for lunch let me know because I didn't have mine and I was going to go get something.  Char said well why don't you eat something small for lunch that way you don't have to go out.  I said I am a big girl I need to eat a normal lunch. She said aren't you on Weight Watchers (I was starting WW on Jan 12th) I told her I was going to be on it when I came back on Monday and she said "haven't you going to be on for the past 6 months well 6 yrs".  I got a call right then so I walked away. Later she was talking to another coworker by my desk and said to were I could hear it that "Jessica was mad at me" I turned around and told her that I wasn't mad my feelings were just a little hurt.  Any way to make a long story a little less short she apologized and I told her the truth hurts. I made a choice that day not to talk about me trying to lose weight just let people see the difference in me because that comment ruined my day. Anyway point to that story don't let people get you down, you know you are trying and that should make you feel good.

Hi ladies,

Vintagebetty,  I can really relate to you about not getting the things I know I can't control myself around.  If I do get potato chips I have been getting the light ones and I have to count out a portion.  I so can not eat (really anything) out of a bag or I just go to town.  My husband really loves Mexican food well I do too but I have been getting fajitas and trying only to eat the meat with one or two tortilla's. Well last week we got it our food to go and when I got home there was about 10 flour tortillas in the bag I have found out I can't be trusted with flour tortilla's I ate 5 or 6 of them.  I felt so bad afterwards.  I told my husband from now on if we do that again I am going to ask them to only put like 3 in the bag one for each of us.  (my 2 yr old loves them).  Sorry for the strange out of place story I think I had to just get out that I ate that many tortilla's.

Yessica,  I am in the same place I have a 2 yr old and would like to have another child.  I also would love to be at my goal weight before I get pregnant.  People have told me the same thing about why lose the weight just to put it back on but I plan on really watching what I eat when I am pregnant.  I know that there will be times when I don't always do great but I can at least try.  It took me 3 yrs to get pregnant with my little girl and I think my weight had a lot to do with that.  I was 263 lbs when I started my pregnancy at the end I was 258 and when I had her I was 233.  Nobody could believe I lost so much weight while I was pregnant everyone asked me how I did it.  I just tell people I already ate enough for two why would I have added to it.  I am really disappointed in myself that I put that weight back on but I figured out I didn't change my eating habits she was just eating the extra calories so if I would have changed my eating habits after I had her I could have kept that off.  Again sorry for the out of place story guess I just fell like sharing today.

And to any new members that I have missed, Welcome!

Afternoon ladies,

I just got back from a small walk.  I walk 1/2 mile (well its a little more than 1/2 mile) 2 times a day on my 15 min breaks at work.  I had a bad day yesterday I was so hungry all day and I ate about 500 calories more than I should have.  I seem to be doing much better today.  Just wanted to check in.  I hope everyone is having a good day.  Oh and ingy12 I am sending you lots of good vibes.

Hi Ladies,

I hope you all had a good weekend.  I had a pretty good one.  I went to WW and weighed I ended up losing 2 lbs so I am officially in the 250's (258.2).  I never thought I would be happy to be in the 250's now I can't wait for the 240's.  I do have a problem with my eating on the weekends,  I do really good during the week while I am at work but on the weekends I don't get as much water in as I should or as many fruits and veggies as I should.  I have changed to where I only eat one big meal a day on the weekend days instead of 3 big meals so I guess that is good.

Mladdy - Hang in there you will get through this valley.  I am really sorry to hear about your grandpa.  On the other hand congrats on getting under 200, I can't wait for that day.

allydan - you are so very nice and helpful not to say that the rest of you ladies aren't because you are (you are all great)but Allydan just seems to have a gift for saying just the right thing.

Ennazus520 -  Thank you for being so encouraging and sweet.

Lyssy311 - I totally understand where you are coming from with not having a lot of time. I am 29 married have a 2 yr old little girl and I work about 40 min from home and most days work 9 hours.  I try to get in walking when I can but just changing how you eat and the amounts you eat can really help get the weight off.  I have lost 12.4 lbs in 4 weeks mostley from just eating better.  I really think you will find this group helpful.

Liz78 & tarawands - Welcome to the group and good-luck with you weight loss.

turkngrl - thanks for the encouraging words.  I had a better week than I thought and I am sure you will have a great week this week.

missfaybel - You will get those 3 lbs off again we all have our ups and downs.  And congrats on the new house.

I hope all of you have a wonderful week and I will be checking in as often as I can.

feddiechick, believe me I have been in you place too many time to count and I always end up giving in and giving up on me and my health and trying to do good.  Try and hang in there I know it is hard.  I am blessed that my mom and sisters and one of my friends are trying to lose weight with me.  My husband on the other hand is not there yet.  He says he want to lose weight but then he want to go out to eat all the time and wants snacks in the house.  The good thing is I have been cooking a lot lately trying to make healthier things to eat so he is eating better he just doesn't realize it so much.  For the snacks I try and get him to eat the 100 cal packs and if I do get something that is not good for him I try to make it something I don't like so I won't be tempted to eat it.  I hope you all have a great day.

Good morning/almost afternoon ladies,

I have been trying to read all the post (I'm at work) and keep up with everyone.  I love that everyone post so often, I am on another thread and it seems to be getting less and less people posting so I was happy to see that everyone is so involved on this one.

I don't think I am going to have a good loss this week.  I went last night and bought a scale (I haven't had one in my house since I moved out of my parents house 9 1/2 yrs ago) and it doesn't look like I lost anything this week but I will find out for-sure tomorrow.  My official weigh-in is Saturday mornings at Weight Watchers.  I did pretty much everything right this week I think part of my problem is this is my cycle week.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

My name is Jessica and I am 29 yrs old (almost to old for this group).  I have been on this site for over 5 months but didn't really start trying to lose the weight until this month.  I joined Weight watchers and have been walking.  My start weight was 270.6 lbs on jan 12.  I have lost 10.4 lbs and am now down to  206.2 lbs.  I would like to be around 150 or 160.  my short term goal is get into the 240's. I was telling my sister I don't feel like I have accomplished much until I get there because the only time I have been in the 240s is going  through them to got to 250 - 260.  My goal after 240s is 199 by Oct I have a wedding to go to and I don't see my Family much they live in NH and MA (I was born there) and I live in TX.  I want to look a lot different to them I see them about 1 or 2 times a year.  I am glad I found this thread.  I hope everyone has a great week.

Watchmeshine,

I don't think wanting to meet a guy is bad at all.  I am kind of on the other end I am married, we have been married almost 6 yrs and together for almost 11 yrs.  I was around 160 when we started dating. Part of my motivation is wanting to look good for him.  He has never said anything to make me feel like he doesn't think I am pretty now(he is overweight too) but I just feel that way.  I also have a wedding in Oct I am trying to lose weight for. I am not in the wedding but I live in TX and my extended family all live in MA or NH (I was born there) and only see me one or two times a year so I really want to look different at the wedding. Those two things and I really do want to be healthier for me, my daughter (who is 2) and my whole family's sake are my motivations.

Well I went and weighed in on Saturday I didn't do great last week I think because when I am sick I don't like to drink water so I didn't get my waters in or a lot of fruits and veggies.  I am back at work this week, I still don't feel 100 % at all but I am bound and determined to have a better week.  I did lose but only .6 lbs but at least I didn't gain.

good afternoon everyone, I have been home sick with the flu the past 3 days and am ready to get out of here.  I was so happy to see people posting again.

Watchmeshine I totally understand feeling overwhelmed with how much weight I need to loose I would like to lose a total of 120 to put me at 150lbs.  But if I look at it that way how could it not be overwhelming.  I just started Weight Watchers and they say to make your first goal to lose 10% of your weight (I really like WW and hope you do to when you start it).  I think making smaller goals will help you not feel so overwhelmed and I wish I had the will power that you have to work such long hours and still work out.  I really think you are doing great and I hope you can keep it up.  I also hope you continue to post here we all understand what you are going through to a point and I hope we can all help you and each other.  Welcome and hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks Livefree!  I like Weight Watchers for me because it give me some kind of structure and accountability.  6.4 is a very big number to lose but it was because it was my first week I will be happy if I can average 1.8lbs a week.  I just like going to stand in-front of someone and getting on the scale.  I also like the meetings and how the program works.  I also hope paying for it makes me stick with it.  My cousins wedding in Oct really helps me focus on something too.

Well I went back to Weight Watchers on Saturday and I couldn't believe it I lost 6.4lbs last week. It made me feel so good to finally lose something.  I know I am not going to have a lot of weeks with that big of a loss but it just helped me see that I can do this.  I hope all you ladies have a great week.

weight as of 1/12/08 270.6

I have been doing really good this week and hope to continue.  I really want to be down at least 50 lbs by Oct when I go up north for my cousins wedding.  (Really I would like to be at least 199 but we will see)  I hope we can keep this thread going I really enjoy hearing from everyone.

Beth it seems like you are doing really good and I hope you can keep it up.  I on the other hand have made up my mind that I am going back to weight watchers at the beginning of the year.  I need to have to go stand in-front of another person to make myself do it I guess.  I would go now but with Christmas and then right after that is my daughters birthday so the second weekend in January I will be going but I will also keep up with you guys and this thread. I hope everyone is back for the new year.  Anyways I hope all have a great Christmas and New year I will be checking in a little later.

Beth I hope you make you goal of 15lbs in Dec.  That is a big goal but it sounds like you have it in you to do it.

I just don't seem to be able to do it.  I really want to and think at the beginning of everyday that I can do it then I seem to always end up doing bad. I do pretty good during the day when I am at work then I get home and am tired from my 11 hour day and end up eating bad for dinner.  This is a vent sorry.  I will continue to try and hopefully one day (soon) do better.
