| Weight Loss | SLim Fast DIet success so far. | Nov 02 2007 14:34 (UTC) |

I don't do the slimfast diet, but I do like to drink the Kroger brand, slimrite ultima (20 calories less and more protien) twice a day, the first one about 30 minutes before I do my cardio workout and another one on my way home from work. Drinking the one on the way home from work helps me to not pig out while I'm cooking dinner, or to impulse buy at the grocery if I stop there first on my way home. It doesn't fill me up or keep me full, but it does take the edge off any hunger pains I may have. Good luck to all of you in reaching your goals. ~Brigid |

deflepfan, I totally feel your pain. I had two impacted wisdom teeth removed a little over a year ago. Worst pain in my life and I've given birth 4 times and let me tell you, I'd rather give birth. I missed two weeks of work, and was still swollen when I went back to work. Lived on cooled scrambled eggs, kraft macaroni and cheese and french fries, mashed potatoes, stuff you didn't have to chew and could swallow whole if you had too. Also ate a lot of yogurt and baby food. I managed to avoid the dry sockets but I ended up with an infection and had to be reopened up 6 months later after several months of feeling like I was being such a baby complaining of constant pain. You are young so you should bounce back pretty fast. Don't worry about your exercising yet, eat what you can and give your body the rest it needs to recover. Good luck. ~Brigid |

Does chasing my dog around the neighborhood count? J/K, lol. We think Tucker is a beagle/jack russell mix, but we're not really sure. We adopted him last year and he's just a bundle of energy, always on the go, pestering our cat and our birds, destroying his toys (which is a major improvement from his eating our new couch). He likes to go for walks in the neighborhood and thinks every man, woman, child and animal he encounters should be his friend. He enjoys walking the trails at the park near our house the best, so we try to get to the park a couple times a week. I'll try to post some pics in my profile. ~Brigid |

| I drink the Kroger SlimRite Ultimate Chocolate Royale...it is 20 calories less than SlimFast Optima and has less sugar and more protien. I'm not much of a morning eater, either, so I usually drink one can after my morning workout or on my way to work. I tried to do that 2 cans a day, one healthy meal thing, but that did not work out for me. I'd rather just incorporate this into one of my 'healthy' snacks. | |||

I know I'm too scared to try it, that's for sure, and I'm the 'magic pill' queen. I think I've tried just about everything.....only thing I ever had good luck with was Phen/phen, went from 210lb to 110lb in about 8 months, along with working out 4 times a week with a personal trainer and having a nutritionist, and had to force myself to eat on that stuff (you really could 'eat just one Lays potato chip, lol). That was 10 years ago, didn't gain all that weight back, but did end up 160l plus. Dang I miss that stuff....never had any side effects from it and after it was banned the doc tested me for microvalve prolapse and a host of other things....didn't find anything wrong, thank goodness. Closest thing to a 'magic pill' I've ever seen. ~Brigid |

I have to say that I have enjoyed this topic tremendously and hope it doesn't get removed. I've been laughing and smiling from the beginning......what a great way to start the day. Sure hope this doesn't get removed, and yes.....have to admit, I'm a little jealous too ;) What a HOOT! Tree, I think you have to actually ingest 'it' for the calories to count. I would definetly not worry about it. Besides, you've probable burned more calories in those 8 times then I'll burn walking 3 miles on the treadmill, lol ~Brigid |

| 5'1 1/2"(almost), though I tend to tell people I'm 5'2". Medium build, and I'd love to weigh between 110 and 115, but I'll be happy with 120/125. Shoot, at this point, 130lbs would make me jump for joy. | |||

I haven't thought about PGA in years. Now I'll have to see if our nearest liquer store carries it, lol, just for the fun of it and maybe to revisit my youth. In the warmer months, I like Vodka and Tonic or light beer. In the cooler months I'm more a bourbon/whiskey girl, either with coke or water. I'm not a big fan of diet coke, so if I'm gonna splurge, it's gonna be on the 'Real Thing'.....classic coke all the way. I haven't had a coke in over 3 weeks, nothing but water or skim milk.

I'm here because I've slowly regained a lot of the weight I lost 10 years ago and I don't like the way my clothes fit and I hate clothes shopping. I started exercising on my own, at home in May, and though I noticed that my clothes fit a bit better, I wasn't losing any weight.....good news was, I wasn't gaining weight either, so that showed me that the exercise had to be helping at least some. I stumbled on this site when I was googling exercising information. I wanted to bump up my workout and get new ideas as I was getting bored and discouraged. Figured I had nothing to lose (but maybe some weight, lol) so I joined and started writing down what I was eating.....man, was that an eye opener. I kept a notebook with me and everytime I ate something I wrote it down (calorie info and stuff if it was available). I was eating stuff without even thinking about it.....then I started adding up the calories....reason I wasnt losing weight was that I was eating calories needed to maintain the weight I was. That's when I decided to really put my effort in and I've now lost a little more then 4 pounds. I have found that if i eat something nutritious every couple hours then I don't tend to lose all will power at night when I get home from work. If I'm starving when I come home from work I'll make a decent caloried sandwich instead of putting a tombstone pizza in the oven or grazing thru the cabinets and frig. |

| santonacci, having nutritional information readily available (and accurate) is a good idea. That would help me out so much, on those rare occasions I go out to eat, when logging my calories each day. | |||

| Have to say I'm opposed to this idea. The government is way too involved in our personal lives as it is, and things that start out with good intentions (as your idea) end up getting blown out of proportion and taken to the extreme. No, I don't want the government imposing new taxes and new laws.....and I work for the government, lol | |||

The other day one of my co-workers saw my lunch bag in the frig and said 'gosh, Brig, for someone who says she's on a diet you sure bring a lot of food'. I told her she was absolutely correct, that I was trying to eat something every couple hours so I wouldn't binge later in the day, and that I knew exactly how many calories were in that lunch bag. This is a girl who carries nothing but bags of candy in her backpack, eats cheese fries daily, and complains how much weight she has gained. And to top off her remark she kept taking chocolate out of her pocket all day long waving it in my face saying 'come on Brig, it's chocolate, you know you want some'. Royally pissed me off. I wouldn't have taken a piece of chocolate if I was hormonal or if my life depended on it. (well, at least not in front of her, lol). I've decided to not only to get healthy and at a better weight for myself, but also out of revenge and spite, lol. Gonna use her as a motivational tool. |

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
