Zeb that is fantastic! I know when I started gaining my mom commented on me "looking better" and at first I was annoyed and then when I actually thought about it I smiled and said, "your right mom I look hot!!" haaa...and I finally had my butt back haaa... I am proud of you girl! |

Thanks Mariposasola1 for the insightful response! Thanks Chirrp for your 2 cents as far as the maintaining and increasing cals goes. Today I added a cup of pineapple to my morning fiber cereal. And lunch will probably be a wrap again or an egg omelet with veggies and I brought an apple to work for an added boost. Thanks for the advice, more is always appreciated! Ladies you are amazing with replying!!! THANK YOU!! Lala- I love the break down!!! That really puts it in perspective!! Agruskin- thanks for understanding my issues as of lately and helping me to become more healthy when viewing food and understanding the process. Your idea with adding yogurt sounds good...I do love vanilla!! Or maybe I could add real vanilla to real plain yogurt, has anyone tried this? I guess I can play around with new ideas. Yes, pretzels are my favorite, I buy the whole wheat ones though so atleast that is a good thing. And treats I am still trying to work on adding in slowly, not much of a sweet tooth, but I do love dark chocolate!! Thanks for the calorie breakdown!!! |

Wow, Zebulancherry you really helped with that post. Thanks so much. I definitely will try adding more proteins and mixing the snacks with something extra. I am not a huge fan of cottage cheese, but the yogurt with fruit and nuts sounds good. Breakfast is hard considering I have an office job, but yes I will try to bring something a little more hearty in the mornings. Oatmeal works!! Thanks so much for the help so far. I truly am grateful!! And yay...you are so knowledgeable about clean eating, I just picked up the Tosco Reno book so I am learning to replace certain things, it is a lifestyle change, but that is my overall goal!!!:) |

Hey ladies...I'm glad to be back too! Lala- I think I am taking in around 1400-1600 a day, not too sure because I try not to count still. Mostly working on my healthy fats from nuts and protein from lean meats, as I already eat tons of carbs from whole wheat foods. Any suggestions, I love reading your posts? Agruskin- I am maintaining at around 120-122 but that is a healthy weight I do believe for someone at 5'7. But I have also made a vow to myself not to weigh daily at any cost but more like once a week or so. And I just turned 23!!! I do agree that I deal with coping through foods. And you are right I should think about me. Right now life is just all so crazy. I am buying a condo, learning to enjoy the single life, letting go of my 5 year bf due to him moving to another state for a job, and trying to balance work and home too. Everything is up in the air, thus why I feel out of control. About my meal plan what do you ladies think? What should I do differently? I normally give great advice, but not to myself haaa....

| I'm back! Well I haven't been gone really, just MIA. I have just recently been so busy with a new job and dealing with family issues and a breakup. I honestly haven't even really had time to come on here and count like usual. But I have been maintaining and making sure to eat atleast 1500 to 1800 per day. I was up a pound this morning from my usual weigh in, but I think that could have something to do with totm or my teryaki sause I used last night haaa...
How is everyone? I am so glad we have new members joining! Anyway, maintanence is rockin right now! |

| Hey everyone, it has been a hell of a week.
Lets just say my breakup caused me to drop about 4 pounds and now I am trying to boost the calories to get to maintanence. I guess it is just so hard to force them down when there is clearly no appetite. But I am managing and I actually stopped today to get a coffee smoothie for a snack so that was delish. Great to hear about your progress RASPBERRY. My job is actually allowing me not to focus on cals so much, there is just so many catered events and long hours that it causes me to bring snacks and to munch all day in order to have energy, which is a great thing. I am learning that weighing daily and exercising daily is harder now that I am working so much, but as long as a take a walk at night and maintain my intake I will be okay I think. I really am hoping this is my bodies way of figuring things out.... Hope everyone has a great week! |

Anyway, managed to break out of my ed mindset over the weekend and celebrate with the girls for my new job with cosmos! Hope everyone is thriving this week! |

| Hey everyone...just checking in.
Great to hear you are doing well pumpkin! I have had a breakup this past week so I am forcing to hold my weight at maintanence without going under...I lost about 4 pounds in a day, but am managing to eat up to my intake level...ughhhh no appetite bites when my mom goes grocery shopping! Aiming for 1500 at least. |

| Irish- I wouldn't worry on losing, I would stay at the 2000 level for a while and see if you can maintain on that, then eventually when you feel like you are perfectly stable, maybe you could add in a bit more exercise or something, or maybe then go back down to the 1800. I think that when our bodies recover they really need to be proven that we are not planning on starving them again.
Me- I am stabilizing at the same weight, although my scales are about 4 pounds difference, so not sure which one to record. But right now I am honestly just focusing on eating normally and often and healthy foods. I am hitting at least maintanence most days, but have had problems working out due to a new job that started this week so I haven't been eating more to make up for it. All in all I am managing to realize where my body wants to be.....lets stay here for a while before changing anything. How is everyone? |

As far as a healthy range what is your weight right now (when you received your period)? Maybe I could help you, I got mine back at around 112-115 I think. I am so proud of you! But you are taller than me so... |

| Welcome RASPBERRY! I know that food control can be what seems like a way of us controling our lives, but you can turn this around. I would start eating atleast 1200 and then up them from there. I jumped from 1000 to 1600 and noticed water weight, but then it stablized, good luck!
Deflepfan- I am sorry that you are going through some struggles lately. What do you believe is causing the binges? Are you still restricting somewhat? I know this is the case with most people. Keep pushing you can do this! Irish- Yes so my daily fluctuations are soo funny, I weighed on my parents 2 scales today to see how similiar they were from mine, and then were both 4 pounds lower than mine. What gives? This goes to show how stupid it is to weigh and base our moods on that number...nope not me, I'm totally done with numbers. I think I am just going to weigh for the heck of it to stay at maintanence, but make sure I am eating and eating up to my intake...life is not measuring ourselves on the scales......but I do think that I will be keeping my fingers crossed with you also! |

| Hey everyone...well good news is I start my new job tomorrow and I went shopping today to get my mind off of MR IDIOT! What is it about guys that want to continue to call and text after breaking your heart? Ughh...anyway another form of good news is that this hasn't really affected my appetite as much as I thought. I mean I guess I am forcing myself to eat, but atleast I am right!!
Dire, Torpidire, Gibbit, Ilovechai, and anyone else who responded...you ladies made me feel so much better. I know that I am not alone, and I know that other girls have gone through this, heck even I have done breakups, I guess it is just because we were suppose to get engaged this summer...anyway...what is meant to be will be right? Keep pushing ladies! |

| I am right there with you IRISH, I am not meaning to sound upsite or anything with these little fluctuations, I mean that is what maintaining is about right? It is just so weird how the body works. I do however believe that we definitely do need to come to this forum for help with maintaining. Many people maintain on different amounts of calories, but finding that amount is what matters most. I guess I am just frustrated sometimes trying to do so.
Anyway, with that being said, no one should feel like they need to leave this thread due to peoples statements of weighing in daily. Many people weigh in daily, as long as you are not using this to change your mood then I don't see anything wrong with it. Maintanence should be a five or so pound range anyway. Personally, I come on this thread to help myself and chat with others about maintanence issues and concerns, sometimes they are frustrating topics to discuss, and sometimes they are happy ones. But I do not believe that this thread was created for those trying to gain or lose, just to maintain. Like you LALA- I come here to support and encourage people to up their calories. |

| Sorry everyone for not posting...I am/was doing so well, and then my boyfriend of 4 years tells me today that he just can't do the long distance anymore between us....gosh I am so done crying, but where do I go from here? I have finally nipped this ed, but now I am out of control and lost..I know that I am independent and that I can change my life for the better, but now I just feel like a failure....he was the one that took me to get help, and I know that I have been in recovery for a year now, but I feel so alone right now. | |||

| I don't really know how to respond other than the fact I feel the same exact way. I have been gaining since my period (about 5 pounds) for a week now. I thought it might be bc I got a new puppy (lack of sleep) and stress from a new job. But my days have been filled the same, same exercise, same foods, same calories (1500), so why would I be gaining that much either?
I am honestly blaming the sleep... Not sure? |

| Well I think what it comes down to is do you think you would be able to do this on your own? If not, then you should seek the nutritionist. I had one (also not covered by my insurance) during my anorexia recovery and she made me meal plans and it made me feel accountable because I had to bring in my plans to her so that she could keep me on track weekly. If you find that someone pushing you along might help, then I would say go for it. It helped me tons. | |||

Yesterday I ended up stuffing my face with late night snacks....gosh I guess this just makes me feel more comfortable getting the cals, but leaves my tummy bloated. Anyway, hope all of you are doing great today.....and remember: " FOOD IS THE ONLY TRUE THING THAT NOURISHES", isn't this a great quote? Makes me think! B- pumpkin pancakes, apple, coffee :) |

| Aussie- LILY loves you! HAAA...I told her about you (haaa). Anyway, hope you are thriving at life today girl!!
Torpidire- I love baking myself too, and I know that it is hard in a dorm, but you can always go to the cafeteria and use the buffet to make a healthy option of your own. I use to go to the cafeteria and use the salad bar to make a nice healthy sandwich or wrap that they had beside the salad station. You don't always have to go for the premade things. But remember you are only in college once...live, eat, and be merry!! Tori- same to you my love, keep doing what you are doing and pushing this ed to the curb!! And as far as the comments of people telling you that you look better, seriously try to take this positively, bc that is what they mean...skeleton= nasty....<3!! I am doing well actually...having a bit of a time maintaining this week, but hopefully it will all settle down soon! |

| Please stop this pattern before it is too late. I am a college grad, but when I went to school I actually lost weight without even realizing it because I was studying and making healthy choices. Please stop with the laxatives. This is not recovery, this is not the way out. I am so glad that you have turned here for help, but remember that you are making a new change in your life and starting a new year, do you really want to be out with friends and have issues due to the laxatives? Do you really want to carry this demon all through school when you were doing so well?
I know that moving can be frustrating and cause anxiety, but you can use this for your benefit. Pour the bottle down the toilet and go have yourself a healthy snack. There are healthy options, don't allow yourself to hurt your body like this anymore. You seem strong...prove it to yourself and your body! |

| Okay I am frustrated haa..I know I shouldn't weigh in everyday, but I probably took in around 1400 yesterday (due to being insanely busy) and I am up another pound...wtf? I thought this would level off. I don't mind it as much because I don't look any different, but the thing is that I had a set goal that I wanted to accomplish and now I am past that by 6 pounds. Should I aim for 1600 today? Or should I just eat my BMR (1400)? I was maintaining fine on the newer higher intake and then ever since my period I have jumped up like crazy...this can't be normal. I am not sure what to do? I am not letting it get to me, but other than increased sodium I can't really understand what is going on. Could it be the handful of almonds I have been adding in daily for the past week? I didn't think it could make that big of a difference because I only eat about 150 cals worth of them at a time. This is crazy...
Anyway, I am going to remain positive and go out and strut my stuff tonight with my best friend at a bar. I really do love my body, I just really want to learn this maintanence thing and I feel like I am failing at it at times. It really is complicated. But then again it wouldn't been worth trying if it wasn't healthy and a lifestyle change. (Haven't heard from the interview lady yet....keeping my fingers crossed!) |

I would definitely not be worried about the cellulite though, even the smallest natural women have cellulite and you are so healthy right now so I would definitely not let it consume you and lead to negative thoughts. I use firming lotions, not sure if they really work, but it works for my mind so why not? HAA!! |
