Too hard to choose, I love all veggies. I steam, saute, or bake. I never boil or nuke, as it tends to leave them soggy and tasteless. I love to have left over steamed veggies with cottage cheese for breakfast or lunch. Add some salsa for a yummy punch! Don't knock it tell you try it! |

| I am one of those "older" women, (44) and I feel intimidated by you young people. LOL! So if you think other women are judging you, well some are - that's life. BUT most are admiring you for starting to take care of yourself & starting to develope a healthy life style at such a young age. Stay positive and be friendly. You never know, one of those older women may have a handsome son! | |||

I have had this discussion with a friend of mine that is very overweight. She claims fresh fruit and veggies, grains, nuts, etc. are more than her processed 'instant' food. But what she fails to realize is that the processed crap has less nutrition thus leaving her less satisfying leading her to eat more, which ultimately will cost the same if not more, which leads to more medical bills because she is being threatened with heart disease and diabetes. Sorry about the rant, I love my friend...but she doesn't get it. |

I feel for you with the kids snacks and no time thing. I don't have kids myself, so not much help. I do understand the lack of energy feeling. I was once told by a trainer that exercising when you feel low energy is the best time to do it. It is hard for the first 15min., but then your energy should kick in, and you will feel great afterwards. I know it's hard, but go through the motions of getting dressed and set up...then you won't have an excuse not too. I like your idea of sipping on something. I'm going to go make some tea. Thanks, and good luck. |

Hey kari3, I don't go to a gym. I know I should, but always get intimidated and feel like I should be in shape to work out there. Ya know? I just bought a mini trampoline but as the crap made in China goes, one of the legs is damaged so I have to wait for them to send me a replacement. I'm trying. Do you have any equipment at home? My suggestion on food restrictions is NOT to have any of the forbidden foods around to tempt you. I keep fat-free instant jello pudding on hand for sweet, creamy cravings, and add in a little protein powder for nutritional value. My problem is late night snacking. no matter what I eat throughout the day, I still want to eat at night. Help! |

meena3 I feel your pain, only my vis is wine. But don't give up just yet, I'm not. (Although tomorrow is my birthday and there is a bottle of wine in the rack with my name on it!) I, like you, have been weak in the exercise department. I am planning on giving myself a gift of either workout equipment or join a gym. I hope that will motivate me to find the time to workout. Try incorporating in some exercise with your kids.??? Just a thought. Stick in there, those pounds will drop. You have lost 4, that is great! |

malia 1 - rum martini? Never tried that. Sounds sweet. Anyone ever had Chopin vodka? Belvedere is goooood as well. Drinking tons of water before bed is a must, no matter how much I have drank. It really helps to not feel the effects in the morning. I've tried the glass of water alternate thing. It just doesn't go well with wine. Ya know? |

This tread is awesome. It takes so much guilt off knowing that others are fighting the wonderful temptation of drink! I use to work in the rest/bar business and know how hard refusing that drink after work can be. After a long busy shift, nothing is better! Then I go and marry a European. They have a much different attitude towards drinking. I learned to have a drink at home with dinner. (I never use to drink at home). Starting CC has really helped me to cut back. Counting all those calories just in alcohol...scarey. I wish I could trust myself just to have a small glass of wine with dinner, but it is so easy to keep going. Not to mention fun. Food really is wonderful with a lovely glass of wine. And nothing is better after a stressfull day then a good ol dirty martini! |

Hey marathon gal, I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like you are getting a lot of exercise, and if your partner is handing you only one cup of goodies then it is a limited cheat. I have read a lot about giving yourself one day of cheating, so you don't feel like you can NEVER have those forbidden foods, which leads us to total binging. One cup of forbidden food is not going to hurt you. The key here is moderation. livelovelaugh51, I, like you don't eat meat, but do have an occasional fish just to get some protein in, thus a "pescartarian". LOL. However, where I live the fish isn't fresh so it is an odd occasion that I will partake. My problem is that I am trying to cut back on carbs, and am having a hard time doing this without getting enough protein in. Any suggestons? (I don't drink milk, but do eat dairy products) thanks |

Hey everyone, this thread seems to have quieted down. Is it because it's the weekend? Or am I in the wrong place? Any other vegetarians in this group? Kat |

Me too! Tilt, pain, no answers. The pain would bring me to my knees - literally, when I ran. the doc told me "then don't run". It still comes and goes but not nearly as bad as when I was in my early 20s. Maybe it was a cyst exploding like xochitl92113. I am going to a new doc tomorrow and will bring this up. Something has to give! |

The rebounder sounds great. How is it on your knees? I have bad knees from being a runner and now can only power walk without ending up in pain. I am always looking for new cardio workouts. Thanks |
