My cocker, Chai, absolutely loves to roll around in my wet hair after I shower. He will do this also with the towel I used to dry myself off. He likes to sleep with his head on my pillow and with his back against my back (I sleep on my side).

My pug, Bella, will lay down at the edge of my bed and place herself in front of the floor fan to sleep. Even if she is in deep sleep, if the fan is moved, she will readjust so she is in front of the fan again.

I had a cat who discovered that he could pee in the bathroom sink and that his pee would go down the drain without him having to cover it up.. yup. He would do that 'trick' often. Gross.

I don't even get along with pg and I think she should stay.

Is it just me or has moderation gotten a bit more extreme on this site lately?

and yet people who compare homosexuality to alcoholism and bestiality get to stay?    grr.

I am SERIOUSLY disappointed by ^ this. I had to use some extreme will power to refrain from giving the poster who made this offensive comparison a piece of my mind.. There are many other posters who are crude and rude, yet one of CC's better members is the one who goes.

This is really not OK.

Health & Support Numbness in my hand Aug 12 2009

About 10 years ago I noticed some numbness in my hands and back (around the shoulder blades) but because it wasn't painful I didn't really feel the need to see a doctor. The numbness would be most apparent at the end of my work day or whenever I had been sitting at my desk (working at the computer) for too long.

After about 6 - 12 months of no pain, my condition worsened due to extreme stress at work. In addition to being numb pretty much all the time, I developed torticollis. My neck had become so stiff from stress, that I couldn't sit, sleep or dress myself. I finally saw a neurologist who diagnosed me with having 2 herniated cervical discs. As it turns out, it's a hereditary condition that will eventually require surgery. I was given medication (no steroids!), physical therapy, and wore a neck brace for a month. I was encouraged to lose weight and exercise (which I have!) and haven't had any further issues. I do have the occasional pain here and there but it is certainly manageable.

I would suggest having it checked out before it becomes something serious.

Hello all.. Wow, everyone is doing so great!!

I haven't weighed in for the last couple of weeks so I don't have a current 'last weight' but here is today's!

LW: ????
CW: 144.4
GW: 130.0

I've joined another group on CC that is for girls who are 5'4" tall, weigh in at 145 or so and want to get down to 130lbs.. I'm hoping joining another group will give me the motivation I need to get back to counting, logging, eating right and exercising.. wish me luck!

Linz, it's great to have you back and so motivated!!

You are my exact twin!! I'm sure that you'll make 130lbs by your goal date, I hope I do too!!

Shauna, Friday weigh-ins will work fine for me. Anyone have any objections? I can do it any day of the week really..

Just wanted to point out to those that suggested the OP consume whey protein powder and egg whites to increase her protein levels, that the girl is a VEGETARIAN. Although some vegetarians are actually lacto ovo vegs, I understood from her posts that she is not so whey and eggs may be out of the question.

I would suggest looking for soy based protein powders to increase your protein intake.

Morning all!!

What do you guys think of setting an official weigh in day (weekly) for our little group? I have done this in the past with different groups and found it to be extremely motivating! Let me know what you think and what would be a good day for everyone...

Peachydot, you should be very proud of what you have accomplished!! I'm sorry to hear you had a bad fitting yesterday... have you looked into getting form fitting undergarments? I would also suggest watching your carbs and sodium, as well as avoid changing your exercise regime too much in the next few weeks as all could promote water retention.. I am sure you will be a beautiful bride!!

I would suggest doing all of the following:

  1. buying a body contouring undergarment
  2. take the dress to a seamstress (or the bridal shop were you bought it) to have it taken out - every bit helps!
  3. Watching your sodium and simple carbs consumption..

This is a far fetched idea but would you consider talking to the shop again about having them take back the ordered dress and you buying the sample instead? this is assuming the sample is in good condition. I would pressure them into giving you a better deal too..

Hope it works out for you..

Mine is a dark brown floating night stand and the following items can be found on it at any given time:

A lamp
A couple of remote controls
Glass with water
Blackberry (ugh, I know!)
Various hair things (head band, rubber bands, hair pins, etc)

Relax. It could be a number of things - your period, you're retaining water after high sodium consumption, you're constipated, etc. Just keep doing what you're doing and things should get back to normal soon.

Hey peachydot, welcome to our little group!! is it your wedding that's coming up? I am a wedding planner in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and know all too well the pressure everyone (women especially!) is under when it comes to weddings...

Given enough time and with a little determination on our parts, we should see some great results!!

Morning all! Welcome devious and christina!!

Shauna, I think I will also aim for 1400cals per day. My sedentary burn is of 1620, so assuming I can burn off a couple hundred more from exercise every day, I should be able to see a small deficit.

I also have a hard time with working out because I can easily get bored.. I dislike going to the gym because I feel boxed in! I like doing stuff outdoors but admit I enjoy doing pilates and yoga from a DVD while at home.. jajaja no one can see me in a weird pose if I'm at home, right?

I will update my journal later on with today's menu and exercise plan.. Laughing

Hi Shauna!!

Well, you are doing much better than I am in the exercise department.. I was swimming, jogging and lifting free weights up until a few months ago but I have completely stopped! I work from home and lately my motivation is waning.. I love the idea of checking in but would also like to keep in check through our journals.. how does that sound?

Hope you're having a nice Sunday!

I actually like jewels' suggestion. Your friend will likely not call you to talk about what happened but I believe it might be comforting for her to know that you care.

Your friend is definitely going through a difficult time. I try to keep in mind that when things like this happen, people tend to feel shame and guilt. Having someone from your past reach out and offer their support, may alleviate some of this pain.

Yoda, did you by chance change your Goal Date? like toad99 mentioned, this may explain why the calorie limit was lowered when you updated your info this last time.

My gf is a chef - she went through a work-study program at a culinary school in NY. The school she went to no longer offers the work-study program but I would imagine other schools offer the same. Why not look into this option?

Like others have said, you may benefit from first doing a stage at a restaurant so you can check out what it's like to work in a professional kitchen. This experience may help clarify things for you a bit...

Good luck!
