I should really respond in this post more often!!  I don't want the thread to die.  Today is weigh-in day!  3 more pounds gone - 20 pounds total so far.  How about everybody else?

Thanks you guys!!  I don't have any secrets.  In fact, I'm a little stunned myself.  I eat anywhere between 1400-1600 calories a day and my BMR is 2060.  That's about a 500 cal deficit a day, which would be about 1lb a week.  When I exercise, it's not much and not often...just walking a 20 min. mile (3mph)which according to CC, burns about 111 calories.  I'm sure the weight loss will slow down soon but for now, I'm just going to go with it.  17lbs. gone since 9/11 - 66 more to go.

Ok here's an update ~

Start weight - 228 (9/11/07)

Current Weight - 211 (10/23/07)

Goal Weight - 145ish

I have lost 17 lbs!  66lbs to go.  I have a mini-goal of 199lbs by 1/1/08.  That was based on losing about 1-2lbs a week.  That's only 11 more lbs in 10 weeks. I might have been a little conservative though, because I have been averaging about 3-4 lbs a week.  Hmmm...I might need to rethink my goal a little.  How is everyone else doing?

So how is everyone doing?  I lost 5 pounds this last week!  BUT...I've been pretty sick.  Just laying around, not eating much, and not exercising at all.  Definitely not a good way to lose it but hey...5lbs. is 5lbs.

So share with me!  I want stories and updates!  Smile

Thanks Guys!  I'm pretty proud of him.  He's been doing this for about 5 years and he loves it!  My #1 rule is that school comes first!  If the grades drop, so does the acting.  He's maintaining all A's.  He's got a few small parts in some movies coming out pretty soon.

Thanks for letting me share!

I absolutely have a daily indulgence!!  I eat one square of Dove dark chocolate every singe day.  A serving is 5 pieces at 210 cals.  My 1 little piece is only 42 cals.  Totally worth it!

Wow ~ so many replies!  This is great!!  Well, not great that we need to lose that much, but great that we can keep each other motivated!  Yay us!!  Smile

I didn't walk today - I was just too damn tired.  Trying to fight off the cold that's coming on.  No excuse though...in the morning, it's two miles for me!  I did manage to drink almost twice as much water as I usually do.  I also didn't eat nearly enough today.  I just wasn't hungry.  So how are you doing with it?  Everyone still hanging tough?

Oh .... my.

Confession time.

I have bookmarked a link to a website that has a photo section called "food porn" .... nothing inappropriate or sexual .... just photos of really bad-for-you foods.

(I once spent 20 minutes looking at bacon-wrapped tater tots.... sigh)

OMG!! That is hilarious!!  LOL  So...um...wanna share the website?  Wink

Wow ~ This is great that there are others with similar goals!  We should definitely keep this thread going and support each other!

cjrottum - Your current weight of 199 is my first mini goal...gotta get under that damn 200 mark!  I also have a huge problem with late night snacking.  We eat dinner at 6:30pm and I am usually up until 1 or 2 am.

crazygal - 5'6" and a goal of 140-150 ~ just like me!!  I'm glad you edited your goal date.  I saw the first one and thought - whoa girl are you crazy?!?  LOL

moozoo - Don't you just hate that late night thing?!?  So what are your goals?

joji - Brushing your teeth after eating is a great idea!  I try to chew on a few mints in the evening - sort of the same concept.

eanoe - Way to go on the working out!  I'm only accomplishing brisk walking for now but am working my way up to jogging/running.

I have a question for you guys.  When you came across this website, did you feel like you finally found what you needed?  You know, like it just felt right?  I did! Smile

Pixyz -  I thought Shannon lives in Utah? She might live here in Riverside?  I am so frustrated...I just wish there was something I could DO!  My daughter just started as a freshman at UCSB.  I'm going to talk to her about it too.

Shannon - if you read this and he does have connections here, please let me know.  I'll print up a ton of flyers and post them everywhere if you think it might help.

Hi there - I decided to google Chris's name and read A LOT of things about him, most of which I already knew from this forum.  I LOVE that his name is out there...lots of strangers, including us, really do care.

I read that the police are trying to follow leads and I keep coming back to the "208" they think he might have written on a piece of paper.  I keep reading that they're focusing a lot of attention towards Idaho because that's the area code up there.  This may sound really obvious, and I'm sure the police are looking into everything but, I just have to put it out there just in case.  I know 208 is also the first three numbers in a lot of the state's phone numbers.  It doesn't necessarily mean an Idaho number.  Also, have they checked all the local addresses in the area that have a 208 in them?

Also, I read (might have been here) that he possibly has ties to Orange County.  If that's Orange County, CA - can you give more details?  I live here in OC and I'll do anything I can to help!  My eyes are always looking for the truck.

I know it may seem far-fetched but everyone should write down the phone number for the Enoch, UT police dept. and keep it with them...just in case.  It's 435-586-9445

My thoughts are with you and yours!

Q: If you could trade places with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be? why?

My 7yo son.  He is so full of love and light!  Almost always smiling and happy. No worries, responsibilities.  His biggest decision of the day is which cereal to have for breakfast.  So innocent  Smile

If you had only 1 hour to spend an unlimited amount of money, what would you spend it on?

My favorites are Golden Grahams, Honey Bunches of Oats, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes, Rice Chex, Grape Nuts.  Problem is, I can't just eat 3/4 cup of it!!  I mean, if I can cram it into a cereal bowl without it overflowing, then it counts as one serving, right?!?!  LOL

My favorite way to eat pita is to stuff it with some roasted red pepper hummus, lettuce, yellow peppers, grilled onions, and a couple of ounces of grilled chicken or turkey.  YUMMY!  I had that for lunch AND dinner today!  Very filling too.

I just love Paula Deen!!  She cracks me up!  She's one of those people that I would  just want to hang out with for a weekend - at her house of course.  LOL  The only way I would eat most of her stuff though is if she made it personally for me - there's no way I could say no to that!  I also like Robin Miller.  She's the one who pre-cooks a lot of stuff on the weekend and the makes a bunch of different, quick meals from it during the week.  We watch Giada a lot.  She seems so nice - but we really watch her because my 15yo son thinks she's hot!  Suprisingly, nobody mentioned Emeril.  I used to like him but I think he's gotten a little full of himself and please don't bash me but I'm beginning to feel the same way about Rachael Ray.  I mean, she's everywhere!

Hi Jengross ~ My stats are very similar to yours.  I am 38, and weigh about 225 (haven't weighed in a week or so).  My husband eats the same way, but on him it shows.  Let's just say he is a BIG guy.  He, unfortunately is one of my biggest problems.  He is a sabotager in a big way.  Our marriage isn't exactly the best lately but now he's freaking out about this because he knows I'm serious.  He actually said he doesn't want me to lose weight so that we can be fat and happy together.  What?!?!  We're fat now and not happy!! I've also been in denial for a looooong time.  Until I saw a pic of myself at my daughter's HS graduation.  OMG ~ that did it!  I started my new way of living on 9/11 - my 38th birthday.  So here I am!
