i understand how scary it is to think about the weight gain. and i am so sorry to see that you are suffering through this. i was diagnosed with anorexia at the age of 11 and I am now 16. it is something that will always stick with you, even when you are truly "recovered". but i am so glad that you are so willing to get better!!! if you believe you can do it then you will!!!

i would suggest by first going to a psychologist. i know, you probably are like i dont need a psychologist im not crazy. i thought the exact same way. but you have to come with terms that anorexia is a brain issue as well as something physical. it truly helps. if you get a psychologist that you really feel comfortable with after a few appointments, its really begins helping you. it helps you come to terms with the fact that no one wants you to get fat, they just want to help you get healthy. you can still stay thin!!! i am 5'4" and 107 lbs. im technically "underweight" but im healthy!! thats all you have to become!!! you just have to get to a point where food and exercise are not ruling your life, they are just a part.

Also, you are going to have to up the calories no matter what. just try to get to 500. 2 weeks later, get to 700, and so on. if you can do that, then your metabolism will be fine. your body wont be able to handle an average daily amount (1500-2000) per day and you will mess up your metabolism by just beginning to eat that amount. just add in the calories slowly, and you will be fine. And believe me, although you are scared to gain weight, you will feel better by doing it. its definitly a scary thought, but just get to 100 and see how you feel. i bet you will have more energy and look great!!

please feel free to message me about anything else you need help with. i know that you are probably really anxious to add in calories or even think about gaining weight, but you just need to try to not think about it so much. it will truly help!! i hope that i have helped you even the slightest bit!!! good luck!!!

i understand completely. i have the same problem but for me its in my hips/oblique area. no matter how much weight i lose, i always have really curvy looking hips because my bone is really big and sticks out a ton. but ribs showing looks good. i mean as long as its not starving looking, some ribs showing look really attractive. its just your bone frame, really there is nothing to do about it. everyone is built differently and you jsut have to work with it. as long as you are thin all over, you will look thin!! so just keep your weight down and your ribs will jsut go along with the rest of your body!! jsut walk tall and be proud of your small frame!!! jsut one part of your body doesnt "ruin" the rest of your figure!!! so be happy with yourself:)

that really is the most simple and best way to do it. thats wat i did the first time. but now im always finding ways to cheat myself out of losing weight and although i really want it, deep down something in me does not want me to be thin again. i need to get rid of that little evil voice!!! and just wanting to lose weight for my health isnt a good enough reason. plus, i exercise a ton and balance the massive amount of food i eat, so i am in really good bodily shape. i jsut need to lose extra fat

yes it is so unfair!!! i went from a full B-32 to barely an A. i seriously look like im 10. i cant wait until im 21 and i can get implants because its not fair that boobs are the first place we lose weight!!!

i am and 16 and my friend used to use cc and i decided i would give it a try. i dont really count calories because it doesnt help me much but i like the forum for tips.

well thats a relief!!! i was really scared of bulking up!

yes i do a lot of isolation work. are compound movement where you use opposing muscles??

and yes i already do squats and lunges. they are definitly a good workout!

i do about 20 minutes of static lifting exercises and 20 minutes of weights with movement of the rest of my body. im not worried about getting hurt with 12 for the static but for the dynamic things i dont want to accidently swing the weights and pull something or for something bad to happen. i dont want to bulk up either. i just want to keep toned arms and for my body to keep being challenged, not get stuck on a plateau by staying at the same amount of lifting weight

i used to binge a lot and this is what helped me (i lost 3 lbs in the 1st week of doing it!!)

try to eat a really filling breakfast. this is what i like to have:

  • start it off with either a grapefruit or an orange or a fruit with a lot of water that makes you full
  • fry 2 eggs in butter (not any artificial stuff, butter has fat which leaves you full longer)
  • have one or two thin slices of ham or bacon.

yes, it may sound like a heart attack on a plate, but its delicious and leaves you full for hours!!!

 

5 hrs later, eat a good lunch until you are full:

  • once again, have a fruit with water to make you full or unsweetened fruit juice
  • have a piece of lean meat or fish prepared however you like it (grilled, baked, poached, boiled, etc)
  • make a huge green salad and eat as much of the lettuce as you need to make you full. use a sugar free dressing (i love olive oil and red wine vinegar with salt and pepper!!)

 

5 hrs later, eat a good dinner until you are full:

  • again, a fruit with lots of water or unsweetened fruit juice
  • another piece of lean meat or fish however you like it prepared. if you use a gravy, make sure its not amde with flour or corn starch.
  • have another large green salad with sugar free dressing (as much lettuce as you need to fill you up)
  • put red green and yellow veggies into your salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, bell peppers) but NO corn/potatoes/sweet potatoes!!!

Right before bed, have a glass of tomato juice or skimmed milk. that will give you enough satiety before bed, and if you drink the milk, your body will use the protien to build muscle!!!!

i am 5'4", 16, and 117. i used to range between 98-106 for the last few years and i want to get back to that again, but thats eating around 1200. although im normal weight now and i eat around 1500, im more comfortable being underweight because i was all of my life until i got my period and i had to start worrying about being thin.

i understand you completely because i was in the same boat as you in the summer. i was 5'4" and i only weighed 98 lbs this summer, and i stopped getting my periods for about 6 months. i didnt diet and i didnt think i was fat or anything, but i exercised about an hour and a half a day and i only ate around 900 cals a day.

when i went to the doctors to get my sports physical, i was forced to gain body fat, but not weight, although weight gain was recommended. this was because i had been missing my period and if you dont get your period when you have had it regularly before, you are at risk for bone diseases such as ostheoperosis.

so if you like your body the way it is and dont want to gain weight, just add more fats into your diet so that your body feels it is healthy enough to nourish an egg and let you have your periods. my guess is that although you are very thin you probably dont look sickly so you prob dont need to gain weight, but if your doctor, parents, or peers are telling you to gain weight, its probably because you need to. i hope this helps!

my mom used to have them on her thighs/butt but they arent visible at all anymore!! she got rid of them being noticeable by drinking a lot of water! like 100 oz a day

jamba juice is soooo good!!! but i know its so bad for you!!! so i always go there with a friend and split one because even though it seems so healthy since its all fruit and no extra sugar, its still off the charts in the sugar category.

i usually try not to finish it either because the sugar sinks to the bottom of teh cup!! and when i eat a lot of sugar i crave carbs!! so i figure once in awhile its great for breakfast so i can get a yummy energy kick, but i cant handle the sugar in a whole 16 oz ever!!!

eggs are only unhealthy for you if you have a high cholesterol or are at risk for high cholesterol because of family history. but a great alternative that tastes no different than regular eggs is Egg Beaters. its in a little carton and you just pour it into a pan to scramble and its delicious! and only 30 calories per 1/4 cup (the amount of 1 egg worth)

 

cheese is the same thing... if you have cholesterol problems/risk. but fat isnt the enemy!!! as long as you eat it in moderation it will probably actually help release fat stores!!! but if you really dont want to eat it because its fat content, jsut get low fat or non fat cheese.

yes i agree that probably is true since i restricted myself so much i became embarrassed to eat and rarely did, but now when i do its always alone. thanks for the insights though and for caring about me!!!!

yes i really just want to curb my appetite because i dont really need to lose much weight i just want to get rid of cravings and get back to the healthy eating habits i usually have. do you suggest any that worked well for you and were safe? thanks for your help!

the same thing happened to me this summer. i lost 30 lbs, so i am 5'4" and was down to 98 lbs in july, and i couldnt see it at all!!! but ppl always told me how good i looked but that i was very thin and i could gain if i wanted. so i started to look at pictures and i could actually see the transformation!!! so try that and then you will really be able to embrace how gorgeous you look thin and you will feel so much better about yourself!!!

develinne- i actually completely agree with you. i think it could be an ed but then again i was once anorexic so i dont think i could ever become a compulsive overeater. im hoping its a phase, but ive been saying that for awhile now. nothing happened really; i jsut got sick of being so healthy so i decided to eat some junk food then it kept adding to more and more and now im stuck in a deep whole of feeling horrible and just making it worse daily. its actually like ruining my social life because all i think about is food and i feel like i draw away from public situations. i agree that i need to stop thinking about it but i dont know how. and i actually feel like a different person- my friends dont act the same towards me and my whole life seems changed. i really hope i do get back to myself and thanks for the positive inspiration

Leiann- i think that you are actually like a double version of me! its crazy!!! tahts exactly what has been happenning to me! i say that i want to eat healthy but deep down i really dont. i always do the "ill start eating healthy after____" but then i crash like the 2nd day. so i think i will try that, doing loss for three days and then maintenance 3 days. thanks so much for the great idea!!!
