The calorie tool on this website says I should be eating 1200 to lose weight, but the other website (pcord or ccord - I forget what it is) - said I should eat 1600.  That's a HUGE difference!  Any advice?

In the last week I've upped to 1500-1700 cals and cut down a tad on the exercising, and lost 5lbs!  So I'll keep this up and see how it goes...

One of the ladies that consumes this daily said that Weight Watchers allows people to eat as much of it as they want.  I'm assuming this is butter free - but has anyone been on Weight Watchers and heard about that?

wow.  actually, i'm not missing the point.  i log every kind of exercise i do in to this website.  same with food.  the only food i don't weigh is my meat, but that's because i'm at work and there's no scale in our cafe.  but i doubt one piece of grilled chicken is off by a few hundred calories.

either way, thanks to everyone else for the advice.  i'll try lowering my calories by a few hundred for two weeks and see if that helps.  if my bmr is 1700, i'm not exactly sure how eating 1500 make sense, but i'll give it a try.

I usually consume between 1700 and 2000 calories a day.  But only 2000 on the days that I burn closer to 3000 (swimming days).

I guess I'll try going down to 1512 like someone suggested, but when I posted a similar question a month ago in the fitness section, everyone jumped down my throat saying that that wasn't enough and it would slow my metabolism down since my BMR is 1702.

Sedentary I burn 2100 - but I try to exercise enough to be 500-1000 over what I eat.  Some days less than 500, but rarely.

I have been eating about 1700 calories per day, but using the zig-zag method.  I typically burn between 500-1000 above that each day.

I walk 60min 5x week as well.

So I've been doing this for a month now, at least two times per week.  Sometimes running, sometimes stairs.  I haven't seen any results, neither in weight loss or in measurements.

Weight Loss Alli- Anyone having success? Sep 05 2008

I just started all this calorie counting business about 2-3 weeks ago, and started taking Alli about 10 days ago.  I have seen zero side effects.  Almost all of my meals are less than 15g of fat, but last night I had at least 30g of fat with dinner and had no side effects.

I've only lost two pounds in the last two weeks, but I think it's more so because my metabolism was so messed up before I started that it's taking some time to get on track.

I bought mine on ebay because it was at least $20 cheaper, even after shipping.

It's helpful if you want to zig zag your calories so your metabolism doesn't get too use to what you're feeding it

Sounds to me like you are all eating too little.  Are you going by what this website says (cc is usually off by a few hundred calories):

Not to intercept here, but an example of HIIT would be something like this:

-walk slowly for one minute

-run at maximum speed possible for 30 seconds

-walk slowly for one minute

-run at max speed for 30 seconds

etc etc

Same can be done on the stairs or on an elliptical machine.  The key is to drastically raise your heart rate, and then drop it again.  Keeps your metabolism up longer

Seriously do not worry about natural sugar.  As long as you're not eating snickers and suckers, you'll be fine.  My friend lost over 70lbs and her daily sugar intake was always between 50-80.

I know this post is really old, but I was in need of some red bull advice.  I think anything in moderation is okay.  I too had a friend who lost a lot of weight and still incorporated red bull in to her daily diet.

There are some threads on here about zig-zag calorie eating, meaning eat 1400 one day, 1800 the next, etc.  I think as long as your average calories consumed throughout the week is in accordance with what the Phord calculator says, you'll lose weight.

For example, my resting metabolism is 1700 calories.  So every day I try to eat at least that much.  Any exercise I do is going to burn calories, so the more exercise the better, without going to crazy.

Everybody's body reacts different - so what works for one will not work for everyone.  I suggest trying it for a week and see how you feel.

Ok so I figured out all of those equations - and still came up with 1710 for optimal calorie intake for fat loss.  This seems awful high though - the majority of posts I'm reading where people lost a lot of weight had them only consuming 1300-1500 calories a day.

What is a realistic expectation for weight loss with HIIT Training?  Is 2lbs per week average, or does this type of training increase that?

Thanks for that website link.  I am 5'4" and the website said I should be eating at least 1700.  Why does this cc website say only 1300 though?  That's a pretty big difference...

Stretching before and after any exercise helps me immensely.  I never thought it would, or that it mattered, until my physical therapist friend yelled at me.  Now I stretch for a few minutes before and after any exercise, and the pain is minimal if at all.  If it's really bad, put ice on it for 15 min at a time, once every two hours, for the first 48hrs.  Then heat after two days if it still hurts.

i had a friend that was a manager at mcdonald's for a few years, and she told me that it costs mcdonald's FOUR cents to sell you a large coke.  yeah, 4 cents.

i don't drink soda, but if i did, i wouldn't buy it from them based on the markup alone.

i just asked her about the adjustment thing being discussed here, and she said they never did it intentionally.  mcdonald's is known for having their coke taste a certain way, so they don't mess with it because customers always complain.

but there are more than 700+ receipes for coke in the world, each one being just slightly different.  each restaurant chain chooses their own levels.
