| Fitness | Who wants to start a new round of 30 Day Shred with me!? | Feb 16 2009 17:18 (UTC) |

Quick question:
When you guys are doing more than one level back to back are you starting with the "easiest" or the hardest? I have been doing one level on 30DS, then another 30 minute video. I've been thinking about doubling up on Jillian, but can't decide if I should do level 3 then level 2 or do the easier level first.....
any suggestions? |

Hey all, I've been MIA for awhile but I'm still here. We had spring break last week and I didn't do too well but I'm back on track. I'm down to 130 (from 136) and have made a new goal to loose 2 pounds in the next two weeks. School here is out by the first of June so my goal is to be 125 by June first. That should be totally doable--I hve like 6 weeks to loose 5 lbs. Samantha~ i hear you on the weekend deals...It's like free for all. It's so hard to stick to rabbit food when cook-out season is here. But if were careful we can enjoy a few treats on the weekend and get back on track during the week. I think the major issue is to KEEP MOVING. I am trying to do 30 minutes in the morning and about 45-60min in the afternoon. Some days I get it done, others I can't do any at all. But I am noticing small changes...
Keep up the good work everyone!!! Leslie |

OOOOOhhh--I did BIU yesterday. I forgot how much harder it is than RIU, but i think I like it better. It's more fun because there is more variety. I didn't do it all without stopping but I am going to focus on that today because i'm doing it for me and I'm the only one that can make it work.... Its hard but it feels good to get through it! |

Glad to hear he's home and ok. My husband just had surgery and I know how it is. You have to pick up slack at home and the workouts suffer. Glad youre back! |

Samantha, you're super close to your goal!!! you can do it! Lets really focus all through April. No more giving in to bad food choices. Last night I shared a big plate of cheesy fries (the really bad for you kind with bacon and everything) with my husband and son. they were really good, but now I have to make up for it. I probably didn't gain this week but definetaly didn't loose. I'm still staying away from the scale because if I see it go up I'm afraid I'll loose all motivation........ Planning a good workout tonight then after that I have to clean my house so that will be like a double work out! lol. Main goal this week: work out every day, stay away from sweets. |

I'm planning to start BIU on Monday too......here's hoping I get it done! |

Hi mom22- We're in the same shoes....about 133-ish and want to loose about 10-ish. ('cept I'm older) :( Sounds like you did o.k. with the food at work. That always gets me too. Today is Saturday so we always have doughnuts or cookies for the customers here...takes a lot of will power to keep walking when I see everyone else eating...I like to have a bite or two then stop. I try to tell myself the first bite is always the best so I allow a taste then figure thats as good as it gets. that's great you have a personal trainer! Maybe you could pass-on your work out plan??!! Is he hot?? lol! Keep up the good work...its consistancy right?!

Hey montie-I fell off to. I missed like 4 in a row, then did one day, skipped a day and did another day (that was yesterday) I know how hard it is to get going again. And just to let you know, I was a little sore after that first time back (that was my excuse for skipping yet another day). But, on the upside, I feel better about myself even after just one good work out. I may have gained back a couple of pounds but thats all I'm going to allow. (haven't weighed yet~ hoping to stay on track for a week before I weigh in again) Remember, we still have time to loose a good amount before summer hits. So stop making excuses and push play. You'll be glad you did I promise. Think back to how good you felt. It is totally worth it! |

Hi nwoodrum-After reading you post I looked at your gallery pictures and I was wondering how you went from 135 (may 2007) to 110 (Aug 2007) in just 3 months? I'm around 135 now and would love to get to 115 in a few months. Any advice? Thanks~ |

Hi nenewa--glad you have joined us. I'm 5'3" and about 133ish. I haven't weighed since Easter because I sort of derailed....Sounds like you've got a more stable way of reaching your goal...I should try that :) Consistancy with the workout is what is important because then you have a little more room to indulge occasionally if the mood hits. Keep up the good work. I'm open to any ideas on how to keep from overeating....Like when I see an open bag of chips I dig in. That is, unless I'm feeling focused on loosing weight-- but if I've had a bad day or something...watch out! |

I am stupid because when I see candy at 50% off I buy it!!!! I'm crazy like that. I swear you would die if you saw my freezer. I have probably 20 pounds of chocolate stuffed in the back of it. I think it's a disease. I am over my Easter binge though and back on track. I know, I'm insane. |

Finally got a workout in yesterday. I missed like 5 days in a row! I guess there is no point in worrying about it, just got to get back in the groove. I've got to get rid of all the Easter candy at my house ! (And I don't mean by eating it!!!!!!) |

Thanks queenmedia for the advice...Unfortuantely I gave in this weekend. Been extra busy and even missed about 3 workouts! I'm a little mad at myself, but plan to get back to business today. krrpt, you're not the only one who is seeing a jump in weight this morning. I know I'm up, but too chicken to get on the scale....We'll be ok, like you said, it was a holiday after all :) Back to work! rlr03g-I know exactly what you're talking about. I can stick to a program pretty strict for about a month then slowly derail...Sometimes I think it's because I am expecting to see results quicker than they happen so after about a month I tell myself it's not working, then start being more lenient on what I eat and do etc. Keep on truckin' Leslie |

Congratulations on 4 pounds lost rbdrum! I'm not going near the scale until I have some time to recover from a bad weekend of eating too much! I didn't keep up with my workout last week either. But hey, this is a new week and I'm going to jump back in-full speed ahead! Welcome twalsh. You are at my goal weight. I am determined to get there. Others on this site have said that weighing themselves every day keeps them aware of the weight so they are able to maintain. I can't wait to be there. |

Kimberly- Thanks for the idea, I think I will need to drastically cut back on calories to get back on track. I over ate, just as I expected I would. And worse than that, I have missed the whole second half of my 4th week as far as work outs go. So, montie we'll have to get back on the wagon together. This is the start of a new week and it's time to get back on track. If we don't, all our hard work so far will be worthless. So, I'll definetaly be doing RIU & 6pack tonight! Actually looking forward to it. It will take me awhile to get back on the scale though.......... |

good Morning--Well, tomorrow has me a bit worried. My parents and in-laws are coming to our house for dinner and they always bring way too much food and it's always delicious....I've been doing well on calorie intake the past couple of days but have missed my RIU the last two days!!!EEEEKKK. My husband had surgery Tuesday so I've had to cover for him at work (sounds crazy I know. We own our own business) in fact I'm at work now. So I've been getting home at like 7pm then having to fix dinner, do laundry, nurse the injured, help with homework etc...I really want to try to get a work out in tonight. I have to make it a priority!! I will definetaly do RIU tomorrow (we probably won't make it to church because of hubbys situation :( ) Anyway, I was down another 1.5 this morning, for a total of 6.5 that puts me at 129.5. I just don't want to back slide with missing these couple of work outs lately. AND all that food tomorrow, not to mention the candy.
HELP I NEED MOTIVATION! |

Oh, thats so discourging. I'm sorry you're struggling so much. Have you tried writing down everything you eat to be sure of your calorie intake? Or maybe you need to shock you system by eating a larger meal??? Keep working hard and don't give up. |

Hey Sam-Thats me...5'3", 131 lbs. I started at 136 about a month ago. Do you feel like these last 10-15 are ever going to budge???? It's so agrivating. Eat right, work out and nothing! I'm dong SI6 right now. I'm almost done with the 4th week but am planning to go for 8 weeks instead of 6. I'm trying to hit 1200-1400 calories a day. I feel like eating a big basket of assorted and delicious Easter Candy. Help! Leslie |

Samantha, I will check out Shapes Bikini Boot Camp. Thanks for the input. I can do a 30 minute everyday. Especially if it is pretty intense and you feel like your getting a work out. I'm still undecided about SI6. I am stronger...just not much thinner...boo hoo :( Yesterday was the first day I skipped SI6 since I started 4 1/2 weeks ago. Work was a killer, I had to do alot of manual labor and I didn't get home until 7pm so there was nooooo way. I don't see a ton of results yet but I really want to finish it and see what happens. I've been doing great on my food intake~until last night~ but what can I do? Back on the wagon today. (I haven't weighed myself for awhile. I had lost 5 pounds two weeks ago. I'm hoping it will be at least 7 off by this weekend) rbdrum-One bad night won't derail all our efforts. We just have to get back to making the right choices. It's hard when its late and you haven't had dinner, but like you said, its a new week~or even just a new day. stick with it. My new motto is "You don't know how close you are" This reminds me not to slide back into my old eating habits before I see the results I'm looking for. I'm close, I don't even know how close I am! Right? Spring is here so swim suit weather is just around the corner. Watch out for those chocolate bunnies this weekend. It's the peanut butter eggs they lay that mess me up!!!!! Have a Happy Easter! Leslie

Happy First Day Of Spring!!!! --Welcome scout! Sounds like everyone is doing well and sticking with it! This is my second attempt at SI6. The first time I quit after about two days of RUI. I don't think I was ready to move on. This time I did SIU for 2 weeks first. It really helped me to be able to get through RIU without feeling too discouraged. So, crazineko, I think 2 weeks on SIU is a great plan. Today is week 4, day 5 for me. Friday I will finish my second week of RIU. I think I will do one more week of RIU before I move on. I am just now able to do it all without stopping and I want to be sure I'm really ready for BIU. I'm not in a big rush to finish either. The goal is to get fit, not to finish in 6 weeks. I'm planning on doing BIU for 3 weeks too. I can see some results. No one else has noticed, but I have. My husband had surgery Tuesday and is recovering. I'm hoping to suprise him with a new body by the time he is back on his feet. lol! Maybe he'll recover faster *wink* One more thing, I have noticed this past week (finally) the feeling of needing to work out. I love it because it helps me do it, no matter what time of day I end up being able to fit it in. montie-Congrats on starting RIU! I like to get to the second set of oblique crunches. I tell myself the hard part is over then. The floor work is hard and burns but it gets eaiser. My arms always ache really bad during that part. Keep up the good work...I want to hear about everyone's results! |
